The station building was very modern at the time of construction. Beautiful, not very big, cozy. It was built in 1930- 1940. Pieces of the old building are still preserved on the territory of the station. Thanks to TURKSIB, a new building was built, which still greets and accompanies people every day. The area around the station has been cleared not very long ago. There was no park before. I really like this place in the city.

I was not impressed by the train station. It feels like the building has grown into the ground. The indistinct gray color makes it thicker and lower. When designing, the architects took into account both the color scheme and the location relative to other buildings. Now it feels like it is not taken into account. They were covered with gray tiles , the space around them was rebuilt-redrawn . it didn't work out very well. The staff is fine, everything is clean and tidy. Taxi without problems. Everything is organized The location - the city center - is very convenient. But, for those in a hurry, it's better not to go here and get off at Alma-Ata station 1. We waited 40 minutes before we went to Alma-Ata 2. Parking is organized, everything is fine here.

To get to the third and fourth paths, you need to: 1) run to the crossing 200 meters from the exit to the platform, with no escalator, etc. 2) try to slip between the trains on the first and second tracks. Bottom line: elderly people, people with sore legs, passengers with luggage - none of the options are suitable.
