Vitebsk Zoo is very famous for its parking lot. I don't like to look at animals kept in pens. But parking is free here. And this is the center of the city. So use it until there are changes.

A normal zoo. It's not super clean inside. But the territory is well-groomed, the animals walk straight along the paths (swans, roosters) . Of course, the children are delighted, they did not leave the goats. We took a lot of interesting photos. A very well-fed jaguar, it was already shining. Since the animals molt in the summer, in my opinion, the animals are being watched.

Madame at the checkout did not let a disabled child and a child under three years old into the zoo. We arrived at 4:35 p.m., we were told that the ticket office was closed and you would not go inside, but sorry, the children are free. What we were told , I don 't need to put pressure on pity . She was rude to us , everything was recorded on camera . When asked to give a complaint book , they were refused . I urge the zoo administration to take measures against this employee. The print remained disgusting . We drove through the whole city with the children . The website says one schedule, in fact another. Word of mouth is spreading fast, and I will already try to make it as widespread as possible!!!

I would like to draw attention to the fact that the aviary with rabbits stands on an asphalt surface and the animals do not have grass and branches at all . And this is their main diet in addition to hay, since these animals have a need for grinding Teeth that grow throughout their lives. I ask the zoo staff to pay attention to this and move the aviary to the green zone, as well as adjust the nutrition of these animals.

We tried to get in for 2 days, on the first day it turned out to be a day off (Tuesday), we looked at the schedule near the entrance and it was written Wed-Sun until 19:00, for the sake of the children we arrived the next day at 17:40, the schedule was completely different and it turns out the zoo was already closed and open until 18:00. We came from another city and it's a shame that they change the schedule as they want and when they want. The animals were never shown to the children, thank you! We could have left some information that a schedule change is possible after the weekend!

It's just a nightmare. Animal welfare conditions are beyond good and evil. Two swans in a 2*2 dug hole with a tarpaulin splashing in dirty water.. Nutrias bathe in an iron bath, where the water has also never been changed.. The fox is skinny, dirty, rushing around in a small cage, just running in circles, and it looks creepy. It was a pity to look at the stork - dirty and sad, he did not raise his head. The wolf looked out for a couple of seconds, and looked like a mangy dog that had not been fed for a long time.
There is dirt everywhere, and the animals do not have water or food. It is not cleaned in the pens.
After visiting the zoo, there was a depressing impression, it is unclear where the positive feedback came from. I am very sorry for the animals.

When we looked at the zoo area, we thought that there would be fewer animals, so we were pleasantly surprised. Of course, the main king is the bison. I admit: they didn't care about the prohibition to touch him, because, according to my feelings, the bison itself was just reaching out to people, wanted attention.
Admission costs less than 5 Belarusian rubles (150 Russian). Convenient location in the city center.
The only wish is to update the asphalt on the tracks.

Some of the animals were not in the enclosures . When they brought the cubs and gave the hockey club a cuddle, people had a desire to touch these guys too. Groups were organized where you could watch the baby bear. Yes, most of the groups were already formed far ahead. Yes, well done for the organization. But I want to mention the girl who answers the phone. Very incorrect and rude. All the desire to go to the zoo is being discouraged. It requires a lot of tact and communication skills.
The question is also not clear with the help. On Instagram, they post on the page that help is needed, but when they call, they rudely answer that nothing is needed! Impressions of the zoo are 9/10, the attitude of the staff towards people is 2/10.

We visited the zoo during a vacation in the Republic of Belarus. Every time we visit Belarus, we are surprised at how carefully forestry management is organized and a visit to the zoo in Vitebsk upset us very much.
During a visit to the zoo, after entering the zoo, we were met by a stork.
Since we were previously at the Munich Zoo, where flocks of flamingos walk in the pavilion and meet visitors.
We decided that this is normal for the Vitebsk zoo, but it's hard to understand that the bird's wings are clipped, or it's such a training.
Then we saw that the bird was trying to scare smaller creatures, children - zoo visitors.
Then a couple more storks appeared, dirty and emaciated.
And first one appeared, then several zoo guards, who first began to chase the birds with their hands,
and then appeared with a net and began to catch the bird.
There was only one stork left, probably dirty and exhausted managed to be driven by fright.
The bird was caught as best they could and carried inside the premises, the storks were not presented to visitors.
During a visit to the zoo, the howl or roar of an animal that is apparently sick or punished was periodically heard, we did not see who it was, either a bear or a tiger, the roar of a terribly unhappy creature.
Cages with animals, not to mention dirt and an obvious lack of love and care, are arranged so that somewhere the animals are clearly freezing, pressed into each other, dirt and flies.
The cage with the beaver is made so that it is open to the eyes from all sides, which creates obvious stress and discomfort to the animal, which is cramped and lying in an earthen pit.
Sick wolf, rotten meat in cages, which animals are clearly not interested in.
The big Eagle bird is under stress, no one is obviously putting things in order in the cage there is weed and dirt, the cage itself is clearly insufficient for the size of a large bird.
Probably all they saw was this temporary phenomenon, the zoo director got sick or there was a restructuring, the zoo was deprived of the budget, and this is clearly just a disaster for the zoo's inhabitants.
We will try to contact the city administration and environmental organizations of the republic in the near future to change the situation.
Animals cannot change their position in any way, if someone can help, please help and go see what is happening next to you.
We will be glad if the situation changes and the storks will again be available, healthy and beautiful for general viewing and the joy of zoo visitors.

Drinking bowls in cages of small rodents with mold and green water. All possible conditions of keeping absolutely all animals of this zoo have been violated. It would be better to distribute the unfortunate animals to other zoos, where they would be cared for and this shame would be closed. Torment for animals who end their little lives in this terrible place. Shame.

Almost every visit to Vitebsk is not complete without a visit to the zoo. There's just no way to get the youngest son out of there. The entrance price is symbolic. But it's a pity that the zoo is in complete decline. It's good that the children don't see it. They squeak with delight. There are monkeys, jaguar, kangaroo, llamas, camel, domestic animals, etc. I would really like to see the zoo renovated, tinted. In general, it is clean and well maintained, but everything is kind of old, crumbling. And they work there like a naked enthusiasm. Hopefully, the situation will change for the better. The assessment is only for emotions and respect for employees who do not let what is left fall apart.
