Attention! Burglaries at the Villas of the landlord L.A. Mer Homes.
We had a vacation in September 2019 with our parents.
One evening (between 20:00-22:00) we were robbed at Villa Galina #22. The robbers broke down the back door and got inside while we were in the cafe. Passports, money, credit cards, car documents, keys, personal belongings were stolen from us. The robbers stole everything that was in the locked safe along with the safe. On the same evening, another villa near us was robbed. This was reported by the police, who arrived on our call. The scenario is the same. The robbers purposefully went after the safe, as all the things were in their places and we did not immediately understand what had happened in our absence. The loss of the safe was noticed only when empty packages from our travel suitcase were found in one of the rooms and it was not found in the closet. Presumably, the safe was loaded into a suitcase for convenience and distraction.
Thus, we were left without documents and funds to continue our vacation. The mood is completely ruined.
Despite full compliance with all instructions (locking all doors, windows), we lost our property, documents and our money. If we had been at home at the time of the robbery, we could have been physically assaulted by the robbers.
Neither the police nor the landlord were surprised by this incident on the island. For them, this is a common situation during the tourist season. Knowing that such robberies happen all the time, the landlord did not equip the Villa with burglar protection, there is no alarm system and the safe is simply bolted to the closet. They also did not warn about the additional. insurance. In general, a vacation in a villa is a constant control of your property. It is absolutely impossible to leave anything in the safes either during your stay, or even more so in your absence.
L.A. Mer Homes refused to deal with our problem, said they didn't have to do anything and shrugged their shoulders, smiling sweetly in our face. In response to the email address, there is also complete indifference.
All communication with clients is conducted only by managers and a receptionist. It is impossible to achieve management contacts. He also does not happen in the office. I also draw your attention to the fact that leaving a deposit (500 euros), be prepared for fines not for serious damage to the house, but for small things. For example, if you did not throw your garbage out of the buckets when you left, the fine is 150 euros. If the ashes have not been removed from the grill – 100 euros. If you have not reset the password on the safe – 100 euros. For such small things, you can pay double the price for accommodation.
If someone finds themselves in a similar situation on the island of Cyprus, please respond.
