There’s no way to book a table to the place (not polite staff explained me by phone). At the same time when I went there (tried 3 times) it was always “we have no available tables” and there was a queue of people standing on the street and willing to enter the place. Always unemotional staff only suggest to become the 6th or 10th in the queue and wait for the free table. This is not how a good restaurant has to work.
Btw today I was there and while people were waiting for the entering, I could see at least 4 free tables (with dirty dishes but still free) in the inside.
In the cold time we were asked to wait outside and freeze for “30-40 mins”. Administrator and waiters was giving us annoyed views and were rude. Maybe food and wine choice is nice but I had no chance to try it.
I was in this place on 16th of July. The waiter was rude, no one came up to us during 20 minutes of waiting. The place is obviously understaffed, but why should it be my problem?
Terrible service, rude waiters. Kharapuri was awful, tea from tea bags, we were waiting ages to be served. The waitress was absolutely impolite, ignoring and arrogant. There are many fantastic restaurants in Tbilisi, but this one is definitely not
September 2024. We always come here with my husband when we are in Tbilisi. He says that kharcho and khinkali are the best in the city here. I rather like the location and the atmosphere. Such a refined Soviet dining room with unexpected paintings on the walls. And it is located two steps from Rustaveli Street, almost to the side of the Museum of Modern Art. Yes, it is important! The staff does not speak Russian, only Georgian or English! And the menu is also in English-Georgian without pictures, so Google translator will help you) My husband tasted fried khinkali here. To my taste, it's just chebureks in the form of khinkali) pork kebab is not very tasty, it's a little dry. In the Georgian salad, tomatoes are of the "supermarket" type, despite the fact that September is the season of ground delicious tomatoes. People enjoy drinking beer and wine. The price tag is humane. You can take it with you in a foil package, but it's better to eat right there!
The most delicious khinkali , both in Tbilisi and in comparison with the regions and Mtskheta . Amazing fried and at the same level ordinary . I really liked it ! Branded beer is also better than local beer everywhere. Ordinary wine is not worth it .If you go to look at the interiors and wait for VIP service , then it 's not there . The queue will have to wait outside, they come and call. The price tag is ordinary , budget-friendly for Tbilisi . Mostly locals eat in large companies .
Great cafe! The staff is polite and young. The service is in English and Georgian. Delicious khinkali, kebab, potatoes. The prices are pleasant. Everything is cooked quickly, cleaned quickly. The interior is beautiful, there is a lot of space, the tables are at a great distance. I recommend it! 10 out of 10 ❤
I can't say why this place was so highly appreciated. We tried to get into this institution twice in a day, we read reviews that the staff speaks English or Georgian. But nevertheless, we wanted to have lunch, at one-thirty in the afternoon we decided to have lunch, went in, OK, settle down, they say, which room do you like? We chose, sat down, brought the menu, slowly, chose, the waiter came, saying he was ready to take the order, I chose well, I started telling him, he started writing it down. Then, on the word Khinkali, it breaks off, and in English, "Wee so sorry, kitchen is closet, onli salads aveylib." I exhaled, didn't say anything, just packed up and left. In the evening at 21:20 we tried to come in a second time, we got good grades here, and you know, the same song "kitchen is closet", the same waiter answered us on the brakes. I can't figure out what it is. Why is that? And why is this done? With a bitter taste, they found another place where they understood Russian and sat down, and everything was quickly brought and the kitchen was working. I don't recommend it to anyone. They would have written at the entrance that we do not allow Russian speakers.
I visited the cafe on the recommendation that it has the best Khinkali. We got into the cafe the second time, because the first time we were told that there was no longer an opportunity to do khinkali today, it was at 6 pm. Maybe I was unlucky, but the khinkali was served boiled, they burst immediately after lifting from the plate, that is, there was no broth to drink, everything remained on the plate. And this is the first time in my entire trip to Georgia. The service is in English only, as a matter of principle.
The menu is short and therefore very convenient.
Khinkali and service are exactly what they should be in a legendary place that unites tourists and regulars - not exceeding expectations and not striking the imagination. Delicious, fast and inexpensive.
Stability is a sign of mastery.
Here are the most delicious khinkali!! — with meat, cheese, mushrooms; boiled and fried! Delicious homemade wine. The prices are lower than in other restaurants, but much tastier. It may be a queue, but the wait is worth it. I definitely recommend it.
It's a good place. Very tasty. I will definitely come there next time. Be prepared that the staff there does not understand Russian, but speaks English well. We were able to explain what we wanted in broken English.
There were a lot of positive recommendations, so we decided to go. As a result, it is a complete disappointment. Absolutely not tasty khinkali and eggplant, homemade lemonade was also nothing to talk about. The dough at the hinkals is just disgusting, the meat was generally not bad. The eggplants were salted and poured with a lot of oil, heartburn was provided for several hours. We expected more from the institution
The first thing that confused me was the disgusting white light like in a hospital, which absolutely deprives the meal of any comfort and creates a feeling of a hospital.
