A very authentic train station, on a semi-closed territory there are gardens with fountains and small cafes, where, especially in the heat, it is very comfortable to wait for a train, in the station itself there is a rather curious museum dedicated to the railways of Armenia. There are no queues, there are toilets, there are storage rooms.
A very compact and comfortable train station. Simple inputs and outputs. The station is well maintained, the architecture combines elements of traditional Armenian style and modern solutions. Overall, I was satisfied with my experience at the railway station in Yerevan. This is a great place to start a trip around Armenia!
Beautiful train station, unusual architecture. There is no toilet inside. We have to go down to the passage, there are terrible paid toilets. I took the train to Gyumri from Yerevan. There are only 2 carriages. The places are soft. The ticket office opens 15 minutes before the departure of the morning train, at 7.30, online tickets are not sold. I got there in 3 hours. But there is a fast train with seats, it costs 2500 AMD, but you need to book in advance, they sell out quickly. She goes on Fri, Sat, open.
In general, I really liked Armenia, Yerevan. And the train station, the station square in general. Such an atmospheric place for a traveler, we left there for Gyumri for a few days. The station is like in the USSR, a typical building in fact. Near the train station you can have a very tasty meal, there are several places, there is a store with a huge selection of books in different languages, one of the metro stations is also within walking distance. There are taxi drivers and minibuses nearby - those who do not like the railway can go with them to Armenia or Georgia, but I would recommend taking the train anyway.
They cheat when buying tickets, the cashier administrator Mara said that there are no tickets for the Yerevan-Batumi train, but she can get them if you pay 10 thousand drams on top. I had to pay extra, as the tickets were needed urgently. When they boarded the train, it turned out that half of the car was empty, but in order to transfer to an empty compartment, they had to pay another 20 thousand drams or 200 lari.
The station itself is old, there are few places to sit, the toilet is paid (there is a hole in the floor, there is no paper).
The beautiful architecture of the Stalinist Empire, but there is one thing, but it is very significant. We arrived in Yerevan on a transit flight late at night, and early in the morning we were supposed to take the train to Gyumri. According to the schedule, the train departed from the central station at 7.50 am, and logically we decided to go from the airport to the station in advance. (We also had to buy tickets) What was our surprise when we arrived at the station at 5 a.m., we found ourselves at the closed doors. In Moscow, train stations and airports are open around the clock, but the main railway station in the Armenian capital opened its welcoming doors only at 7 a.m. By that time, we were already decently frozen, sitting on a bench in the central square (there is nothing working in the district at all, no cafes, no tents) Inside the building, the station struck with its beauty, even more than from the outside, but it was insanely cold there. We were there in the middle of October. There are practically no people, because at the moment the station carries out the departure of trains to Tbilisi (the train from Tbilisi arrives at 7.40) and three flights a day to Gyumri. The ticket office started its work at 7.30 am, the staff is very friendly, they speak Russian for the most part. There is no toilet at the station, the toilet is located in the building of the agricultural market on the 2nd floor, it is paid. There is also a souvenir shop in the station building, prices are very low, souvenirs are more expensive at the airport. And I would also like to draw your attention to the fact that tickets can only be purchased with Armenian cash, so you need to take care of purchasing local currency in cash in advance
An old train station with rare trains. There is a lot of garbage around, but the station itself is clean. But going through the underground passage with stalls to the platform is quite unpleasant and strange. I hope to be ennobled one day!
04/05 July 2024. Conductor Tatevosyan Gagik.I just closed one of the two toilets, opened it only in the morning, the second one was dirty, without paper, it was not cleaned.Yana claims the man calmly replied "write, complain wherever you want"
1. Come with cash and small sizes, give money for tickets without change. The whole conversation when buying smoking tickets boils down to the fact that the cashier found 2 post-revolutionary tickets for you in the compartment. Disobedience, because it's a complete shame! He gives me change and rudely says that I will go for the rest of your "pennies".
2. The Yerevan-Tbilisi train - the conductor in the compartment car immediately offers for 15,000 AMD "to leave the compartment only to you, because more people will settle on the way."
Is it worth saying that our carriage was half empty and not a single living soul was settled anymore?
And at the train station in Tbilisi, an uncle runs around and squeezes money for his ticket, because there is not enough cash just a little bit. Very talented.
A magnificent beautiful building! There is even a museum (admission is free!). Interesting! There are practically no visitors at the station, because there is no active railway connection. but! The station itself and the surrounding area are very impressive!!!
A beautiful place, I would like more improvements and care, after all, an architectural monument of Yerevan, I hope for the development of the railway in Armenia, very polite station staff

We were in Yerevan, just went to see the train station, a great place not spoiled by modern finishing materials. I also advise you to take a ride there.
Beautiful building. There is free Wi-Fi. You can call a taxi cheaper. There are enough places to sit. You can play the piano, which is there. Cashiers speak Russian
A beautiful Soviet-era building. From it there is a direct descent to the subway. During the day, a pianist plays the piano in the station building. It is very interesting that the trains and metro trains are all 2 cars each)))
I was passing through, so maybe my assessment is not objective. But it seemed very uncomfortable, not comfortable with constantly pestering taxi drivers. Thanks to the kiosk employee, he prompted me about the Internet and the address.
From the station you can go to Georgia, Gyumri and a couple of other cities. You buy tickets on the spot, there is also a metro, there are 2 stops to the center
Very quiet and peaceful train station. The guys are taxi drivers and persistently offer their services, which I really don't like. There is Wi-Fi in the ticket office area.
