The collection of late Antique ceramics, bronze and much more is of fantastic quality and representativeness.
Perhaps the most thoughtful art and historical museum in the country.
If you are not archaeologists or art historians, it is better to book a tour in Russian or English or join it.
There is a good selection of merch, books and albums in the museum shop - we liked it more than in the large collections in Tbilisi.
The museum is definitely worth a separate trip from Kutaisi, at least.

A very interesting exposition. Modern design. It is possible to book a tour in three languages. You can explore the excavation sites on the ground.

We visited this museum last year. We took a guide in Russian, told everything in detail and interestingly. The museum is in very good condition, each copy is illuminated. Also, excavations are still underway.
I recommend visiting if you are in the area.
