A very cool place to stay, both the hotel and the beach for one day, this is my second time here. The ocean is nearby, there is a shade and sun loungers, you can have lunch / dinner, look at turtles, cuddle local dogs. This time I spent 6 nights here and felt at home, under the supervision of each of the staff. I felt safe. Insanely caring and caring people. Very well-coordinated work of the staff, they respond quickly to all requests. Excellent diverse cuisine, there is a wood-burning stove, respectively, cool pizza and pastries. The rooms are simple but clean and have everything you need: always hot water, working air conditioning and WiFi, expensive bed linen and towels, the rooms smell of cinnamon. In general, if you want to go to the village by the ocean for a couple of days, you are here. :)
The hotel is wonderful and special.
The main advantage of the hotel is the high level of service provided by the hotel staff. Cleaning and room service 2 times a day! There's always someone around. Breakfast consists of several dishes: freshly squeezed juice, natural yogurt, fruit plate, omelette or scrambled eggs, pancakes or similar dishes (the names of which I do not know), tea or coffee. The cost of meals at the hotel does not differ from the nearest restaurants, but there is a selection of drinks, including alcoholic ones. We recommend ordering dinner dishes in advance to prepare.
First of all, you need to be prepared for the status of an "ecological holiday": the coast, a huge beach for 5 km, the ocean, the lack of urban infrastructure, silence and contemplation (even there are no televisions).
There is Wi-Fi - 7 points!!! UnionPay cards are available at the hotel.
There are village shops in the village of Kalamella, but there is no currency exchange, they do not sell SIM cards. You can get all this in the nearest city of Tangala, or you can arrange at the hotel and they will go and change the currency for you or buy a SIM card, pay for a tuk-tuk. We agreed at a small vegetable shop and had pineapples, mangoes and papayas brought to us before leaving. A currency changer was invited to a nearby restaurant. There are places to relax and socialize along the beach. Communicate with the locals as best you can, even without knowing the languages.
The people are very friendly, especially the hotel staff.
An amazing place for a quiet measured rest on the ocean. The first hotel in the area. Now more than ten hotels have opened around, however, none of them can offer shade from palm trees throughout the territory. Swimming pool, sun loungers on the grass or the place you specified, helpful staff.
Rarely do any of the guests swim in the ocean, they usually sleep near the pool. For us, two-meter ones are only a joy, and, if 3m, in general, beauty!
We are resting here for the fourth time.
The hotel switched to the HB power system, it used to be BB. It became more profitable: the difference was $20 for two, and dinner cost 25-30. Sea food got boring after about five days. There is pork, chicken. Delicious breakfasts. Pay attention to the spicy coconut cakes of ruti.
One drawback, far from Colombo, if possible, focus on Matala airport near Hambantota. On the other hand, Merissa, Yala and Dondra are close.
Let's go again.
