A very beautiful hotel on the ocean. Cozy and clean room: daily room cleaning. Bottled water (1.5 liters) is brought to the room daily for each guest. The room has air conditioning, mini fridge, iron and ironing board, good hair dryer, TV. Daily change/addition of hygiene kits: shampoos, conditioners, shower gels, body cream, toothbrushes/pastes, hats. Daily towel change. The bed linen was changed twice in a week. Very cool slippers for the room.
To charge the gadgets, you will need an adapter to the sockets (there is only one in the room).
The balconies of the hotel overlook the shore: the view of the ocean and the sound of the surf are indescribable.
The food is delicious and varied: Indian and European cuisine, grilled fish and meat, lots and lots of fruits. There is an additional fish restaurant and a Chinese restaurant on site. A receipt for dinner for three in a fish restaurant (appetizers, soup, main course, dessert), including alcohol - 11,000 rubles: lobsters and crabs were ordered. They brought half a glass of stomach medicine: they were not needed.
The territory is beautiful, there is a lot of greenery and wildlife: birds, iguanas, geckos, palm squirrels.
Unfortunately, you can't swim in the ocean because of the high waves - just wander along the surf line up to your knees. On the ocean shore, it is very pleasant to welcome the sun in the morning (yoga) - such energy.
The hotel organizes various activities: yoga in the morning, palm leaf weaving, aqua makeup for children, aerobics and much more. The schedule and time of classes are posted at the reception. There is a spa and several souvenir shops.
The hotel has a large swimming pool (1.2m) and shallow (above the ankle) for toddlers. Sun beds under umbrellas. Mattresses are brought and spread out on the sun beds by an employee on duty next to the pool. He also gives out clean towels and takes the used ones. A child's swimsuit in the pool should be with sleeves: the sun is very active.
The staff are friendly and helpful: they brought us aloe leaves to the room when we all burned in the sun on the first day. Sun protection 30 does not work from the word at all: from 60 and above, do not repeat our mistake. If burned, aloe helps: you can buy aloe pulp at any Ayurvedic shop nearby or the compassionate staff of the hotel will bring you aloe, how lucky we are.
Take the Bepanten ointment with you, the largest tube, preferably two.

In October 2024, we bought a ticket to this beautiful hotel. It should be noted that the temperature of the air and water +27. Warmth, sun, ocean. Excellent service. Private pool with free sun beds and towels. Panoramic windows overlooking the ocean. Daily cleaning service. Landscaping and the view outside the window, like on postcards. Buffet breakfast. With fruits and ice cream. The beach is 50 m from the hotel and the endless coastline. Amazing sunsets, with clouds of incredible colors.
The staff mostly speaks English, Russian, only some words. Attentive to all requests and wishes. Be prepared for pleasant surprises.
I recommend this hotel as a great kind of beach holiday

The room was a little tired, but everything else, including the service, was a solid five. The location is great for those who do not like beaches and streets densely populated by Russian tourists, as in the Krasnodar territory)) For tips, beautiful animals made of towels were left in our room :) There are a lot of squirrels on the territory, iguanas walk. There are restaurants near the hotel with reasonable prices and delicious food.
We will definitely come back again!

The hotel itself is very beautiful and well located. One of the disadvantages is the tasteless and expensive food in the hotel itself, it is convenient that without leaving the hotel you can cross the railway tracks and find yourself in the Nova restaurant, where there is always fresh fish and seafood (open from 14:00).
There is no private beach, sun beds are only by the pool or in front of the fence (net) on the territory of the hotel.

We were from 29.01 to 07.02, powered by BB. The hotel is amazing, the staff is super attentive and friendly. The breakfasts are excellent, there are both European dishes and national cuisine. Fresh fruits: watermelon, orange, papaya. Milkshakes: chocolate and strawberry. It is impossible to stay hungry. The territory is large and well maintained. The rooms have a kettle, tea and coffee sets, iron, ironing board, hair dryer. Hot meals and drinks can be ordered both in the room and at the pool. A saxophonist plays every evening and there was a musical group, apparently they just came to our hotel for the evening. There are many cafes around the hotel, we went to them for dinner

Without any exaggeration, this is a sooo good hotel! Spacious rooms after renovation. Clean, beautiful, well-groomed territory of the hotel. A clean beach. The staff is incredibly helpful. Honest and conscientious.

