Welcome to our channel! The Horseshoe tavern is located in a quiet place, not far from the center of Grodno, on Kirova Street, 9. It was there that we went one spring day, either for a late lunch or an early dinner.
Atmosphere.
The name on the main sign is not indicated, you can only understand that it is a "Horseshoe" by getting closer to the entrance group. The inn positions itself as a hospitable establishment with long-forgotten dishes of Old Slavic cuisine and original liqueurs. Soft music is playing inside. The choice of distinctive cuisine here is rich and varied. The prices are reasonable. The staff is in uniform of a national character. For six years now, gastronomic festivals have been held in the tavern in spring and autumn, offering visitors various interesting sets, for example, an interpretation of the festive feast among the peasants of the Polessky village from the novel by the Belarusian writer Ivan Melezh, or a set based on Peter 1's favorite dinner dishes. It's a pity that we didn't catch this gastrofest, but we will appreciate It's like a reason to come back here!
Interior.
The interior design is typical for an inn. There are a lot of seats, the furniture arrangement is quite wide. The walls are finished with natural dark wood bricks, the halls are furnished with rough, massive furniture. The warm, subdued lighting resembles the natural light of the evening sun. The brutal decoration, linen tablecloths, large bottles of tinctures, an oven and other details of 19th-20th century everyday life are all very consistent with the overall style and concept of the establishment.
Menu.
It is made of wood and resembles a fairy-tale box.
Inside, the description is in two languages, the grammars are in place, there are no pictures. If you believe the stereotypes, then potatoes are present in almost all dishes of Belarus, and despite the versatility of the cuisine of this country, we suggest that you personally verify this stereotype by looking at the menu and reading the article to the end.
We taste culture and traditions.
We place an order and after 10 minutes the "Royal fish from overseas" appears on the table. Tender salmon, cut into identical pieces, gave the broth a golden color and a good broth, and spicy vegetables - richness and flavor. The fish soup was followed by one of the most famous dishes of Belarusian cuisine, the most popular of which is perhaps draniki - this is "Bulbyanaya babka". It has everything not to think about hunger for a long time. Overall, everything was delicious, high in calories, and we barely got up from the table.

It is a very sincere institution and it is not at all surprising that places need to be booked in advance. There is a separate room for a large company and a closing door, when we visited, someone celebrated a holiday in it, I don't know how big it is. The day we booked the table came a little earlier, the girls were very polite and accommodated us without any problems. According to the occupancy of the hall and the number of waiting guests in the lobby of an empty table, it was clear about the popularity of this institution.
Service: quickly, we took orders and gave the dishes to everyone together. There was no such thing that someone would already get there, and someone was sitting and bored. The waiters know the menu, can tell and advise.
As for the dishes. The portions are decent, considering their cost, a very pleasant ratio. Of course, there is a small remark about the zeppelins, they "fell apart", the potatoes floated around the edges and looked more like wet mashed potatoes.
Come, you definitely won't regret it, compared to another institution, from which we were mildly shocked.

We passed by many times and decided to go in, an institution with a good entourage. The entrance group left a pleasant impression, they were greeted warmly. I liked the waiters very much, they did not impose themselves. Their work is top-level, polite, sociable.The menu was brought quickly, which was unexpectedly aesthetic, something I had never seen before.
We ordered tinctures and some dishes, everything was brought quickly, which could not but please. Special thanks to the chefs, tender meat and fish still need to be able to cook. You can see that they are pros. The design of the institution itself is a huge plus, everything is done for relaxation and pleasure. You just want to enjoy the moment, knowing that you are in a place where every piece of food is an art.

A wonderful place!
Borscht is excellent, rich, thick!Feed the fire! With lard, garlic and a pompom!
Draniki is not the best option.
Pork knuckle is the most delicate and delicious!
And the self-made liqueurs are very tasty, I liked them most with cherries and mountain ash!
Everything is served on time, one of the best establishments 100%!

Delicious cuisine, large portions, reasonable prices. But it is very difficult to get to the inn on weekends and holidays, you need to book a table in advance. I didn't like that the waitresses didn't take the plates away after the guests had finished their dish. There was a situation when a new dish was brought, but there was nowhere to put it because the whole table was filled with boards with empty plates. The entrance area and wardrobe are also inconveniently organized, but probably the taste of the dishes exceeds the disadvantages.