The second is the location of the tables. Tables are located along the walls. We were put in some kind of corner, from which you can only watch the waiters
The third is the service. The waiters do not try to create the feeling that they are interested in your comfort at all. All without a smile. If you ask them to find out about the status of the order, they disappear. We ordered 3 types of khinkali. The latter waited for more than an hour. They did not wait.
The fourth is food. We tried 2 types of hincals. It tastes a hundred times better in St. Petersburg. The broth is layered, the meat is fresh.
For those who do not speak Georgian or English, and in general for Russians who respect themselves, I do not recommend visiting this institution. At best, they'll put you in a cubicle apart from the rest of the visitors, like lepers. The most Russophobic staff with all the ensuing consequences. You'll be completely ignored by the staff by speaking Russian in front of them. In general, such Russophobic garbage dumps should be avoided. Tbilisi is full of cafes and restaurants with absolutely adequate and friendly staff.
Delicious khinkali and wine. A very popular place, you may have to wait a little while until a table is available. Minimalistic interior, a great place to have lunch or dinner in the company.
Very poor service, it starts with the fact that when you come you are kicked out into the street to wait in line with the words "evey" and pointing to the door, when you get in line, they send you to the table and no longer come. The menu is empty, except for 2 types of kebabs and khinkali there is no food. Probably, if you save money, it's normal. But it's disgusting to sit there, I sat for 10 minutes without a waiter and went to another place.
We've been here 10 times, but today we were disappointed...
we ordered a glass of Saperavi red wine and a glass of draft beer
The wine was served sour, with a sour smell and disgusting taste.
To our remark, three waiters agreed that the wine was spoiled. But one waitress still had the audacity and claimed that this was how wine should taste.
Instead of apologizing for a low-quality product, they are still trying to impose shit
By the way, the beer was also diluted and it didn't look much like beer
We will never come here again and we will not advise anyone
I liked the restaurant, the cuisine is excellent (we tried 4 types of khinkali, chicken kebab, salads, khachapuri), everything was very tasty. The waiters know their business and the menu is excellent. I didn't really like the interior, it wasn't very cozy, but it doesn't spoil the overall impression in any way. An excellent place to have lunch or dinner after walking around the beautiful city. We will definitely come back when we are in Tbilisi next time.
We never managed to taste the food, because the waiter simply did not reach us. People are offered to wait for a table on the street, the menu is very strangely arranged and quite small. But even if everything tastes great here, because of the service, at least half of your customers will not reach the "taste the dish" stage. Rather, I do not recommend it
The best khinkali in Tbilisi, especially branded fried khinkali - I have not eaten anywhere else in 3 years of emigration. It should be taken into account - there will almost always be a queue at the entrance, Friday / Saturday / Sunday evening - 30-40 minutes + they will also cook for 30 minutes and beyond, which is also normal for this institution, and for Georgia as a whole. There is no armor! The service is also one at a time, most likely you are not used to this, but just make a discount, fried khinkalki are worth it😁
The case when they just got up and left. No one came up, they called, waited, and once again our table was "kicked off" by each waiter in turn. They asked the Wi-Fi to look at the menu with a translation - refusal, they tried to order at random, khinkali from 10 pieces (they were in the 2nd) the waiter does not speak Russian, but it feels like he's pretending))) As a result, we decided not to stay away from the number of misunderstandings.
I didn't like it. They came and went. The waitress explains to her that she needs dry white wine, and she begins to offer a semi-sweet red wine with a smile full of mockery. How is it that there is no white wine in Georgia - neither table wine nor bottled wine? But this is nonsense. There is no one, there is no other.. Friends, our budget is in favor of other cafes..My advice is to change the very rude waiters who sell the dishes.
My friends recommended this place, they said that there are delicious khinkali, and the khinkali turned out to be really good, BUT! The service is such a bottom, the waiter waited a lot of time, as a result, a girl came up to us, who clearly did not want to go to work that day, and she did not care deeply about the visitors.
Well, we made an order and began to wait, as a result, this wait stretched for 30-40 minutes, and the tables that came after us brought khinkali earlier, how is it at all? We pressed the button several times to call the waiter, but no one came.
Plus, their terminal did not work, they only accepted cash, they had to go to the ATM.