Delicious food. I will especially mention the seafood restaurant. Delicious, good service and prices at an average level.
Of the disadvantages, I will note the proximity to the railway, but there are numbers hidden from it.
Very poor gym equipment, some of which does not work. And also sometimes it's hot in the gym.
The absence of a clothes dryer in the room and the absence of hooks and drying places in the bathroom.
Well, instant coffee with instant cream is also somehow not very good.
I also note that there is no music anywhere, but maybe this is a plus for someone :)
For me, aqua aerobics in complete silence seemed strange 😆

Great hotel. The staff is very attentive, not annoying, everything is clean, the room is cleaned 2 times a day, every day a new pet is rolled out of a towel. The food is good. There are many palm squirrels similar to chipmunks on the territory, geese live, and monitor lizards are small. Beautiful beach.

We are now on the island of Sri Lanka and stayed in this hotel, we paid for a suite with an ocean view, provided a room with a garden view and on the 1st floor!!! There are so many people in the kitchen and there are no places to sit, a family of 5 people (Indians) lived next to our room they even hung their underpants everywhere, that's the impression, and there are a lot of animals and that's all the advantages, by the way, we called a taxi, he couldn't get there, I asked for help and the hotel staff didn't help me at all!!

I really liked the hotel! All covered in greenery, many different animals running around it. The children were delighted. The staff is very polite and kind. They responded to all our requests quickly and with a smile! Room cleaning is on top. They only took breakfast. Everything is fresh and delicious. A standard buffet. There are two beaches nearby. You will be careful with the check-in! There are rooms without repair (they are very tired. We took the superion... a new one! And we were immediately settled in the standard (old) . Then, of course, everything was changed and they gave a gorgeous room with an ocean view....( for which , by the way , we paid the tour operator decently) , but our nerves were frayed on the first day . Although our friends took a standard room for children (the simplest), and they were immediately put in a great new room. Apparently, here as luck would have it…I definitely recommend the hotel.

We stayed at the Taj Bentota Hotel and were very satisfied! Excellent location right on the ocean, beautiful manicured beach, clean and spacious rooms. The staff is polite and always ready to help. The breakfasts are delicious and varied, especially the fresh fruits and local dishes.
The only drawback is that there are practically no restaurants and cafes within walking distance, so I had to have dinner either at the hotel or travel to other areas. If it is important for you to have a large selection of places to eat nearby, it is better to consider this point.
Overall, Taj Bentota is a great choice for those who are looking for comfort, coziness and beautiful nature!

We were here during the "rainy season" from November 11 to 19. It rained twice late in the evening and at night. I liked the hotel very clean, located picturesquely right on the ocean. There is a beach just outside the territory. But it doesn't belong to the hotel. For the ridiculous money of 1000 rupees (330 rubles approximately), they took two beds with mattresses and an umbrella for the whole day. We left for lunch in the city - we returned -the trestles were not given to anyone and stand in the place we chose. The locals look after the order - you can safely go swimming, no one will take things. The beach is clean. The sand is very fine and lies tightly both on the shore and under water - it is convenient to walk, the water is clean, sometimes small fish swim. The water is 28 degrees.Nature is alive, not scared away yet. Iguanas sometimes walked along the beach closer to the trees and on the lawn in front of the building, digging in the sand, looking for crabs. Birds were constantly walking around the lawn - I don't know what they are called, but they look like little cranes. There are a lot of chipmunks jumping through the trees. In the evening, when it was getting dark, large bats flew over the beach. A lizard came to our balcony. All this clicks, whistles, chirps and together with the noise of the waves creates such a relaxing background and a feeling of immersion in nature. The beach had red or yellow flags - swim with caution. We were told that in a couple of weeks the ocean will calm down completely and it will be possible to swim far away, but for now they do not recommend it. There were waves, but not big ones. We swung on them with pleasure. Locals on the beach teach tourists to surf, even children succeed. On the beach, they will sell you a coconut not too expensive, having designed it as a funny mouse with a tube for drinking juice. Right there on the beach we ordered a Tuk-tuk- motorcycle taxi., to go on which to eat in Bentota , and after lunch back is also ridiculous money - 200 rupees. Moreover, for the same money, they will wait for you while you eat, take you for fruit and to the store. The food is delicious, lots of seafood, beautiful serving. Only breakfast was included in our hotel, because we like to go on excursions and often have to have lunch and dinner outside the hotel. We visited several restaurants in Bentota. The first 5 days I was delighted with the local cuisine, on the sixth I wanted oatmeal and borscht😉there are a lot of fruits, but they are not particularly cheap, They were cheaper in Thailand. but maybe we just didn't bargain, and the population uses the opportunity to earn.. the hotel menu is not very diverse, there are a lot of local curry, but those who wish will find porridges, cereals, various yogurts, delicious coffee for breakfast. And of course - TEA! But the selection of fruits in the hotel restaurant is very poor. You can have dinner in the hotel restaurant, and the menu will be tastier and cheaper than if you pay for "1 all-inclusive dinner" The pool, like the restaurant on the fourth tier level, is beautiful, towels are also provided there. We had a room on the ground floor with a balcony, a short corridor leading across the lawn to the beach. The room is spacious, clean. Underwear was searched - changed every day. And the linen is very high quality. AND, OH, THE GREAT GOOD! The air conditioner is centralized and DOES NOT TURN OFF when you take the card out of the slot. Therefore, when you come from a 30-degree heat, you get into a blessed coolness in the room, for the first few seconds it even seems that it's a little cold. Excursions are quite interesting and for every taste. But there is nothing for children except the pool, and there were very few of them. But we feel safer this way. In general, we liked it. I want to come again. But hardly. We've been to a lot of places, but there are even more countries where we haven't been yet.

