One of the most remarkable structures in the Ani Castle. Although the frescoes inside are vague, I can't imagine the beauty of the way it was before the damage was done. The church is a Georgian Church.
Tigran Honents Church is one of the buildings registered as an “immovable cultural asset that needs to be protected” in the Ani Archaeological Site. It is also known as the Illustrated Church or the Embroidered Church. Located on the upper plain of the Arpachay River valley, the building was built in 1215 by the merchant Tigran from the Honents family according to the inscription on the eastern facade and dedicated to Saint Krikor Lusavoric.
The ancient church of Tigranes in one of the Armenian capitals of Ani. It was built in the 10th-11th century. It has been preserved in good condition. The walls inside are painted, but scuffed.
