The Kokkol mine, a unique mining monument, was located on the Upper Camp at the foot of Belukha. It is located in the valley of the Bolshoy Kokkol River, it is a left tributary of the Belaya Berel. The Kokkol deposit was discovered by geologist A. Nikonov in 1936, and in 1938, work began on the extraction of tungsten and molybdenum by hand and the construction of a residential and work settlement. Imagine what it's like to work in picturesque conditions, at an altitude of 3,000 meters, but in winter and summer to mine ore! The mine worked until 1954. Due to the cold climate, all buildings and equipment have been preserved and represent a stunning open-air museum!