The hotel left the best impressions! A good location on the beach, a natural breakwater allows you to swim safely, the locals do not bother-the hotel is guarded around the clock

A great hotel for Sri Lanka.
Everything is convenient and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The beach is convenient for swimming with children. There is a surfing station on the beach - they teach for 3,000 rupees per hour.
Meals were taken only for breakfast. We had lunch on the menu at the hotel - very good cuisine and a friendly chef.
It was said that there were a lot of people, but they were practically not visible on the territory of the hotel. There were always free sun beds by the pool. A clean swimming pool. There are sun beds on the beach for a symbolic fee.
The rooms require minor repairs, but this does not affect the rest in any way. The cleaning is done conscientiously.
The hotel grounds are very beautiful and green.
The hotel is poisoning the Maskits. The guards keep order.
Overall, a good impression of the visit.

I really liked the hotel . Large territory, well maintained. Delicious food. Friendly staff. The hotel is located on the first coast , with a wonderful beach area (but the beach is state-owned, things were not recommended to leave on the beach , but we swam in the pool, and there we left things on the sun beds and there was a descent to the beach and we walked calmly)
The pool is also very warm water . And, the spa area is also beautiful. And massage is not bad to do .

I just can't find the words to describe my love for this hotel and this paradise in general. I flew to Sri Lanka for the first time last year by accident, the hotel and location were advised by a friend living in India. I was on the verge of burnout and nervous exhaustion, and in the end I just went to heaven. This is such a quiet 5-star sanatorium without any animation, parties and loud visitors. I hardly touched my shoes, ran barefoot with a flower behind my ear to the ocean, had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, it was incredibly hot during the day, so usually there was a massage in the salon right next to the hotel (in the hotel itself, massage is about nothing and at the same time it is 2 times more expensive) In general, I was so impressed with my vacation that year that I flew there for 2 weeks this year. There were thoughts that fairy tales would not happen twice, and so on. I was burned out and wildly tired again. I arrived last night and what I want to say is that this vacation has become 10 times cooler🙌🏻
First of all, I am remembered by ALL the staff, waiters and managers of the hotel. I was surrounded by care, as if it were my family. People here are imbued with kindness and love, and the service at the hotel has even grown. They went to a meeting for any questions, changed the room to a higher category, arranged an incredible breakfast in the room at 6 a.m. because of my early departure, the waiters brought fresh flowers to my table every morning. And it's not for tips or with a forced smile. It's just indescribable, especially after living in our country😅
I love this hotel for its location on one of the most secluded and beautiful beaches in Sri Lanka - Bentote. Every morning I walked along this beach to the left and walked along the ocean to the Saman Villas hotel, it's incredible there and you can have breakfast for a fee (around 2500) and it will be the best giant breakfast of your life. It's a deserted beach and you'll be alone there. And if you go to the right of the hotel, then on the contrary you get into a boiling life. There is also a surf school and a "dog beach", where you can relax in the shade of palm trees with local residents-surfing teachers. The beach does not belong to the hotel, sun beds are paid there (around 150 rubles all day), but if you take a surf lesson, you already hang out there for free))) I was also remembered by name by all these guys, they also helped with everything and constantly protected me from annoying tourists. I felt like this was my home. An incredible place, I'll be back 100%

Nice hotel. Not a premium five, but we drove without illusions. Lovely polite staff. Large comfortable deluxe room with its own terrace with access to the pool. The food is delicious - we took breakfast and dinner. For lunch we went 300 m to the Vintage cafe. The ocean with small waves, but the hotel is not in the bay- expected. It's a pleasure to jump in the waves.

