The view is amazing, be sure to take a tour on the castle's website (preferably 2 months in advance, they are sold out very quickly) you can take beautiful photos from the balcony and it is expensive / rich inside. On the tour, they give an audio guide with a choice of language (there was Russian). We arrived about 3 hours before closing time, there were not many people. They went up the hill on a cart with horses (there was a bus, but there was a longer queue).
A beautiful castle! An excellent location for shooting good views of nature, two castles of Louis the 14th (like this room of the reigning person), a beautiful waterfall in the gorge, swan lake (yes, that very lake!). Neuschwanstein Castle is located on a mountain, you can only get to the parking lot a mile from the castle itself. A rather steep, ornate road leads up, about 1.5-2km. Tourist layout: first, you stand in an hour-long queue at the bottom and take a ticket, and only after you find out that it's far and difficult for you to go) but for a coin, after standing in about the same queue, you can get on a horse-drawn cart pulled by a powerful horse (or two, I don't remember anymore) you will be taken to the castle itself. I've been there three times, but it broke me to stand on a horse, and even pay for it, especially since gorgeous photo spots open along the way, there are benches where you can relax at every turn of the road, and most importantly, a prize awaits you at the finish: a branch of the Hofbrohaus!))) a 10-dollar knuckle and a delicious HB beer! On Christmas days, I also remember drinking mulled wine either at the end of the journey or in the middle... I do not remember) The castle itself is large inside, but unfinished, preserved in this unfinished form (in fact, Louis did not complete the decoration, as I understood, either died, or went to Rostov to live after the coup in Bavaria). An ordinary Bavarian very large castle. But there is a secret location to the right of the castle: the passage is closed, but you can go around the forest, and you get to the place above the castle: the bridge over the waterfall! It takes your breath away when you stand there, now I remember how the legs gave way on it))) From the bridge, you can contemplate a magnificent view of Swan lake, which was inspired by Tchaikovsky. Yes, the castle itself, according to legend, inspired Walt Disney to create the logo of his studio) But this is not accurate))) You need to pick photos from the disk, sorry, it breaks, as well as waiting for a horse😁😁😁
I advise everyone to go there if possible. There's also a gorgeous road from Munich, the lake at the foot of the Alps just shocked me with its beauty. In general, you understand me)
Neu-Schwanstein Castle (almost broke my tongue)... translates as SWAN STONE. In 1869, it began to be built at the behest of King Ludwig 2. Relatively recently. After they forgot Napoleon's campaign, it turns out. Gothic style. On the mountain ... and it's not so easy to get there, although there is a road, but going uphill, even on the road, is not an easy task. They offered to ride in a carriage with a horse... they refused. We decided to feel the beauty of the moment with our feet. And how evil the snow fell at that time.
The castle is not big. It is organized as a museum: a bedroom, an office, a ceremonial hall and a dining room. We went somewhere else. In general, everything is fleeting and there is little left in my memory, except ... a snack at the end. A small buffet. We got sparkling wine, rolls and broth. Everything that happened at that moment. By the way, the castle has become a Disney prototype. Which is why it is associated with a fairy tale.
Visited this romantic castle of the Bavarian king on 09/16/2024 Ludwig II near the town of Fussen, as part of a group of tourists like me... Groups of tourists go one by one... In 5-10 minutes... It's impossible to really see anything... You can't even take pictures on your smartphone?!
The lock is huge, but they only drive in 6-7 rooms?! The romantic mood disappeared very quickly... 20 minutes - and everyone is free!.. Then there is a cafe about nothing, souvenir shops, a view from the balcony and that's it... If someone wants to put a check mark that he was here, then you are here... Connoisseurs of history and antiquity have nothing to do on such excursions... It is best to admire this fabulous castle from the outside... Read literature... The administration of the castle could be recommended to conduct VIP tours on certain days and hours with an ordinary guide and the opportunity to leave photos of this romantic castle as a souvenir... Of course, for a LOT of money!..