Everything is fine except the most important thing-the kitchen.
I'll start with the pros-the entrance group is excellent, the entourage is 4+. The service is 4+. Tinctures 5.
After opening the menu (elegantly decorated), the oddities begin. The peasant salad includes ingredients such as beef tongue, shrimp. Etc. the dishes are strange in composition, they do not correspond in any way to the names hinting at antiquity and traditions.
Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the receipt. The names are roughly from memory:
- solyanka 4- (there was not enough richness and taste)
- merchant's salad 3 (Caesar salad wrapped at home in a pancake with the addition of red beans). A strange combination that has no pronounced taste. In general, it's a mess.
- Beef Stroganoff 3 (unpleasant taste of beef)
- chicken under a walnut 2 (the name is not accurate. But this is the most disastrous dish. The walnut and cheese are burnt, the chicken is dry)
In general, I do not recommend it, we did not get any positive emotions from the dishes.

We were pleasantly surprised! For our entire journey through Belarus, this place is with:
1) the most pleasant prices
2) the most delicious food
3) friendly waiters (you will not find this everywhere in the country!)
4) a cozy atmosphere
For seven people, a business lunch with extra lemonade came out at 105 bel.rubles
There is a table for a large company with the aesthetics of a fireplace room.
Delicious national dishes. The food from the main menu is prepared in front of you, so the wait may be 40 minutes, but the business lunch was served very quickly - and with a national twist :)

A great place for dinner or lunch. There were 2 days in a row. The most responsive and attentive staff that we came across in Grodno. Plus great food and a humane price tag. Good portions, good serving, fast enough even when fully planted. The only drawback is that you need to book for the evening, even on weekdays. But on the other hand, it speaks well for the restaurant, for itself.

A cozy cafe with traditional cuisine hooked us back in 22, we had lunch and dinner only there while arriving in the wonderful city of Grodno, today we decided to return to the proven places, as it turned out, in vain. The decor and style remained unchanged, but the cuisine is disgusting, traditional dishes are undercooked, raw potatoes, meat filling with a strange peculiar smell, bristles stick out of the skins. There are no words, only negative emotions!

We stayed in Grodno and the region for 5 days, ate in various advertised places: cafe Nebo, karchma on Sovetskaya, restaurant Bialystok - everything is simple - food and collecting money, no emotions! And suddenly, around the corner of the house where they lived, on Kirov Street, they accidentally entered the Horseshoe tavern. An unpresentable-looking door led to an inn that captivated us with both the service and the kitchen!!! The portions are simply huge, when ordering, be sure to look at the gramophone, otherwise you can overeat or take it with you!!! Many thanks to the girls, everything is fast and high-quality, and most importantly - they smile, this is a rarity in Belarus!!! And the kitchen - special thanks!!! At lunch, pumpkin puree soup, Stroganoff liver - the price and quality are on top! There are 30 bins for two. We returned to dinner: Pancakes, a warm salad "rustic", beef steak for hot - all with fervor, with heat! Beer on tap is just a miracle!!! Thank you very much!!! We will get back to you!!! I recommend this cozy place to everyone!!!

Expectations from the institution were higher after reading numerous positive reviews.
The soups were quite tasty, but the draniki turned out to be quite sad — thin and not interesting (well, you get the idea). They were also upset by half a meter of fat — for the first time in many cafes they didn't even finish eating and asked to take it with them. Besides, the fat was also frozen, which generally spoiled the impression. I didn't like the pickles either.
It would seem that how can you make tasteless tea? No matter how much the kettle was infused, the taste of the water was brighter than the taste of tea... And the food was served in different cups, which are not even in the style of the institution.
Thank you to the waiter, she tried and provided good service.
We wouldn't go to this place again.

Definitely 5 stars! We went to lunch with a girl when we were walking around the city. We went to a business lunch and were delighted. We ate cold water, beef liver, potato slices, and leafy vegetables. All the dishes are cooked very tasty, the portions are large. The prices are absolutely reasonable, for 40 rubles we ate too much delicious food, we have never eaten better in any institution before!
P.S. I would also like to thank the wonderful staff, two waitresses serving the guests, who are as polite, friendly and hospitable as possible, and also dressed in national Belarusian outfits! In general, thanks to them and respect!

