An interesting and memorable museum - reserve, located about 50 km from Riga. A large number of exhibits. Beautiful landscapes. A very good place to stay. A lot of positive impressions.
A gorgeous castle, a gorgeous place to walk, I really liked everything. parking, however, is paid, but these are small things.
Turaida Castle was founded in 1214 by Bishop Albert, who also founded Riga. At first, the castle was given the name Fredeland, that is, "peaceful land", because the local population - Livs - surrendered without a fight. But the name did not stick, but Turaida, that is, "divine land", stuck. The castle has been the residence of the bishops of Riga for many years. The view from the tower is simply magnificent. I recommend you to visit.