We went to Bavaria from Prague for two days. The castle is stunningly beautiful , the photos here are cool . Beautiful view from the suspension bridge, but you need to wait until there are fewer people. It will take about thirty minutes to climb up to the castle by a long ascent , this is the only inconvenience . There are a lot of visitors, but it does not bother.
Going to celebrate the New Year in Bavaria, we decided that we would go to the Alps for one day. To be more precise, we will visit Neuschweinstein Castle. This fabulous castle was seen in old books as a child. He is considered one of the most romantic in the world. And for good reason. 🏰
At one time, Walt Disney was inspired by him when he created the company's logo.
Let's get back to the trip. The path was not close. To get to it, we got up at 6 a.m. and arrived at Munich Central Station.
There we bought a “Bavarian train ticket". This ticket allows you to travel by train to Fussen there / back, and additionally it provides free bus travel to the municipality of Schwangau (which is next to the castle). And it is also profitable. The cost of the "Bavarian ticket" is 25 €. But if you buy a ticket for several people, then each subsequent passenger is charged at a price of € 6.
And so, we boarded the train, wrote the names on the ticket (with a regular pen) and went to the castle. Ahead of us was a three-hour route with views of the Alpine Mountains, meadows and lakes.
When we got to Fussen, we took a bus that took us to the end point. Next, it was necessary to overcome 1.5 km on foot into the mountains. Every time he appeared from behind trees and rocks, emotions overwhelmed us and motivated us to go faster.
After entering the courtyard through the massive gate, we walked along its streets and headed to the bridge, which offers the most instagrammable view of the castle. But there was disappointment: the bridge was closed for repairs.😔
Of course, neither we nor other tourists could stop it. We went a little off the tourist route to a mountain hill and among the trees there was a better view of Neuschwanstein and the valley. The castle appeared in all its glory. It is especially amazing how it grows out of the rock.
Time seems to stop here.
After looking at this beauty for the last time, we went down to the bus, where the way back to Munich was waiting for us…
Today it is one of the most popular attractions in Germany.
The castle is located in the town of Hohenschwangau, near the town of Fussen, in Bavaria, in southern Germany. Neuschwanstein is open daily. The visit is possible only as part of the tour. It is forbidden to take photos inside.
There are three ways to get to Neuschwanstein Castle in 2024:
1️⃣Buy tickets at the foot of the castle
2️⃣Purchase tickets in advance on the official website
3️⃣Book an excursion from Munich
The price of an adult ticket at the box office and online is 13€.
I recommend Neuschwanstein Castle.
We ordered a bus tour from Munich. On the way we stopped in the village of Oberammengau. I remember it very much: painted houses, a sea of flowers, comfort and cleanliness. The final destination is the Schwangau Valley. There is a wonderful lake where you can swim, and two castles: Hohenschwangau and a little further Neuschwanstein. Both are good, but Neuschwanstein is something amazing, a fairy tale, a fantasy! It is definitely worth a visit, it is impressive.
A fabulous place, a castle with a Disney screensaver!
A long climb up the mountain is brightened up by a magnificent view of the castle and the valley below!
Located in the Schwangau valley, on a mountain, it looks fabulous when you look from below, for example from a bus at the castle, it is very fascinating in the rooms, the interior is antique and being among such decoration is unusual and cool, large paintings on the walls, ceiling paintings and a large chandelier with candles, a bed made of dark wood, breathtaking! I immediately remember all the fairy tales that I watched before, it seemed that all the antiquity and decoration were not real, but once in a place where people actually lived in such a way of life, it was as if they were thrown out of modernity and carried into the past for real! It feels like I'm living there myself now!
We visited the castle in 2019. It's a beautiful castle, it's very beautiful around. Minus, of course, a lot of people. But when you walk through the halls of the castle and go out onto the upper balcony, you can see such a view (Alpine lakes, Hohenschwangau - the ancestral home of the Wittelsbachs), you begin to understand King Ludwig II.
A beautiful fairy-tale castle on a mountain in the middle of a forest, but to be honest, it seemed to me that it did not look very much like the castle from the Disney screensaver, if you walk to it from below, be patient, for quite a long time, but it's worth it, there is a beautiful forest around
A beautiful place for walking.
