At first, we were very happy that Varka had opened in our area, but apparently we won't go there anymore.
Yesterday morning, August 17, when approaching the coffee shop, we saw two baristas smoking and sitting on the threshold at the entrance. Okay, smoking is not a crime. The baristas saw us, got up from the doorway, put out their cigarettes and went into the coffee shop with us.
While we were choosing what we would take, we expected them to wash their hands after the street and cigarettes. But no, they put on aprons and began to serve people (after us, people also came in).
Naturally, any desire to take something was discouraged, and we left.
Washing your hands is the basic hygiene you expect from a barista. Where is the guarantee that they wash their hands after the toilet, if after the street and cigarettes they do not see the need for it.

I am a long-time fan of the Varka network. Unfortunately, this point disappointed with the service. The interior, desserts and coffee are excellent, but the irritated baristas who almost throw orders on your table are very depressing (there were two of us, we were alone in the establishment). I still don't understand why visitors should be responsible for the barista's fatigue and irritability. I don't want to go back there even with such an airy exotic interior at all.

I visited Varka coffee shops very often, but today the desire disappeared after a visit to the coffee shop at Matusevich 70.
The interior is interesting, the place is good, but the service is at 0.
At the time of the visit, no more than 8 people were sitting at the tables in the coffee shop, i.e. the hall was not completely filled. There were 2 people in the queue that I joined (we were together and the order was 1). I stood for about 10 minutes, and the people in front also started to get indignant. In response, the psychos heard one of the bassists shouting that they were not in time (let me remind you there were not many people in the hall and there was a queue). Finally, the couple in front of me were served.
I didn't have time to open my mouth to make an order - I wanted to take a pie with me - they pointed me to the door. Like they don't have time, they don't accept a lot of checks and orders. The people in the queue behind me were as taken aback as I was, turned around and left.
Questions to the owners:
1) if the baristas (there are 2 of them now) do not have time, then take more people.
2) warn that orders are not accepted in advance, and not when people have stood in line for 10 minutes. The workers could have told people not to stand and wait. And not to freak out at the first question
As I understood it, the employees typed online orders, and the people who came to the coffee shop themselves turned out to be superfluous.
They didn't have time to open, but they already managed to ruin the reputation of the entire network

Obscene language, attitude towards the guests, constant laughter, loud communication among themselves ... I will not come here anymore, unfortunately. I live nearby and I like to go into Cooking, but this attitude just spoils the whole concept of the institution. Alas.
