Studying at this school left an extremely negative impression. We came to learn Serbian from scratch. This is my 4th foreign language, plus I've been teaching French for 7 years, so I have something to rely on in my judgments. The biggest problem is the lack of a lexical base. We were not given any lists of words, topics, or vocabulary for lessons. The most important topics were touched upon in passing. For example, we spent 10 minutes on the topic of “cafe”, and still did not get the knowledge on how to ask for a menu, a glass of water or appliances. They left with only the word waiter. In the “shop” topic, we only learned how to say “no change” and the names of all types of nuts. But there was a very important topic of the airport - why, it is not clear. The lack of vocabulary was explained by the fact that “it is impossible to know all the words that may be useful,” although basic thematic lists have long existed and are used in language teaching. As a result, we were regularly asked to talk about topics on which we did not know any vocabulary at all, and we did not have an understanding of what exactly to teach and how to practice it. The classes were based on presentations. If someone missed a lesson, they simply sent a presentation without explanation: which slides passed, which did not, what was important, what was asked - it is unclear. Homework was sent only after a reminder and at the very last moment. In general, it was almost impossible to get normal information from the admin of the group. I would like to note an important point separately: the Serbian language has a noun gender, and usually when studying such languages, the gender is indicated immediately. They always start by memorizing these genera. Here, we were never given the gender of nouns, and we had to “guess” for ourselves, which is an absolutely non-working approach for beginners. We had a group of 8 people and a 3-month course. By the end of the second month, 6 out of 8 people stopped walking because classes seemed useless. At the same time, everyone paid for the entire course, and under the contract, the money was not refunded under any circumstances. People would rather lose money than keep wasting time. In the middle of the course, we changed our teacher, and the new teacher could not always properly explain the meanings of words either in Russian or in English. There were situations when a word appeared in the text, we asked for a translation, but the teacher could not explain it. Also, almost from the second week, the schedule was changed: we signed up for classes at 19:00, then postponed to 18:30 “temporarily”, but this “temporarily” became permanent. As a result, it turned out that we met the school halfway, agreed to changes, and as soon as we had questions or something did not suit us, we were met with indifference and poking into the contract instead of a normal dialogue. Bottom line: please don't waste your money and time, I've never seen a more useless language course. You expect consistency, educational materials, understandable vocabulary, normal organization and respectful communication from training, but this was not the case here.
