Only the advantages. The room was on the ground floor (for four people). It has its own terrace, so it feels like you're alone in a hotel without neighbors. The interior is modest, but that's enough. The biggest advantage is the proximity to the ocean and the most beautiful road to the beach. There is always hot water, a shared refrigerator on the second floor. Towels are changed on request. Mugs, glasses, and appliances can be provided if you ask). Four-poster beds. Of course, there are enough mosquitoes in the room, it is advisable to have a fumigator.
A wonderful villa for a relaxing holiday, near the Indian Ocean! She lived in a double room. Everything was for comfort. There is a separate, equipped kitchen. Breakfast was included in the room rate. The basis of breakfast: fried eggs, omelette in different variations, toast, butter, jam. A choice of tea or coffee. Since coffee in Sri Lanka is not very good, they drank Ceylon tea. Breakfast was served at the right time for me. The table was served on the outdoor terrace. There is a well-kept garden around, birds, chipmunks, one day, Monkeys "hung out" on the wires). The beach is 8-10 minutes away, but the truth is on a busy road. There is a fruit stand at the turn to the beach, by the way, the prices are the lowest in the village.
The owner of the villa is a very pleasant woman. She has two guys as assistants. They behaved very correctly, they did not impose themselves. The rest left a pleasant impression!
In general, everything was not bad, being there, walking around, you don't notice any flaws. A wonderful manager, ready to help solve any problem, always smiling staff, a gorgeous swimming pool, walking distance to the ocean. There was no declared safe or refrigerator in the room, everything that had an iPhone charger burned out, I bought a charger in Halle, it also burned out, the power bank was so inflated that I had to get rid of it, everyone who is traveling, you know, you need some kind of adapter, otherwise your devices may fail due to unstable electricity.
A wonderful place🩷
100000/10
We had a rest in early April 2024.
It is located in the jungle away from a busy street, 7-10 minutes walk to the beach. Nearby there is an alcohol market and a fruit shop with the cheapest fruits, and if you also bring cigarettes, local people will make discounts and give gifts.
A very good and hospitable hostess Shamali, always helps, asks for wishes, prepares a very tasty variety of breakfasts and sometimes can cook dinner if she has the opportunity. The hostess herself prepares fresh fruits in the morning.
The hostess also offered to order tea from the factory through her at a bargain price.
There is a very rich flora and fauna, monkeys and peacocks sometimes come to the villa. There are always a variety of lizards and local squirrels-chipmunks (for local Lena).
In general, we have never regretted that we chose this place for a vacation, we will definitely return.
I had a rest from December 30, 2023 to January 8, 2024. The villa was selected by a tour operator, I completely relied on her taste and was not mistaken. And...... I got to Eden!!! Comfortable living conditions for vacationers, thought out by the hostess to the smallest detail; excellent, with an elastic mattress, comfortable pillows, a canopy and snow-white bedding, a sleeping place, a shower room with uninterrupted hot water supply; cleanliness, order and AESTHETICS reign in everything: in the exterior and interior of the villa. A magnificent collection of chairs and armchairs, both for adults and children, made of teak wood; my favorite chair was the armchair with a retractable foot rest device at the top!!!.The villa itself is 150 years old, and it's Dutch heritage!!! During the restoration, the owners tried to preserve the architectural style as much as possible! The villa is very comfortable to live in!
And a real well-groomed garden of paradise with exotic plants planted by the hostess, you want to admire endlessly; listen to the singing of birds from early morning until evening, watch the life of cute little chipmunks, experiencing a unique complete relaxation and peace!!!
The owners of the villa are nice kind people with positive energy. According to the ancient philosophy of Buddhism, the owners, as they say, will not even offend flies, and I saw this on a live example: a tiny insect sat on a piece of papaya, and my first desire was to crush it, but Shamali carefully took this piece along with the insect, took it outside to shake it off without causing a "threat"for life! That's such a touching and careful attitude to all living things. The hostess of Shamali speaks English and Italian perfectly. He loves Russian classical literature, gives special preference to L.N.Tolstoy, in particular, her favorite novel "Anna Karenina". He perfectly prepares a variety of breakfasts, while asking what time the tourist wakes up so that the food is freshly prepared. A special feature is the completion of breakfast with freshly squeezed juice from local fruits. You can order freshly packaged tea from Shamali for a gift in Russia, delivered directly from the factory; I went with her to the market in Halle to buy spices and to a jewelry store.
Also, this family has its own tuk -tuker, you can negotiate with it about trips of interest and the price will be cheaper than "catching" on the street.
The distance to the beach is about 300 meters, but it does not bother, but it is a pleasure to walk, admire the surroundings and get to know the life of the locals better. Along the way, a fruit shop with a Russian-speaking seller is excellent in terms of assortment, prices, and without deception.
The beach area is huge with an abundance of restaurants, clean sand and a gentle entrance to the water. The ocean is not comparable to any of the seas!!! You can swim for hours, hypothermia does not occur; and there are no dangerous "reptiles" either.
The rest turned out to be unforgettable and happy!!! I thank the Almighty for sending me to this wonderful island, introducing me to nice people and giving me the opportunity to feel truly happy for at least eight days!
This is the best villa in Unawatuna. The hostess of Shyamali is very friendly and polite. She said that this is one of the most historic houses in Unawatuna. The house is very well maintained and it is clear that they put their soul into it. It was very pleasant and clean to live. If you want comfort, then you are here. Even the local bride and groom came to the villa to take pictures. It's very beautiful there
