Octagonal towers are monuments of industrial architecture built in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. One of them was built in 1890, the other in 1905. Their construction was connected with the creation of the city's first water supply system on the initiative of the All-Russian Joint-Stock Water Company. In 1982, the vodokanal transferred the towers to the Grodno regional organization of the NGO "Belarusian Union of Artists".
In this tower, on the ground floor, there is a wonderful sculptor and man named Vladimir Panteleev.
Read about these two towers-young ladies. Very interesting. It's beautiful near them. The union of artists is currently working on assignments. There are ornate sculptures near the towers. A fat cat on a chain is especially good... I recommend
One of the attractions is worth a look.We came in the evening and took a photo. The gate was open, we walked freely through the territory of the creative workshop, looked at the sculptures made of stone.
A beautiful architectural ensemble. Located in the city center within walking distance. They are visible from several angles. You can do good photo shoots. And artists can paint great paintings. There are several creative workshops inside.
An architectural monument. It is worth a look to understand the architecture of the beautiful Grodno more widely. It's a pity that they only saw it from the outside (August 2024). Either they were late, or the towers don't work at all. But the photos turned out to be voluminous
Beautiful towers: Kasia and Basia. Across the street is the KVD, where you can admire this beauty around the clock, if you are unlucky with a partner.😱
An interesting building that you never get tired of looking at. There is almost the same Basia nearby. "Girls" differ a little in appearance, but at the beginning of the 20th century, of course, it was clearly not an ordinary case to build these beauties. Now the Belarusian Union of Artists lives there. Well, that's right, because art is born next to art. Very beautiful towers. And after all, for so many years I did not pay attention to their appearance and to them in general...
Kasia and Basia are two Gothic-style water towers. For architecture lovers. There is nothing to write in more detail, since tons of information about Grodno can be found in the public domain.
The appearance of these objects of industrial architecture (and now famous landmarks) is associated with the beginning of the Grodno water pipeline, which began to be built in 1877 with the participation of the All–Russian Joint-Stock Water Company.
The western (pink) tower was erected in 1890, and the eastern (yellow, located closer to the railway track) – not earlier than 1915. Both 22-meter towers are built in the eclectic style; urban rumor has dubbed them "Kasia" and "Basia". No one remembers where these names came from today, but there is a version that before the war there was an accounting department of a water utility in one tower, where a certain Basia (Barbara) worked, and Kasia (Katarzyna) worked as a caretaker in the next one. At the end of the XX century, these original buildings with richly decorated facades housed the creative workshops of the Grodno branch of the Union of Artists of Belarus.
It was nice to be near another Grodno business card. However, they seemed a little abandoned. We thought artists and sculptors would work there. M.B. hid somewhere. We even saw some of the masters' works. They stood between the towers and made a wish. Now it will be our family tradition.
Beauty. After all, our ancestors built it.It is good that there are people (organizations)who monitor (restore) the monuments. There will be something to show to children, grandchildren, and visiting people. After all, it's healthy to walk around the old city, see how people lived and built before us.
Such funny names: Kasia, Basia))) It's a sin not to look. By the way, they are located in a good location, there is a clearing nearby with a wonderful view of the city
The towers are not far from other attractions, the right one is closed and you can go to the left one and climb up, but the premises were given to an artist to work there and tourists are not particularly liked, but we were lucky the man got talking and told a lot about the towers and about the history of the city. And the room for art workshops is a building between the towers....
Good afternoon. I happen to be near these towers at this moment. I really like it. I wish more people would see it. Many people don't even know. This is where Sverdlov Street is located. The hospital is against it. There used to be a railway hospital.
These towers appear somehow suddenly. You're walking down the street, suddenly - bang! Kasia and Basia. And their names are interesting, and they look unusual next to each other. There is also a courtyard with miniature sculptures. It is a very original architectural monument, I recommend visiting Grodno - it is very close to the center.
Two towers. Kasia and Basia. One is pink, the other is yellow. However, the residents of Grodno no longer remember which of them is Kasia and which is Basia. I really wanted to see these towers, and I did not regret that I reached them.

According to one version, the towers housed a water utility and in one tower sat Basia, who signed contracts, and in the second Kasia, from whom it was possible to pay. This is where the name of the two towers came from.
Workshops of Grodno artists are located in the towers, there is no observation deck at the top. And there is no two-storey building next to me, in which there is a girl who is tired of telling everyone about it! If you've read about the observation deck somewhere, they're lying!!!
Two towers standing next to each other, with funny names, were built at the beginning of the century, completely preserved. I didn't get inside, it's beautiful outside)I like such buildings)
It is difficult to add to the already known information:
"Kasia and Basia are names in Polish (the Russian version is Ekaterina and Varvara).
That's how they decided to name two water towers with eight faces, which rise more than 20 meters above the ground.
Since "Kasia" and "Basia" were built in the 19th and 20th centuries, they are considered monuments of industrial construction.
To date, art workshops are located inside the towers, so a visit to "Kasi" and "Basi" will be interesting to all those who are not indifferent to painting paintings."
It's a beautiful place. They say there is an exhibition of paintings inside the towers, but it was not possible to get in, it was closed. There is a small exhibition of stone sculptures nearby.
