Here, words of comfort and warning were uttered to the women of Jerusalem:"And a great multitude of people and women followed Him, weeping and weeping for Him. But Jesus turned to them and said, "Daughters of Jerusalem! Do not weep for Me, but weep for yourself and for your children, for the days are coming when they will say: Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that have not given birth... then they will begin to tell the mountains: fall on us! And to the hills: cover us! For if they do this to a green tree, then what will happen to a dry one? .."