Well I do not know.. The establishment is clearly not worth the time spent
I tried 4 types of khinkali. Very tasty. Inexpensive. 1 khinkali 2 lari. Servings from 5 pieces (serving 10 GEL). The service is in English (young people work). According to the cards, for some reason only cash was accepted (maybe I was so unlucky, although there is a common story in Georgia, they love cash here).
the most terrible institution of all that we have been to in all of Tbilisi!!!
the 1st thing I would like to start with is the disgusting service and attitude towards visitors. Of course, I understand perfectly well that the service suffers all over Tbilisi, but this place is just TERRIBLE. To clearly understand the situation, we, as polite and decent people, sat down at a table and asked the waiter which language he would be comfortable speaking, Russian or English, he replied that in English. As a result, he accepted the order with a malicious smile on his face. And when we asked to bring the satsebelli sauce we ordered 50 minutes ago, the waiter replied in Russian that they do not eat khinkali with sauce. In a very unfriendly tone, but as if with a claim.
Of course, I understand everything, but who cares how much my friends and I like to eat khinkali, maybe we get high on their radishes, who cares? Especially to the waiter, whose task is to ensure that the guest leaves well-fed and satisfied. But at least in normal establishments it is.
2nd - the waiting time for the order, 10 unfortunate Khinkali waited a certain amount of time. As a result, 9 pieces were brought. Why? Answer this question yourself. The cutlet with mashed potatoes was carried for more than one hour, the poor girl who ordered was already sitting and biting her elbows. At the same time, there were absolutely NOT many people in the institution. The bill was also carried for a VERY long time, then it was brought, we put the money inside, waited around 20-30 minutes for the waiter to come and pick up the bill. Next, the most interesting thing is the surrender. We waited a long time for it to be brought, too. It's just something with something.... There was no such thing in any institution.
The 3rd is food. The tastiest khinkali we've ever tasted. It feels like they poured cheap fried minced meat, bland and without spices. Khachapuri was brought on a thin dough, which all crumbled. There was very little filling.
In general, IN NO CASE do I recommend this institution to visit. You'll leave in a bad mood, just like us…
It's delicious, but the service is trash, it's just very bad. And the restaurant itself is uncomfortable, Spartan interiors and wooden chairs, no music is playing, the feeling is more like a dining room. The bill includes a 15% tip, which is extremely annoying at this level of service.
I liked everything, good wine and food. Of the minuses, slow waiters (if tips of 15% were not included in the bill automatically, I think the service in this institution would be an order of magnitude higher) with a very unsuccessful design menu - everything is full and poorly readable
The place is in the center, the atmosphere is normal, fried khinkali with mushrooms is delicious, rolls with eggplant are slightly salted, but the staff does not smile at all
A wonderful place with a pleasant interior and wonderful staff. The waiter Natalia is a very sincere person, recommended a delicious wine.
The restaurant is famous for the best Khinkali and it's true. There is nowhere tastier than hinkal there, and they also serve amazingly delicious butter. If they didn't bring it right away, be sure to forgive me.
The price/quality ratio is excellent. I recommend
A trendy cafe where locals gather. The cuisine is delicious, the prices are above average. Service with a disgruntled waiter's face. Russian Russian menu is not available, the staff does not speak Russian
We are not welcome. The young waiters looked askance at our table, discussing something and did not deign to approach. We looked at the menu on the phone (qr on each table), half of the dishes without an image, the signature in Georgian and English. After sitting for 15 minutes, we went to another place, where we had a great lunch
We really liked the khinkali here, the dough is just perfect, and the minced meat and broth in them is the perfect combination. The service can't say it was friendly, but I can't say it was dismissive either. It was cold somehow served. We were at the time of the protests, perhaps because of this. The place itself has dimmed lights, it's hard to call it cozy, but the food is commendable - a score of 5 for this.
The drinks are very tasty. Fried khinkali is delicious. We waited in line outside for 20 minutes - it was worth it. It's not the first time, and it probably won't be the last.
It's a good place. Good cuisine. Prices are sometimes unclear how they are formed.
Khinkali is normal, of all kinds - but salads are very high price.
In general, if the menu is accurate - 60 GEL for three.
Tips will be added to the bill - 15%
Very tasty. the staff does not know Russian - this is a minus. the interior is nothing like a canteen in a hospital. Bare painted walls and tables without tablecloths
Everything is delicious as always! During the year of my life in Georgia, I went here many times for fried hinkals. The place is popular, many recommend it. It is better to come on weekdays, there are fewer people and the staff is more attentive these days. And it feels like every time the khinkali are getting smaller and smaller in size ... I hope it just seems!
It was very tasty, and it wasn't very expensive. A cool place in the center, where queues line up in the evening for dinner.
Khinkali, khachapuri - everything is at the highest level!
We came to eat delicious khinkali. We ordered 5 bottles of lemonade and 20 khinkali. The waitress specified which Khinkali and suggested the menu.
The lemonade arrived quickly, but we waited for more than an hour for khinkali. We thought that there were a lot of people and the kitchen couldn't cope (this often happens), but still decided to ask how much longer we had to wait. Another waiter told us that we had ordered nothing but lemonade. It's a shame that we spent so much time and stayed hungry.
