It is very small, not convenient for large passenger traffic. Spontaneous trade on peron speaks about the lack of rules and order, in no case do I want to offend the people who do this, I understand that it is not from a good life and people need to earn money. Toilets are a separate topic, thanks to the cleaners who try to keep them clean, and the deplorable condition of the equipment in these rooms, this is not a question for them. In general, I was not impressed, it does not correspond to a developing city.

In my opinion, Almaty-2 railway station does not meet the interests of passengers at all: it is very crowded, there are uncomfortable metal seats in the waiting rooms and they are clearly not enough, people are crammed before sending trains - they can't get through, and everything is with luggage! Well, at least in summer you can spend waiting time on the platform, but there is also little space there... Kiosks and shops at the station work only in the middle of the day, for example, we left at 9:10 a.m. - none of them worked, so we couldn't buy any water or anything else for the road.
In short, if you leave or arrive via Almaty-2 train station, be fully equipped with everything you need - you can't count on the station's service!...
And one more drawback (I would even say a problem! ) - landing platforms! It's good if the train was served on the first track, but if on the second or third - a nightmare! After all, often another train is already on the first one, which means you have to go around it (with children, suitcases and bags, and over the rails or bridge), and someone tries to persuade the conductor to let them through his car, and if time is short (traffic jams, it's difficult to calculate the time accurately), it's generally a disaster... So everyone will get an adrenaline rush.
