Brest Fortress is one of the most poignant places in Brest. It gives me goosebumps from the feeling of solemn sorrow. The people in Belarus are amazing! The way they cherish and honor this memory arouses sincere respect.
Very well maintained territory, everything is done with love. Every year, children help to keep things in order, remove the grass growth between the tiles, thereby joining in the preservation of the place, memory. It's nice to be here. There are paths and bike paths around the casemates. There is a huge territory, so even when there are a lot of visitors, it is very comfortable to walk here.
The Eastern Redoubt is not a museum, you can climb into the casemates and walk along the corridors. It's dark, quite dusty, and there are a lot of broken bricks.
But the museum has at least cut down all the trees on the redoubt, and is probably preparing the redoubt for restoration and placement of the exhibition.
In general, the place is quite wild, but for lovers of abandoned objects it will be interesting.
After visiting the Brest fortress, take an hour and a half and go to this location. The newly restored place conveys the atmosphere and way of life of the defenders very well. Take your time and try to get acquainted with all the exhibits of the museum. This is our story - our Life!