The nature around the castle is impressive in its beauty.
The ascent and descent there is certainly not easy, but it's worth it.
A fabulous castle in a fabulous forest. An unforgettable experience. A convenient tourist route in Europe. We traveled from the Czech Republic to the Alps by bus. There are many souvenir shops, food courts, you can take pictures in any place. A wonderful journey.
A fabulous place and its surroundings! An unforgettable experience for a lifetime. It was definitely worth it to come to this castle from near Stuttgart. I recommend it to everyone to visit... It is a pity that it is not yet clear whether it will be possible to come to Germany again.
It's an incredibly beautiful place. I was there on Christmas Eve and the castle itself was closed. In those days, there were few tourists and there was almost no one on the Maria Bridge. If you have a chance to get closer to the Alps while in Germany, please do not ignore this call!
In 2009 and again in 2024, she visited her beloved Bavaria. And it is inconceivable without Neuschwanstein. It's a pity, it's forbidden to take pictures inside the castle. It's worth seeing! This is the pearl of Germany.
Everyone who comes to Bavaria for the first time must visit this castle, it is iconic and iconic. Good access and horse-drawn ascent. There were no queues for tickets.
The most beautiful views in early autumn
The place is very beautiful

I was there in 2010. Nicely. The nature around is amazing, the Alps. The castle itself became the prototype for the Disney logo. And the story of who built it is also interesting.
A stunningly beautiful castle, I have dreamed of visiting it for many years. It was very interesting on an excursion inside the castle, but it was even cooler to walk around the mountains, there is a very beautiful mountain river with waterfalls nearby, a suspension bridge above it, there are several observation decks overlooking the castle. The town nearby is also very cozy, we spent two days in it with pleasure. We were in April, now it would be nice to come back in autumn, when the forest will be in autumn decoration.
A fabulous place, especially the forest mountain trails. Wonderful nature and a gorgeous lake where you can swim and go boating, and even just sit on the shore under the trees, inhaling the scent of alpine meadows!
A great place to spend a couple of days.
There are a lot of tourists, parking lots are full. Prices bite... It will be possible to sit comfortably and have a nice meal only 15-20 kilometers from the castle. (I drove a car).
Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The family is happy with the visit. For a comfortable trip, you need German. There are few English-speaking staff...
An incredibly popular typical tourist place. A new building without a really long history and a bit like a set. Of the obvious disadvantages, there are a huge number of people, there is nothing to see inside, I assert this as a resident of St. Petersburg (3.5 dark rooms that cannot be entered). At the same time, the entire micro tour takes place at a running pace and costs about 15 euros for 15 minutes. One, he's the only plus - incredible views on the way to the castle and on its observation deck. I recommend visiting exclusively along the way, if there are other excursions in the region.
I recommend it to everyone! The castle is impressive, the place is very beautiful and the time of bygone eras is felt, it's a pity there are a lot of people.. A tour of the surrounding area along the wonderful Alpsee lake and another beautiful castle on the small Hohenschwangau rock. If you visit the nearest towns and villages by car, which are very picturesque, try local pastries and coffee.
It's just a wonderful, fabulous place! Despite the abundance of tourists, it is very pleasant and comfortable on the territory. There is a park in which it is also pleasant to walk. Very beautiful!
The place is very impressive. It is extremely beautiful and picturesque. The lake and the rocks are fascinating! An amateur museum. The castle and the views from the territory are cool! I highly recommend visiting this place!
Neuschwanstein Castle (German: Schloß Neuschwanstein [nɔyʃvanʃtain], literally: "New Swan Stone (cliff)") is a romantic castle of the Bavarian King Ludwig II near the town of Fussen and Hohenschwangau Castle in southwestern Bavaria, near the Austrian border. It was created not only as a private residence, but also as a tribute to the famous composer Richard Wagner. It is a tourist attraction.
The castle appeared in the cartoon "Sleeping Beauty" and became the prototype for the construction of the "Disney Castle".
