Such a shame. The capital of Kazakhstan to have such train station where is no a single facility for people with disabilities. There are no facilities for all people. Cafes are in such antisanitarian conditionsm. Cold. Freaking cold inside. 🥶 entrance stairs are broken and again how to get the suitcase up. No facilities. Shame.

There is something to compare it with. Astana railway station is many times better than in Almaty! It's bigger, cleaner, there are a lot of crossings on the way, and not like in Almaty we ran along the tracks, in our time, it's just terrible. An escalator? The roof is flowing all over the station. In the rain, there are cans and buckets everywhere around the station - they collect water. Sometimes train stations look better in small towns. And here is the capital and such a disgrace.

So far, there is a feeling of comfort, mess and lack of control (the escalator often does not work in the transition to the 2-3 way - according to the law of meanness, usually on a holiday when passenger traffic increases. People are dragging suitcases up the narrow stairs and then down to the platform. You can also go through the lower underpass, but an escalator has never been provided there. There are a couple of points where you can charge a cell phone, but half of them work with sockets. USB is not connected to anything - it's just a trick. People are traveling in transit - nowhere without a cell phone today. Why are there so few charging points (20 pcs for the entire station)? At the entrance, there is a check through the metal detector frame (OK, security), where they offer to put your bags on a dirty tape, although there are containers for bags, but they will not give them to you - the station staff is just too lazy to do it. There are few seats - the station is crowded with passengers, so most of the trains pass through the old station. Although the new station is much more modern and comfortable. I used this service myself on July 15, 2024, there were no tickets, but it was necessary I went to Kostanay on July 16 and they found me and I left, thank them very much. Such wonderful, responsive people work there! Yes, he's old, but that's what he's famous for. The classic right bank does not need Nurly Zhol. I'm not saying it shouldn't be there, but the old train station is history, and it's still the life of many people. Stripped, with the skin torn off, with rusty streaks, is it really impossible to fix it? The people working there are wonderful, from barmaids and cleaners to cashiers and machinists. I came to show my son the train, and one just arrived. We entered the train station, where it is clean, calm, and everything is as usual. Together with the crowd of those leaving, they squeezed onto the platform. Bags are checked at the entrance through an X-ray. The train was stopping. We headed for the head. Station staff and police were on duty on the platform. After standing for the prescribed time, the train started moving. We conducted it, and almost reached the aboveground crossing to the sawmill. But it was cold, so we decided to go back and go to the 2nd and 3rd tracks through the closed passage at the station. After passing the first escalator, they entered into a dialogue with the woman on duty, who directed passengers to the arriving train. She suggested that for the sake of pleasure, on certain routes you can drive from the old railway station to Nurly Zhol. Later, when I came to the cashier, I ran into another friendly woman who told us the schedule and the price. About 200 tg in total. After going down to the train, we also met a wonderful conductor, who offered to go inside the car with the child during the parking lot, because he was wildly interested. We talked, saw her off, too, and returned to the train station. We ate the buns, and left very pleased with our excursion, taking note of the trip on the Atbasar train. The emotional impressions are pleasant. Not a single negative one.
