I'm disappointed. I expected more from a historic hotel in the center of Manhattan. Economy rooms are in poor condition, air conditioning (aka heater- located under the window in place of the battery) it did not work, it was cold, the window frame was distorted - the window did not close until the end, bruises, scuffs, bends... They cleaned it, yes, but repairs are very necessary. And of course, an unimaginable amount of show-offs. The Roosevelt Hotel is the same...
I will give a big rating as soon as I spend that unforgettable hour myself, which is in the movie "1408". It is logical that it is better to "check out" yourself with your presence. I'm sure I won't be disappointed-I'm not whimsical, I've seen everything.
.. And I hope I won't see any ghosts.
The location is very convenient, all the sights are within walking distance, the Old room stock, breakfasts for an additional fee, expensive and very poor in assortment.
A classic old hotel, very atmospheric. They say that the famous Stephen King film 1408 was shot here, but the room does not look like the one in the film. The staff says that the movie was shot in California. There was no refrigerator in the room, the water was paid.
