A very good hotel. A quiet and cozy place. Yes, the rooms are old, but everything is there for relaxation, everything works. A great, clean and spacious beach. And here is the most beautiful sunset, no matter where you take a picture. Of the exotic birds, only crows can steal any food even from under their noses, so it's better not to leave anything unattended for more than a minute. The hotel's security guards save you from annoying Masai and other traders. They are simply not allowed beyond the tide line.
There are very few people on the beach in June. But if tourists from other hotels come to swim in the sea for a day without low tide, then there may not be enough sun beds. The sunbeds themselves on the beach are not very comfortable. The backs are low and not adjustable. The sun beds by the pool are much more comfortable and the mattresses there are thicker.
The tides at the hotel are minimal, so you can swim in the ocean from morning to night. The water is very warm even in winter in June.
There are a lot of stars on the bottom at low tide. And among them are hedgehogs. So it's better to look at the bottom before stepping somewhere, since the water is clear. Well, or use corals.
The hotel has one of the best restaurants in Kendwa (and we went around all the neighboring hotels and probably a dozen in the village). The food is delicious, but sometimes you have to wait. Not every time, as people write in old reviews. Apparently, the locals are listening after all))
Breakfast in the morning is somewhat monotonous: omelette or fried eggs, sausages, beans, potatoes, some vegetables, pastries, tea, coffee. But it can be changed somehow from day to day. You definitely won't stay hungry. For dessert, they give a plate of fruits and always two types of freshly squeezed juices.
The service in the restaurant is acceptable. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Room cleaning on request. However, for some reason the maids ask to leave them the keys, since they do not have them. And then you have to go to the reception to get the key, which is not very convenient when you live in a bungalow.
Another disadvantage is that they almost never give change at the reception, in the bar and restaurant. You can wait a couple of hours for the change, but you can't wait))) Sometimes the waiters promise to return the change tomorrow, but no one will remember it the next day. It's the same at the reception. Upon arrival, they take the tax and promise to return the change tomorrow, but... Tomorrow no one there knew anything about it)))
So it is better to immediately change large bills either at the airport or upon arrival at local stores. Change is useful everywhere.
It's not very fun to have breakfast in the morning with a swarm of bees that attack all sweets and fruits. No one treats the hotel's territory from insects. There are a lot of them here. As well as mosquitoes in the evenings. So you need to take repellents with you. And from the bees, you can put a plate with maple syrup on the next table and they will all fly there.
Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay in our bungalow.
We liked it. Yes, it's not the coolest hotel, but the place is great and the service is on the level.
Like it:
- the breakfast was somewhat monotonous, but the choice of dishes was large, so the monotony was unnoticeable;
- the room size is large, spacious;
- cleanliness in the room;
- clean hotel area;
- service and cleanliness on the beach;
- quality and variety of dishes in the restaurant for dinner;
- a huge balcony.
I didn't like it:
- there are very few hooks, hangers for clothes and towels in the bathroom;
- microscopic shelf for shampoo, shower gel. Two small tubes could barely fit on it;
- there is no shower hose in the bathroom;
-the confusing system of ordering a paid dinner constantly required consultation with the restaurant manager about what was paid for and whether it was possible to order a particular dish in the cost of payment;
- with the noticeable poverty of the country, the price in the restaurant was relatively high;
- I would like two chairs / armchairs in the room, not one, as it was;
Overall a good three-star hotel.
In principle, it is very good. Here's a very poor breakfast, if you compare it with the neighboring Rocks, it's generally modest. I was surprised that the fruits are not on the buffet, but are brought in portions to everyone on a plate. And if, for example, I don't eat pineapple or bananas, I'd rather take a few slices of watermelon, in general it's strange. In the last two days, the air conditioners did not work in our building, we almost died from the stuffiness. Wi-Fi, only at the restaurant and a little on the beach, there are no rooms, I had to buy a SIM card. The standard room does not have a kettle with a tea/coffee set, which is also strange. The territory is beautiful, yes. Personally, the neighboring Rocks came to me more.