A wonderful hotel on the first coastline. A huge gorgeous beach. Convenient access to the sea. Sun beds are free only on the territory of the hotel, by the sea they are paid, because the beach is municipal. The food is excellent: the choice, of course, is not like in Turkey and Egypt, but it is quite enough and delicious. Fruits: papaya, watermelon, passion fruit, pineapple. A large number of delicious desserts, ice cream for dinner. Our lunch was not included in the price, it was possible to order from the menu. Unfortunately, the rooms need to be renovated. This is the only drawback of the hotel. Because of this, I gave 4 points. The room has a TV with 1 Russian channel, a safe, a small refrigerator, an iron with ironing board. There is not enough dryer for clothes. The bed is comfortable. Cleaning 2 times a day. There were no ants or mosquitoes in the room. There was a fumigator, but it was not used. The hotel has a SPA, a small gym, a bar and several small shops. Wonderful friendly staff. There is a railway near the hotel, but trains rarely run, so it does not bother. There are restaurants near the hotel, you can dine there: it is very tasty and cheaper than in the hotel. By tuk-tuk you can get to the city (in terms of our rubles 60 rubles round trip), where there are shops. Excursions are offered on the beach, I do not recommend buying from them - they cheat: they voice one thing, but in fact they get another.

We have just returned from a vacation in this wonderful hotel. Huge green area, real jungle and mangrove forest on the way to the spa. The room on the 4th floor has an ocean view, although the voucher indicated a garden view. At the reception I asked if there were rooms with an ocean view, we were kindly provided with it. The staff is very responsive and friendly, on the day we left, the man who cleaned our room came to say goodbye and wished us a safe journey, touched by this attitude. Communication is in English, but this is not a problem, if there is a misunderstanding, then they use a translator on the phone, this is how we communicated with the manager at check-in. There is a Russian-speaking manager at the hotel, but she did not work on the day of our meeting. The staff understands and responds in Russian with "good afternoon/morning/evening", etc., we appreciated it very pleasantly. The room has everything you need: kettle, refrigerator, TV, safe. Cleaning is done daily, towels are changed 2-3 times a day, we only noticed clean dry towels appearing instead of used ones) Drinking water is also replenished several times during the day. You can find fault with the condition of the room and furniture, there are always disadvantages, but they just disappear, you just have to look out the panoramic windows at the ocean) They took only breakfast, because there are many restaurants around, I wanted to go everywhere and try seafood from different chefs. It's delicious everywhere! You can get to any point by tuk-tuk, prices are low, you can bargain. This is not the first time we have rested in Sri Lanka, and with each trip the conviction grows stronger that this is a heavenly place!

We had a buffet breakfast, the food was delicious, the food was for every taste and local as well.
The room is not new, the renovation is old enough, the refrigerator barely worked, but it was clean and cozy enough. We cleaned 2 times a day, thoroughly in the morning, light cleaning in the evening, changing towels. 2-3 liter bottles were left every day, coffee, tea for free.
The staff is polite, smiling, not arrogant.
The territory is clean and well maintained. They are treated against insects.
There is a swimming pool, beautiful, spacious, cleaned every morning, but when the locals arrived for the new year (holidays) it was impossible to get into it, there were too many people.
The beach does not belong to the hotel, but it was also monitored, cleaned, clean sand, not big waves.
The location is quite convenient, there is a good and not expensive restaurant nearby, a tuk is always at hand, you can go to the market not far away.

The hotel is good, but requires renovation. The rooms are ruined. The staff tries their best, they will help solve any problem. Breakfast is the same every day. Even the places of the dishes do not change. But it is quite diverse, you will not stay hungry. There are enough sun beds for everyone. There are not many vacationers, as in the whole of Sri Lanka. There is an influx of tourists from India only on weekends. There are many restaurants near the hotel where you can eat tasty and inexpensive food. The hotel is decent, considering that there is nothing decent nearby. Direct ocean view, access to the beach from the hotel. We have seen that our compatriots are being settled in the most illiquid rooms. We immediately booked a room on the top floor with a direct view of the ocean. There is very little choice in the restaurant, we thought that we would eat seafood, but it was not there, we only gave squid rings and some grilled shrimp once in 10 days.

The hotel is being actively renovated, in a couple of months there will be a candy bar. I recommend it, next to the ocean, the territory is large, there is a SPA, they feed normally, but without frills. The pool is clean, there are several bars. The staff is as friendly as possible.

