You can find anything, buy good delicious cheese and meat, I don't talk about vegetables at all, BUT I haven't seen so many gypsies for a very long time, everywhere on every corner, they walk with children, and therefore you check all the contents of your pockets every 5 minutes...
The usual market "greetings from the 90s", or the crowd was also called before, where everything is sold in a mix! Vegetables /fruits are all imported, the price tag is 1.5 times higher than in Russia. It is useless to bargain, they will also laugh, because tourists are the main earnings of the local population.
The lowest prices in Abkhazia are at the Sukhumi market, a large selection of fruits and vegetables, a sea of greens and, of course, cheeses and seasonings.
A colorful place. They trade poorly, it feels like if you bargain, you steal from them. But there are a lot of things. And products, and souvenirs, and clothes, and household goods.
Chaos and dirt. And the price tag is no different from other shops in the city. With parking around full of alles. Go in once, wander, be horrified, leave.
At the same time, it causes positive and negative emotions at the same time. Positive from the point of view that everything is always fresh and tasty with a very reasonable price for fruits and vegetables. But as for how sellers invite themselves to this is a separate kind of art, everyone pulls the blanket over themselves so that they come and buy from him, be prepared that some will almost take you by the hand and "drag" you to their pavilion.
A good market, you can taste the products. Attention to fresh fish, there may be a freeze issued for a fresh catch, ask the locals what and when to catch.
You can find everything in this market))) a good market, everything that was bought was fresh and delicious. but very carefully, keep your bags always close, they can steal something)
I agree with all previous reviews. A real market living its own life. Prices at the end of August 2023 are Moscow prices. Tomatoes 150-200 ₽ per kg, melon 100 ₽ per kg
To plunge into the sea of chaos is not to be forgotten.
What can I say - the market is NOT the SAME anymore! There is NO choice of meat, there is practically no fish. The vegetables don't move and they put them in a bag with the rotten ones together. Prices vary for the same thing and it is absolutely not clear by what criteria, most likely from the degree of greed and arrogance of sellers....
Be careful with fraud!!! All the years we've been collecting goodies home here, this 2022 was just shocking. I just want to save everything and take it next year, give it back!
Churchkhel, marshmallows and the like are pure essence and dyes, apparently they no longer make them themselves, they take them from somewhere wholesale. With previously favorite sauces, the same story. Tkemali was poured into the toilet, a few bottles for himself and friends ...
But a special story with wine! Be careful! Your favorite factory wine is now a surrogate! I always type in several types of boxes. And what a "surprise" I discovered for myself this year, being already at home. It's not even wine at all, guys - sweet water with flavoring, sugar and a glass of alcohol!!!! I certainly did not expect that such a cheap wine would be forged.
In general, Abkhazia has deteriorated greatly, for the first time in several years I do not even want to return.
We got right into the 90s, according to the entourage, according to the policy of building prices. In short, it's not a convenient market, the sellers are not kind, they generally don't care if they buy from them or not, but they will strangle themselves for a penny
Disappointment.... The market in Gagra is much better. Prices are expected to be inflated in the season. One of the advantages is the charisma and sincerity of the sellers
Everything is there, cheaper than in stores, I liked the market

A very colorful place)) here you can buy fresh fish, churchkhela, fruits, vegetables, meat, smoked meats, wine. Especially hungry people have a place to eat - there is a cafe nearby.
Well, in general, the market is such that you want to quickly buy everything and get out.
My most memorable purchase, a delicious homemade chicken.
There is a fishing shop on site.
Flowers are very inexpensive.
The Moscow "Cherkizon" of the 90s, a lot of Gypsies, grab their hands. Prices are high, if you are a tourist, get ready to leave a decent amount, local people often get a discount. In the market in Moscow, fruits / vegetables of equal value, or even cheaper than here, is a fact. Teas, spices in bags from no one knows where, how many are there-it is unknown, however, like everything else. In words, it's fresh, no one will show you the documents. Anyone who wants to touch fresh meat with his hands, coughs into it, wipes himself, some manage to stick their heads among the hanging carcasses and stand chatting with the seller (local). They saw it with their own eyes. Pigeons are sitting on top of the crossbars. The seller spits on his hand and begins to pack vegetables for you. There are many buyers among the buyers for local restaurants. The market is dirty, unsanitary!!!
An ordinary city market. I was not impressed. There are a lot of souvenirs, raw meat is sold without refrigerators, cheese too, they were afraid to take it. A lot of fruits, but all imported. They took the peaches, the locals said, but it is impossible to eat, they are tasteless. Clothes are sold in tents. I haven't seen the staff. According to reviews, I read that alcohol is left-handed, they did not take it as a gift either. I was pleased with the dining room on the thunder floor, we came there several times. Beef patties, chicken with cheese, chops were all very tasty at reasonable prices.
Hellish hell. If you are fans of working with elbows, then you should definitely go there. Although it's cheap, and there is a choice, but the atmosphere itself is very medieval, in a bad way
An ordinary Central Market, like in any provincial town. There are a lot of people in the morning. Parking is problematic. Who lives nearby is better to walk or take public transport.
A classic, real market, a picturesque place in terms of local flavor, but a little dirty, the building has been in need of repair for a long time.
You can buy everything, a lot of natural products. A large selection of fruits, vegetables, chacha, wines, nuts, sweets, spices, cheeses, tea, adjika.
The prices are reasonable (in season there are prices for locals and prices for vacationers), you can bargain, most people are friendly and responsive.
On the 2nd floor there is a good dining room (cheburechnaya).
There are always a lot of people, the best purchases are in the morning, after 15.00 life on the market subsides.
It's like a market. With gypsies, trading junk from copper basins and candlesticks to matches and salt... in general, you definitely need to go. There is a certain buzz in this. But it's not about the budget. There are cheaper shops nearby. This is about the atmosphere... and by the way, the products are high-quality...
The market itself and the assortment in Adler are better. I expected more, since the capital of the country. There is little Turkish and over the price, a lot of Gypsies. And the market itself resembles a spontaneous one
Dirt, crowding, constant pandemonium, local products of poor quality, they constantly want to fool you, it's a disgusting sight, like I came back 30 years ago.
Do not buy local wine with your hands - they do not have vineyards, this is a barmatukha from Moldavian wort
You will find everything here. From fruits to alcohol . Everything is there . The most colorful market in Abkhazia. Wine , chacha, honey, vegetables, fruits.