The girls are always friendly, neat, dressed in a uniform with a national flavor. Of course, it is a pity that the appearance of the administrator does not match the style of the institution, as if she came from the beach. After lunch, we wanted to talk to the administrator about the pre-order - she wasn't there, we came up later: she still wasn't there. We came in on a recommendation.
An atmospheric institution, Yes, like a tavern, not to be confused with a restaurant. The portions are large. The price tag is very even.
Positive.
1. Orange - mint lemonade, very tasty.
2. Belarusian borscht, very tasty and a lot.
3. The tea is delicious, black with orange peel.
But still, there are disadvantages for me.
1. Tavern-style salad with poached egg (I ordered it precisely because of the egg), but in fact it was brought with fried egg.
2. I didn't like the pickled pears, they weren't salty at all. There is something to compare.
3. Meat slicing The "Meat dish"
is cut very thickly. Someone likes it.
4. Half a meter of lard, very tasty. But even here, not everything is so good, the onion and garlic are cut very thickly, chapped. Mustard is so weak that it could be eaten like that.
5. The husband ordered a steak Mignon, asked for medium roasting, and brought a vel dan.
6. The tinctures are so-so, I gave a lot of alcohol.
PS. The portions are so large that I asked for my second dish (Princely Braid), which they told me, we'll bring a container, and you fold it yourself. I've never had this before.

The Horseshoe Tavern on Kirov in Grodno is a very cool institution ; we were in Grodno for three days ; we visited the Horseshoe for three days . An adequate price for delicious dishes ; cold brew ; pancakes with different fillers ; dishes on a spit ; I liked berry tinctures of my own production . The original presentation of dishes . It 's a very decent place . It can be crowded and therefore sometimes a reservation is required in advance .

But!! This institution was chosen because of the availability of liqueurs and tinctures of its own production in the assortment, most of them were absent at the time of the visit. Which is already extremely saddening.
The second blow was the warm tinctures of raspberries and cranberries brought. Since I know the taste of raspberry tincture from personal stocks, this one was clearly made from jam - it saddened the soul again.
The interior and the musical accompaniment live in two different worlds.

There are always a lot of people, you need to book in advance or if you're lucky. I was "lucky" to get a table without a reservation for two at the entrance... but... after all, even if you pre-order, you can be seated at the entrance.
The first one (borscht) is excellent. The second is pork in royal style and potato slices - for three. Pork chop is made of rubber. Potatoes from different batches (one is half-cooked, the second is all burnt).
One waitress started serving, another finished. The first one pretended to have something to do with our table. I don't understand why people want to come here so much. A one-time establishment.

We went to this restaurant purposefully to taste pork knuckle.
The steering wheel turned out to be decent. The beer is also fresh.
We tried soups and salads along the way. Everything is very tasty. But the star was lowered for the service. I don't know if it's a specific waiter or such a policy of the institution as a whole, but it was disappointing, of course. This was especially evident when we left, we told the staff goodbye, to which we heard a cold goodbye in response, while the staff did not even look in our direction. Thus showing an absolute lack of interest in us coming back.

Well, everything is difficult, borscht is FIRE, but.. garlic is dried to the fat. Draniki..there are no printed words - it was not possible to try it worse in 2 weeks. The service is below average: they forgot, they did not hear, although they nodded. When asked to turn on the fan (we were sitting upstairs in a stuffy dressing room), the answer is "it won't work anyway.."
In my opinion, after a couple of good reviews, the guys relaxed and "it'll do."..

A very nice small place, we were pleasantly surprised.
First, the location in the center.
Secondly, fast service - no need to wait for someone to come to you, there is no long wait for food or drinks, quick payment. The waiter Daria was attentive and polite, answered all questions about the menu, helped to choose a dish, including for the child.
Thirdly, delicious and satisfying food at reasonable prices.
Fourth, a cozy room.

The Most Honest Review.
A good place, I went for breakfast, for which they have a separate menu, ordered 2 servings of potato zraz, salad, pancake with jam. In general, I had a good breakfast, but there was no WiFi at all, there is no information about it anywhere, and the mobile Internet did not work in principle.

Maybe we were unlucky and there were a lot of orders in the next room, but we waited 40 minutes for our food.... Although the waitress girls are very friendly, answer all questions, try their best, but there are clearly not enough for all the guests, empty plates were piled on the table until we finished dinner. The menu is interesting, the food is delicious, the portions are good, the price tag is adequate, but again there are flaws- the cheese is burnt on top, the crust is not edible on the sides... Delicious and fast, a varied menu.
She was met by a quick and intelligent waitress, who immediately warned about the absence of three dishes on the menu. They served very tender and delicious pork (meat in the gentry style), as well as a properly cooked "lean vegetable dish" steamed. The princely meat braid of pork tenderloin and chicken fillet is not greasy, it may seem a little dry, but soft.
The prices for this quality are reasonable.
The room is small, the kitchen is open until about 22:00.
