Hello to Travelers! Today I want to start writing a detailed review about my stay at the Tranquila Maldives Hotel. Our long-awaited trip to the Maldives from St. Petersburg took place at the end of June 2024. We have been preparing for it for a very long time, watching various videos and forums for independent travelers (thanks for your feedback), making travel plans and dreaming of unforgettable adventures! Needless to say, photos of snow-white beaches in the style of "bounty" and the incredible turquoise ocean could not leave us indifferent. But for us, the Maldives has always been "very expensive" and remained an unattainable dream. Until one day, we came across the prices of the latest offers from tour operators and realized that our dream was quite feasible! Let's just say that we were vacationing on a local island, where locals live, and we like to explore the entire infrastructure of the place of residence on our own. For some time now, budget tourism has been actively promoted in the Maldives. The hotels offer: transfers to the islands, excursions to resorts, snorkeling and diving, day and night fishing, picnic on a sandbar or on a desert island, play catch-up with dolphins or swim with manta rays, etc. I confess to you in spirit- We fell in love with the Maldives for the rest of our lives! But today we will talk about the hotel Tranquila Maldives on Rasdu Island, where we had to stay for as many as nine days. To be honest, we didn't have a choice as such. Because we came to the Maldives for a vacation during the rainy season and many hotels on the island were closed altogether. Before the trip, we certainly monitored the reviews and roughly imagined the conditions in which we would be accommodated, but even for such not spoiled tourists like us, this hotel spoiled the impression of local hotel hospitality! To begin with, upon arrival on the island, all arriving tourists were greeted by representatives of their hotels. A local kid was also waiting for us with the name of the hotel written on a piece of cardboard box)). Next, he offered us to wait a little and we really hoped that we would be taken to our hotel on a motorbike, because the long flight and transfer exhausted us greatly. But alas and ah, in the end no one came and we were politely offered a walk on foot. And since there was a heavy downpour the day before, I had to splash through huge puddles, the mood slowly got wet....Well, at least they helped carry the luggage, and thanks for that. First of all, I want to voice our wishes for the hotel, which, by the way, have been fulfilled. We wanted the beach to be in close proximity and the room was located on the second floor with a balcony and ocean views. Well, then, for the faint of heart, please drink valerian))) At the entrance to the hotel, we were immediately greeted by a depressing-looking entrance group! The main entrance to the hotel is decorated with an old rotten door hanging on snot. Looking ahead, I will say that in this hotel, everything is based on "honest word". You can't look at the reception without tears at all, that is, I would say it just doesn't exist. It probably once existed, but it was completely filled up with some kind of junk. In the very center of the courtyard, in addition to the chaise lounges, the main decoration of this institution was a huge pile of garbage mixed with branches, carefully covered with a torn film. Description of the room Cons: We went up to our room 203 on the second floor and saw the front door, which does not cause any trust! It was old and shabby with visible signs of forced entry, with a non-working electronic lock, but it was still locked with a key) We go into the room and see that instead of a closet there are dirty shelves, and there are no hangers and hooks on the rod, by the way, they were not in the whole room, even in the bathroom. In the very san.the node is even more interesting: small goosebumps, rusty stains in the bathtub itself, mold in the shower, an inactive automatic bucket, all faucets in lime coating, falling off doors under the sink, and the cherry on the cake is a dirty rag under the siphon) And it seems that this is already enough, but no); water in the toilet (tank)we had it three times during the whole vacation (although there was water in other sources of the bath)!!! When asked to turn on the water, we were told that the whole problem was with the pump and there was nothing we could do about it! We go further to the balcony and it is really spacious and with an ocean view, but the railing!!! Not only are they rotten and broken, but they are not bolted to the building in any way! It's not that you can rely on them, it's even dangerous to approach them! The answer was discouraged - just don't approach them and everything will be fine! There was a 1.5 liter bottle of water in the room, but there were no glasses ( Positive : There is a small refrigerator that still works! The air conditioner functioned throughout the vacation and never failed, this also applies to the kettle. But the fan on the ceiling hung for beauty. We received water at breakfast for 0.5 per brother. The presence of WI-FI, although weak, was encouraging, there is already a connection with loved ones)) In the sockets there are special adapters for Eurovilli and a TV as decoration, which, according to the employees, works only with a "flash drive", well, okay, we didn't come here to watch TV, after all)) The bed is large and not squeaky, it was comfortable to sleep. For that, I strongly advise you not to look under the bed itself, because it has not been cleaned for a long time! In general, during our stay, we were cleaned once, while just sweeping the floor and adding towels (thanks for that!) I didn't want to do this kind of cleaning anymore) We didn't find any bathrobes, slippers or toothbrushes for you, but at least we were glad to have towels, soap and shampoo. During the rain, the rain drums very hard on the roof, and when it rains and winds, sometimes it seemed that the roof was about to fall off, but fortunately, we were lucky with the weather in general and the room was always dry. If you are a lover of the underwater world, then the friendly hotel provides all the necessary equipment for Snorkeling. But if the fins can still be picked up somehow, then the masks are depressing - all old and dirty. On the beach itself and on the territory of the hotel, we were pleased with the large number of free sun beds of a very decent appearance, and in general, the presence of its own beach at the hotel smoothed out all the disadvantages of first impressions))) But we were upset by the lack of a shower and in order to somehow wash off the sand after the beach, we were offered to use one tap in the courtyard, which for some reason almost always lacked water. We chose our tour with breakfast only, because this is not the first time we travel this way, as