A good hotel in a good location. A wonderful beach, without big waves. It is important to take a room that has been renovated. Some rooms have a strong damp smell. The breakfasts are monotonous, but quite decent, with good coffee.
Theft is rampant among the staff. Two slices of Russian smoked sausage have disappeared from my refrigerator. I reported this to the management, but it's not a problem for them. Apparently, this is the order of things for them. They didn't even apologize. Why are mini bars not made according to the principle of a safe? Everything must be hidden - money, cigarettes, food.
If you decide to go, you will not lose.🤣🙂🤪

The hotel is decent, be sure to take deluxe rooms, the standards for very good sound insulation and trains run nearby (these are a plus since you can travel yourself), the beach / one of the best in Bentota- there is a beach with high waves, there is for children. Excellent staff, so friendly that I didn't really want to leave. I would not recommend a spa, they stroke more than massage. We rested for two weeks - we didn't want to leave - thanks to the hotel

We were at this hotel from 14.10 to 24.10, the hotel corresponds to the status of 5 stars, the rooms were cleaned 2 times a day, everything is very neat and clean, the hotel itself is very beautiful, there are several restaurants and a bar with billiards, the territory is very beautiful and large,there is its own access to the beach, the food is varied and deliciousalthough you need to get used to the fact that many positions are very sharp) we had a wonderful view of the ocean from the window!

The hotel left a mixed impression, it is not a 5*. We were with my husband for a week on November 18-26. Really impressive in the photo, very beautiful, oceanfront, multi-level. In fact, it is a ruined hotel with cunning managers.
Upon check-in, we were met, escorted to the reception, put in chairs, treated to juice. Also, the girl manager informed us that we had been upgraded to a room class. It was nice, we thanked him and were escorted to our room on the 2nd floor. And a room with separate beds, for spouses that. We didn't understand why, we didn't ask for separate ones, we asked the boy to report it. After talking on the phone, he took us to another room on the 1st floor. Although almost the entire floor was vacant! The room was a class below, all covered with dust and killed, even for 3* it's tin, I attached a photo. After examining the room, after a while, we again contacted the reception with complaints about the condition of the room and asked them to come up with something. The managers decided something there, we were moved back to the 2nd floor, but to a normal room with a large bed, hooray!
And the most "wonderful" thing is that one building was under renovation, so drilling, slotting and other construction noises were constantly heard, which did not color the first half of the rest very much. Part of the territory behind the hotel was in construction houses and garbage. The season starts in November, was it really impossible to keep up to this?
On nutrition: we had breakfasts, quite varied, and the local cuisine was, a lot of spicy (the hotel is Indian). For early excursions, instead of breakfast, there is a lunchbox with a tasteless sandwich with cheese juice, a cupcake and a small banana. When you could at least make it with ham or chicken, taking into account the cost of breakfast.
But the most "delicious" impression was left for last. At the beginning of the holiday, we received a letter at the door that we had the opportunity to go to dinner before our departure. We were glad that the hotel compensated for the early departure so much and that we would not get to breakfast. But it wasn't that simple. That evening we come to the restaurant, they wave at us that there is no such thing, go to the reception. We took the letter in the room, came to the reception, they looked at something for a long time, then nodded "it's ok". So can we still have dinner? Yes. We returned to the restaurant, we were already escorted out. After dinner, the waiter asked me to sign the bill. "We don't pay for dinner." "Yes, yes, it's just a formality, you don't have to pay." "Are you sure?" "Yes, yes."
In the morning, during check-out, they refuse to evict us until we pay the bill of 16,000 rupees for dinner! We tried to prove that here is a letter saying that we can have dinner without any fees. The same manager who dealt with this yesterday and said ok now throws up his hands and says "you only have breakfast, we don't know anything, pay for it." I'm showing you the letter (fortunately I saved it), no, you only have breakfast, this can't be. It's good that we had the last $50 left, which closed this account. There was a bus with other people waiting for us and we couldn't stay late so as not to miss the flight. We quarreled with the managers, but it was useless. They also didn't want to accept money, some kind of speck! Until my husband yelled at them with a Russian obscenity!
That's the last trace this hotel left. We contacted our guide from the travel agency, proceedings are underway, it reached the head of the network. We think that this is the tricks of the manager of this particular hotel to deceive people! So that before departure they have a bill for a lot of money that they do not have to pay, but there is an account in the accounting department and then there may be problems with departure. And people have no choice but to close this account!
