This memorial is dedicated to the first salvo of Katyusha rocket-propelled mortars, which was fired in July 1941. It was installed in 1966 in honor of the 25th anniversary of those events. The monument consists of three parts. The first part is a mock-up of the Katyusha, the second part is the white guides pointing into the sky, and the third part is a cube with information with the date of the first salvo of the famous Katyusha - July 14, 1941.
