Located at the top of the Spanish Steps, the Trinita dei Monti Church traces its history back to 1502, when its construction began by order and at the expense of King Louis XII of France. It is probably for this reason that the French lily is depicted on the obelisk of Sallust, installed in front of the church in 1789. The church is certainly pretty, but when viewed, it is somewhat annoying to see a metal fence with a closed gate separating the central nave from ordinary visitors. What for?
The cathedral stands at the top of the Spanish Steps. There are a lot of visitors. There was a service going on inside. The decoration of the cathedral is not very pretentious. Everything is restrained and beautiful.
