I liked Tashkent airport very much. Compact, clean, everything is intuitive, the staff is friendly, super! Immediately after passport control, there is a currency exchange with a fair exchange rate. You can change various currencies to local currency, there is also an information tourist desk where you can easily purchase a local SIM card for Uzbek soums. The operators are different, the tariffs are at reasonable prices. The territory on the street is well-groomed, a beautiful green area (even in November).
No one is organizing a crowd at the exit of passengers. There are two organics standing and joking with bomb taxi drivers, who have closed the entire passage in several rows, well, there is just a crowd of people who have nothing to do with arrivals and does not allow those leaving to pass, creating a dense barrier. It's great for pickpockets to work in such a crowd.
Behind the taxi drivers, the arrivals are not visible to the greeters. If you're tall enough, you can at least look over the heads of taxi drivers. And if you are of normal height, then you stand apart so as not to miss a relative when he makes his way through the crowd of "businessmen".
This is how the arrival area works. Everything is the same as before
A convenient passport control area, immediately after it a luggage compartment. There is a mini dutik with perfumes and alcohol. Immediately upon baggage collection, you can connect a SIM card, there is an exchanger.
A big disadvantage is baggage collection, which is long, slow and terribly stressful.
The arrival area is not bad, but it could be better. The problem is simple, the waiting room is very small, the toilet is very far away and it is difficult to find no direction signs. The toilet is expensive 5000 soums, although it is cheaper and cleaner and more pleasant in parks.
A slightly tired airport arrival area. There are very few locations and recreation areas, especially in comparison with other airports
In general, it's fine
I couldn't connect to a Wi-Fi with a Belarusian number. But the staff is very friendly. We helped to buy and activate the SIM. Flying from India to Belarus, I began to feel at home already in Tashkent)
At the moment, they are building a closed-type arrival place. It 's about time ! Those who met in the cold, heat and snow stood under the open sky.
Open a couple of fast food catering outlets (sandwiches, samsa, etc.), but not these homemade ones, made at home and at an inflated price.
You also need to open a couple of flower sales outlets. So that you can immediately buy there on the spot and give it away .
The airport has improved in recent years, but there are some non-parking facilities.Let's hope that the airport administration will solve this problem in the near future
