The building itself is designed well. Fortunately, it was made with a Soviet margin of safety. An earthquake of moderate severity, I think, will survive without problems. The problem is that there is no normal owner of this structure, everyone has been stealing from it for decades under all rulers and states. There were a huge number of waiting areas on the second floor (I remember when it was different), but everything has been closed there for 20 years. A lot of money is piled into the right-hand annex, in which it is unknown what. A few years ago, the platform was paved with paving slabs. In general, there is no owner who would like and could develop this.
Old, dirty, in a deplorable state, like everything in Nikolaev ((Since the 90s (I remember him like that since childhood) has not changed for the better in any way... Nobody needs it
The station is modest, there are few places to relax.Peron is not equipped for waiting, there are no benches. It is difficult for people with disabilities and just with a suitcase or children to walk through the upper passage.
The most terrible train station I've ever seen. Toilets in the basement, flushes are not working (at the moment the toilet is not working, closed for repairs). The toilet on the platform is cold. It is dirty, there is a bad smell in the station premises. There are no ATMs or banking terminals at the station. There is a stall with newspapers and goods for the road.
I liked it: visual and timely information, cleanliness, goodies for the road and cold drinks.
I didn't like it: there are few seats in the waiting room.
