Hello everyone!
1. In July 2024, we rested in Gonio (a village near Batumi) and in the second half of the vacation we wanted to visit something interesting, not far from Batumi.
As usual, I Google all the interesting places on Google maps (I mostly use Yandex maps by place of residence if I need to find something) and then quite by chance I found an interesting place for myself in neighboring Guria (Ozurgeti city) - the neighboring province of Adjara.
The place is the Taba tea plantation, or to be more precise, an excursion to this plantation.
In short, I absolutely recommend both the excursion itself with the owner of the plantation, and the city of Ozurgeti itself. To be honest, we didn't even want to leave Ozurgeti for Batumi. Next time, only to non-tourist places in Georgia.
2. On the tour, we learned a lot about the cultivation and production of tea.
For example, it turns out that green or black tea is made from the same variety.
That tea in Turkey was brought from Georgia, i.e. initially tea was produced in Georgia, and then the Turks brought it and began to produce it in Turkey.
3. Very beautiful place: views, plantation. house.
4. Separately, a tea tasting with the host Alexander is very interesting.
For me, probably the most interesting thing was communicating with the owner. It is very rare to meet and communicate with thinking people.
5. Ideally, if you come there by your own or rented car, but also by minibus from Batumi (as we did), it is also a working option.
And finally, stop by the Pirosmani restaurant after the tour (it is located next to the railway station).
In general,
I boldly recommend this place
