Sri Lanka is, in general, a very green island, full of all kinds of animals. And Yala National Park is definitely one of those places worth going on safari. Sophisticated tourists who have visited African safaris in Kenya or South Africa are unlikely to be impressed by it, but it will leave pleasant impressions for the rest.
Don't expect to see any leopards! Although they are full of all the advertising booklets and billboards of the reserve itself. These wild cats are very careful and the chance of encountering them is 10% out of a hundred...

It's a cool park, it's beautiful, especially at sunset. Not Africa, of course, but decent too. The only drawback is that it is far from the infrastructure. There is not enough toilet somewhere at the entrance.

Hi all, went to this place by the tour operator, at a cost of $ 40 per person, first of us arrived with a delay of 2 hours, and I'm sorry we got up at 5:00 and 6:00 for us was to come, okay, God bless them, on Unawatuna to go there almost 2 hours, until everyone together turned out another hour and eventually got there by 12:00, we were put in an open jeep 6-8 people, all the rules but to climb up there it was hard, elderly and overweight people generally tin, I thought it would be a trip on Safari alone with the animals, but it was more like a race with the same jeep from other groups of about 15-20 cars went for each other and as soon as someone saw some of the beast, all crammed in there and waited their turn to see our first child was a forest cock local enthusiastically yelled and shoved us somewhere in the bushes, at first I was thinking that there is a dinosaur, but alas it was 🐓, in General, the whole trip took us about 3 hours, during this time we saw a small crocodile, Buffalo, peacocks, deer, very far from the elephant, lizards, iguanas and monkeys and all this, the place will not say WAH AS a BEAUTIFUL, messy since all roads do, plain bushes and trees and sometimes very dusty, at the end we were taken to a local cafe with dishes like everywhere but the prices are higher and the home. My verdict, there are other national parks, I advise you to read the reviews first and then go, I would not come back here, but for those who do not mind all day or just have nothing to do WELL, good luck and have a good rest.

A delightful place! We were lucky and saw a lot of animal species. And elephants with a baby elephant, and a leopard, even mongooses. Besides the other inhabitants! And all in 3 hours of walking in a comfortable jeep. I recommend it!

An interesting nature reserve. We had a safari for 12 hours. Of the animals, almost no one has been seen, except for those who already live there and do not grimace. Buffaloes, peacocks, many birds and monkeys.I liked the elephant, but he was met along the road, not in the park.
Interesting, but not for a full day.
