It's a very decent place in terms of cuisine and service.
The food is delicious, and so is the wine (we even bought it for ourselves at a good price). Good location (can be visited before or after the cave tour).
Beautiful view from the cafe, especially if you sit at the tables at the railing away from the entrance.
Of the cons, the cafe itself is more of a dining room format in the interior and, of course, the lack of a bathroom spoils the impression.

It is located near the entrance to the caves. Very friendly staff. We took tea, solyanka and dolma. Everything was very tasty, although the hodgepodge was full of islands. It cost 1,600 rubles to eat for two.

Uncle Gena ruined our trip to Abkhazia, because after Uncle Gena's barbecue, all the other kebabs barely reach three!

I don't know what they write in the reviews, maybe people are just not prepared for the fact that this is not a Megacity.
Kharcho, pleasant and moderately spicy.
Pork kebab is above all praise, it is what it should be, juicy, with onion and pepper.
Caesar salad is normal. I would replace Greek with vegetable, since in fact only cheese was added and the price is twice as expensive. The vegetables in the salad are great.
I also tried the stewed giblets, I really liked them, just stewed, as if in an Afghan cauldron.

A great place with a wonderful view of the city. A very tasty pork kebab (it's a pity the sauce did not come with it), the most delicious vegetables on the grill, the portions are large and cooked by the owner himself. Sukhumi beer and homemade wine made by Uncle Gena himself from 4 grape varieties were appreciated. And this is the first cafe where a glass of homemade wine is not a third of a wine glass (120 ml), but a full-fledged faceted glass (almost 250 ml)! I am not an aesthete, I don't care about such trifles, on the contrary, I was pleased with this approach, because the price is the same, and the portion is 2 times more
When choosing a cafe on vacation, I always look for places with homemade wine (factory and I'll buy it in the store), here we were one of the first who tried Uncle Gena's homemade wine for the cafe this year. The owner is a very nice and sincere person, we were able to communicate personally, cordially treats tourists, cooks shish kebabs and dishes on the grill himself and does it masterfully. We will definitely take a look at the next visit. As in all cafes in Abkhazia, a lot of cute cats are waiting for sweets from tourists.

I think the prices for a budget cafe on the road are expensive. The usual noodles are 200 rubles, solyanka 400 rubles. A portion of about 300 grams, we wanted to take the pita bread was over, khinkali too, lula too... They chose French-style meat... The soups were very tasty, and the meat was warmed up for three days... Tough... 400 r serving. I gave it to the local cats... Therefore, 3 stars. We waited a long time too. It was August 22nd. It's very hot, the child felt sick from the heat. The whole company went to drink soft drinks while waiting for the tour session.. What was our surprise when we were kicked out.. they say they need to put people in jail who will buy food. I understand everything, but there were empty tables, there were people who sat on large tables in twos. It was possible to ask them to unite .. I'm honestly shocked..

After visiting the cold Athos cave, I really wanted to have a snack. We decided to go to this institution. And what a surprise it was that in a small cafe we would get both gustatory and spiritual delight! The waitress girl immediately invited us to open our own wine. We entered by accident. While we were waiting in line for an excursion to the cave, Uncle Gene called for a barbecue. After the tour, we decided to take a chance, because the rating of the institution looked promising.
And do you know what happened? I ate the most delicious pork kebab in many years. Great marinade, baked pepper. It's just delicious! The children praised the chicken noodles, and the salads were also excellent. Thank you, Uncle Gena, you're cool.
P.S.: Gagripsh is not your competitor at all, they don't know how to cook shish kebab there)

We accidentally wandered in for a snack after visiting the New Athos Cave. It is very tasty and sincere. Insanely delicious trout, soups and homemade compote. The barbecue from Uncle Gena also pleased me. Very tasty tkemali sauce, not sour, just what you need. There is also a beautiful view of the mountains and the monastery. There are always a lot of people.

The most disgusting place I've ever had lunch in! I don't know who put 5 stars here, when this place is not worth 1 star.. We ordered caesar with chicken, brought it without chicken.. The place is the best in new Athos, we've been almost everywhere (yes, we love to eat), but this place tastes the best! I fell in love with homemade white wine, there is no such thing anywhere else. The guy ate pork kebab, took it twice and both were delighted, the potatoes with dill are delicious.
I am a Vetetrian — I found vegetables with nuts, salads, ate khachapuri, everything that is very tasty, and the prices are very acceptable. The views are unreal! I really really like this place — we advise everyone, we will return to Mount Athos and we will definitely stop by again 💖💖💖

The reviews are screwed up. The only good thing about this place is the view of the monastery and the opportunity to wait for your time before going to the cave. There is no toilet. There is a dirty washbasin by the grill. Only vegetable salad and khachapuri turned out to be edible. The rest is better not to eat, there is a very big doubt about the quality of the products. The trout tasted rotten, the kebab was pickled, the electricity was turned off, how it was stored is not clear. The tables and appliances are dirty, the waitress with a disgruntled face. In general, we concluded that the locals do not like working in the service sector, tourists are annoying, normal service is only provided if Russian guys work. I do not recommend this place

We took pork kebab, caesar and boiled potatoes. The kebab turned out to be not edible, wiry from stale meat, which they tried to save with excessive vinegar marinade.
Potatoes are like potatoes, not crumbly, it looks like they are heated in the microwave.
The children ate the salad and said that the chicken was "not so sweet" - they gave it to the cat.
The price tag is not humane - for 2 servings of questionable shish kebab, warmed potatoes and 2 caesars (plus tea, sauce and pita bread) they gave 2370 rubles!
It is better to go to the khachapurna on the seashore, there are delicious khachapuras! We paid 2 times less, and the buzz is 100 times more!