we really like to taste the local national cuisine ourselves. And we were basically ready for a meager Maldivian breakfast after watching certain content, but the fact that it would be the same all the time was frustrating. We were lucky only in the first few days, when we were offered breakfast on the buffet, which was set exclusively for tourists from Spain, and fortunately for us, at that time, they stayed in this hotel, but immediately after their departure the freebie ended and we again received our endless toasts with omelette and sausages. And it's not even about the assortment, but about the aesthetic attitude! The breakfast time was constantly changing and I had to ask every day, and the waitresses sent to the bartender, the bartender to the receptionist, the receptionist to the cook- veselukha. No specific information!!! By the way, breakfast was never served on time, and dirty dishes. The plate is piled with fruits , toasts , omelets, sausages, and dope (in a package) But it would be all right, I repeat once again, we are not spoiled guys and we can put up with some inconveniences, but the staff put the last point… We read in the reviews that our hotel can serve dinners right on the ocean, which we definitely wanted to take advantage of. I immediately asked the cost of this romance from a hotel employee named Denis (he called himself that) and was very happy, because for my guests the price is only 15 Maldivian rufiyas per person, which is very cheap and we naturally decided to save money this way. As for the entourage itself, it is magnificent! The table was set on the very shore of the sea with a setting and romantic lighting. I would call the food edible rather than tasty. In total, we ordered three such dinners and all the time we were served one second course, one salad for two (which we did not choose), a glass of packaged juice (which we did not choose) and some fruit (apple or watermelon). Most of all, the lack of at least some intelligible menu was annoying, and apparently the cook cooked for us exclusively according to his mood. After the first dinner, I immediately wanted to pay off, before that I was once again convinced of the cost of dinner at 15 rubles! But the bartender assured me that we will receive the bill on the last day of rest, they say it is more convenient for them. And I would not have insisted, but upon leaving the hotel, Maldivian rufias magically turned into dollars!!! As a result, I had to pay $ 90 for three dinners for two, and you know, it's very insulting!!! And the most interesting thing is, do you know what? That we still haven't figured out which of the staff is responsible for what??? Who is the senior? Who's the boss? Who is the employee? It seems that the owner has not visited his guest house for a very long time and his entire business is based on a hop company, extremely unqualified employees. We gave this hotel one last chance until the last day (this is the budget Maldives, we told ourselves), because the Maldives is primarily the sea and nature, but the attitude of the staff towards us shocked us! You are still a 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ hotel ! Yes, it's not enough, but it's also a service! We have something to compare with: Dominicana 3-star hotel and Vietnam 3-star hotel- now we think "luxury" was most upset by the lack of any information, from the word at all! There are no price list plates! That's it! Absolutely everything is in words! And constantly with blurred and inaccurate information! 1. There is no time and cost for breakfast and dinner 2. There are no printed booklets with offers of excursions and entertainment 3. There is no cleaning schedule 4. There is no information about your departure time and transfer We had to contact our "wonderful" guide, Ana, who, not only did not meet us at the airport (we had to wait for her at the counter of the travel agency for 40 minutes) and who did not even ask about our location during our entire vacation. All that remained was to talk to her in WatsAp, hoping that she would at least duplicate our requests about returning to the airport. As a result, I would like to say that very pleasant and polite people live on Rasdu Island! Here you will always get a smile for greeting and any local resident, young and old, will try to help you! The island itself, despite its small size, is cozy and with wonderful nature! And despite the apparent poverty, there are absolutely no unpleasant odors. And the presence of neighboring islands and beautiful reefs makes it unique! We do not know how things are with the service in other hotels, but we advise those people who want to stay at the Tranquila Maldives hotel to think very carefully! Or use our life hacks to survive in this place! 1. Require at least some documentation confirming this or that information 2. Buy drinking water in local shops in large bottles. Believe me, a lot of water is consumed from the heat, and it turns out much cheaper this way. 3. Have breakfast and dinner in cafes, not in a hotel! It will come out more diverse and much cheaper. Personally, we really liked the restaurant "Lemon Drop" and it is not expensive, compared to other establishments and it is delicious 4. Pay for any services immediately after they are completed! So that you wouldn't be shocked by the total amount later. 5. Be sure to bring some Scotch tape with you! This magical accessory will help you not only wrap up your luggage, but even fix the railing on the balcony🤫 6. The sun is very active from 10 a.m. and long sleeves and pants will save you from sunburn!!! Even in the water!!! 7. Swim only in aquashouses, there are sharp stones and corals 8. It is more interesting to live on several islands during your vacation, as each island has its own highlight. Conclusion: In our opinion, the Hotel Tranquila Maldives deserves one star for air conditioning, refrigerator, hairdryer and kettle, and one star for its own beach. Once upon a time, a very nice and modern hotel Tranquila Maldives was built on Rasdu Island. But as time went on, they stopped monitoring the condition of the hotel. The main task was to obtain material benefits from tourists, bypassing the main message of the hotel code -"Coziness and comfort – the embodiment of the ideal of rest!". Will we ever return to this island again? Our answer is a Must! Because here we managed to make friends with very wonderful and helpful people! But we will not return to the hotel Tranquila Maldives! The attitude of the staff ruined everything!!! * "Life is short, but the memories of the Maldives remain forever."

A cozy small hotel, taking into account the peculiarities of the hotels of this island. The staff is friendly and helpful! I recommend it!

A good three-piece. I liked the design in the rooms. They clean it every day. The only hotel on the island with its own beach and a restaurant on the shore.
