In the morning, we met with the guide at this gate, and from here our acquaintance with the history of Baku and its inhabitants began. In the evening, we enjoyed immersing ourselves in the atmosphere of the old city, wandering through the narrow streets, inhaling the aromas of oriental cuisine, and visiting numerous souvenir shops.
We lived inside the Old City - it was atmospheric.

An excellent historical place in Baku.We visited for two days, both in the afternoon and in the evening. Good tourist maps of the fortress of old Gorda are given at the entrance by tourism managers. Everyone watched and even saw a scene from the diamond hand accidentally played by the same tourists. We had fun!

Paired fortress gates or Shamakhi gates (Azerbaijan. Qoşa Qala qapıları "Gosha Gala gapılary" or Azerbaijan. Şamaxı qapısı "Shamakhy gapısı") — the gate located in the northern wall of the Baku fortress. It's a beautiful place.

You can use a stroller, but not everywhere. I didn't see a toilet, there is only one on the embankment.

The gate is located in the Old Town, there used to be one passage. Arriving travelers were examined by a doctor for signs of cholera and plague. Then they were let through and immediately led to the bathhouse to the left of the gate. All the travelers' clothes were burned, and animals were treated with a cleaning compound right there on the square. All these measures contributed to the fact that there were no outbreaks of the plague. Next to the gate in the new part is Naziya Street, which is pedestrian.

Recall the movie Diamond Hand. The scene from which was filmed there with the fall at the pharmacy. Prices in the fortress are 2.5 times higher. It's not worth buying and sitting in restaurants.

Gosha Gala Gate or Paired gate - entrance (entrance by car is paid, there is a barrier). One of the convenient entrances to the Old Town (Icheri Sheher), there is Parking for cars. The Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan is nearby. At the exit to the left is a park with a fountain, a little further is the fountain square.
