Probably the most unusual monument, which was erected in honor of a real person. The monument to Fyodor Makhnov is two meters and eighty-five centimeters high. Such was the growth of this Vitebsk resident. His fate is very interesting, and there are always a lot of people around the monument who take photos of the Vitebsk giant.
When I saw this sculpture and learned that Fyodor Andreevich Makhnov, a peasant from the Vitebsk province of the Russian Empire, is still the tallest man in the world (with a height of 285 cm), I was amazed. The sculpture is made in the real growth of this Makhnovist. That's how our countryman distinguished himself!
I was amazed at the height of this man, because they claim that he is life-size! I don't know if it's a legend or true, but it was interesting to visit accompanied by a guide.
