The cafe inside the station was an iconic place. So everything seems to be clean and tidy. I buy tickets online. So I won't tell you about the queue. As one of the architectural structures, it is one of the most recognizable for Gomel residents, in particular, after the Paskevich Palace and the circus, of course.
A normal train station. The Soviet architecture is perfectly preserved. It's only strange that all the information signs and placards are in Belarusian and English, although everyone around speaks Russian!)))Probably this is a requirement of the Law, it's not for me to judge.
It's a great place. The building was built in the Stalinist style. And there are various catering establishments nearby. A trolleybus is approaching the station.
Architecture: 5.
Environment: 5.
Connectivity with urban infrastructure: 5.
Condition: 4. It is necessary to replace the doors, as these are outdated.
I did not communicate with the staff, the location is of course convenient, as you understand, I also did not use the cash register, because there is Internet. By the way, the Internet WIFI at the station works only with a local SIM card. At least I couldn't connect with my megaphone. The repair is probably from the USSR.
But there are only 8 Soviet chairs to turn gray while waiting for the train, and then in the right wing where there are cafes and flower shops.
Toilets.. This is a song about Polesie. Only in the wing of regional shipments, in the basement with a price of 1 ruble. Belarusian. But it is relatively clean, but the toilet cubicles contain the same Soviet theme, they simply do not exist.
And so, in general, the impression is good, I visited the 90s of Russia.
A fine example of Soviet architecture in excellent condition. Information, ticket offices, catering, platforms and access to them - everything is convenient and fast. Spacious waiting room. The staff is polite, signs are everywhere, clean toilets and luggage storage.
Everything is fine, there is a good train station, everything is there. There is a TV in the waiting room, and cafes at the bottom and top. Quite a decent toilet. There are coffee machines everywhere, shops with various accessories waiting for phones. The phone charging stand is very convenient
The ticket offices operate in their own mode. There are usually queues, but they are not always large. The toilet is chargeable, the condition is very average. There are catering places where you can have a snack.
The building is kept in order. There is only one paid toilet from the Soviet era. I present train tickets - in a boorish manner they declare that they do not care that the toilet is free for long-distance passengers at other stations in Belarus. The station attendant answered my questions politely. Luggage storage on floor -1, you need to go down the stairs with a suitcase, there is no elevator.
In general, everything is very cool, clean and pleasant.
There is a nuance, the way of long-distance trains is not indicated on the scoreboard

I helped out a lot, I was able to keep warm at night while waiting for the bus, there are a lot of places, but they are very uncomfortable and hard, the priest just became stone while he was sitting, and there is still a big minus - there is no toilet inside, you need to go to the next building, where there is a paid passage, how so
For the station of the regional city, it would be necessary to update the cash register and waiting room (the racks and chairs are worn), so I did not understand where the toilet is. There is a good cafe at the station - tasty and inexpensive.
A very nice cafe friendly and attentive workers with a smile on their face in any weather and delicious food are always glad to go there clever girls more of these and the world will become KINDER😁❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤
I have known this place since childhood, I also remember how on the ground floor it was necessary to stand in a long queue for ice cream, and there was no free space in the waiting room. Now, of course, everything is different, but anyway, the station is in excellent condition, the entire complex has been inspected and serviced. The central hall is like in the Hermitage, a wide grand staircase, a monument to Lenin on the second floor in its former place, familiar from childhood. There are new locations where to eat and what to buy on the road. Thanks to everyone who has preserved and protects Gomel railway station.
It's good enough, the queues are small. Tickets are issued very quickly at the ticket office. You can see everything on the scoreboard, you won't get lost
There is a cafe "Batki"... As an alternative, I recommend cooking "Irina service". There's one downside. You'll have to eat standing up. But they cook very well. The products are fresh. I especially recommend stuffed chicken legs, stuffed squid and pickled cabbage (a la Slutsky). Wonderful desserts)
Very decent, clean, tidy.well-maintained. the service is at the proper level. I would especially like to thank Maya Shevchuk, an employee of suburban ticket offices. She promptly helped me solve my problem .She is very pleasant to talk to .cultural , it is very pleasant when there is a natural warmth of the soul in a person .I remember it with gratitude
The train station of my childhood. Ticket offices on the 2nd floor and a waiting room. Cleanly as everywhere else, there is a currency exchange and a lot of illegal foreign currency traders on the forecourt.
If you come to Gomel and do not know where to start, you can rent a room in the station building (relax, wash).in the station building and nearby there are various cafes, shops,a hotel, a currency exchange, a pharmacy, a shopping center. The Palace of Culture is also here. there is a lot of transport that will take you anywhere in the city (taxis, buses, trolleybuses, minibuses).
It is usually said that the railway station is the business card of the city. In our case, I completely agree. The building, built 100 years ago, saw only putty and painting. It is a long time to wait for a high-quality restoration and probably useless. For the most part, the interior is of Soviet times, with stucco, columns, and a cement floor. There are no people at all, the cash registers are constantly empty, why keep such a number of cashiers is unclear, the reservation can be paid with a card while lying on the couch. And the number of routes has been significantly reduced. The waiting room is always empty. In general, the location of the station is good. All types and routes are nearby. The new station is already different from the old one. More modern, more developed infrastructure inside. Come and appreciate the station in your own way
A stunning massive structure. The parking lot is clean and well maintained. Opposite there is an alley where you can walk. There is a small shopping center nearby.
Quite a cozy train station for a small city, the station itself is quite large, a lot of things can be bought, there are plenty of places nearby where you can have a snack, there are enough storage rooms to throw things off and walk around the city
We were in the sanatorium 3 years ago: the treatment and attitude of the medical staff is excellent, there are many different procedures. The food is poor, the rooms are dead, the furniture is antique, the sound insulation is very poor. The only thing that saved was that the sanatorium was located within the city limits, it was possible to brighten up your leisure time. The territory is not bad, there was also an entertainment program. But I will not go to this sanatorium anymore.
The station is in good condition, which is confirmed by the photo frames I added. The building is double, consisting of an old, classic part that serves long-distance trains, and a newer one (built in the 90s) related to intra-regional routes.
Entering the main building of the railway station, you see that you are greeted by a large statue of a citizen, Comrade Lenin. It stands high, "looks far away." Going up the stairs past the statue, you can get to the waiting rooms, which are spacious and recently sparsely inhabited. The halls in the new wing are smaller, but people gather here. Only sometimes during my visits the queues at the ticket offices reached 5 people or more. I am glad that it is not necessary to take a passport to purchase tickets for cash and intra-Belarusian trips - this is still the case, unless, of course, you are carrying minor children.
P.S. It may take a month or even two to wait for my photos to appear on the public page. Photo moderation delays are so long now.
As a guest of the city, I really liked the station. There is a spacious waiting room, a cafe, places to charge smartphones. Between the first and second floors there is a mini-museum with railway paraphernalia from previous years.
It is inferior to other regional stations in comfort, but in general... Everything is there - toilet, food and charging for a mobile phone, which is necessary for a modern person)
A very cozy train station, there are places where you can have a snack and just sit and relax after the road. The staff is very polite. How many times have I been there, it's always very clean.
Florists are professionals in their field. A huge selection of flowers, souvenirs and postcards. I ordered delivery, everything was photographed and sent to WhatsApp, helped with the choice. I will definitely contact you again!
Thank you for the restoration of the old railway station!!!The station is always clean.there is always a place where you can eat hot dishes.withdraw money, etc.
Well done! It's beautiful and cozy. There is a place to eat. They cook delicious. Tex... toilets. Men don't care, but women's ones are like in an army company: a "point" without a toilet. Not right.
