For a resident of a million-plus city, this station is just creepy. The room is cold. It's like outside, but without the wind. Cash register, police, pawnshop and toilet. There are several metal benches, which are impossible to sit on because they are icy. I had to sit (or rather walk around the hall) there are 5.5 hours waiting for the train. There is a hotel somewhere (as the station staff said), but far away. 2 GIS will not help you. There are no taxi services. There is a rest room in the cafe near the train station, but they don't know anything about hoods, so you can suffocate in the cafe and in the rest room in the smoke of kitchen "aromas". I'm not exaggerating, it's really foggy in the cafe. And for 1 hour of rest in this "aroma room" they will ask for 1000 tenge. I only give a star to a very nice woman who serves as a station attendant there (she worked on 12/27/12).
