I just returned from a vacation at this hotel and have something to share. In short, one of the best hotels in Protaras, a vacation in which I can safely recommend (I also talked with local guys who work in tourism, they also confirmed this). And now for more details…
The location is the very center of the city, very convenient descent to the beach (suitable for the elderly and the disabled). Protaras is one tourist street and a long coastline. Everything you need is there, but if you need a move, then it's better to choose Ayia Napa, here you can find something to occupy yourself, but there are more options.
Although the beach is public, it is well maintained, even during peak hours there is no sense of bacchanalia, everyone finds a place for themselves on land and in the sea. I recommend the guys from the water sports centre, I was satisfied with the parasailing and the gyro scooter.
Sun beds are reserved for you for the entire rest period (they are not on the beach, but very close), so you do not need to get up at 6 am and take a seat for yourself – it is convenient.
The hotel itself is a cross between a state–of-the-art hotel and a 20-year-old hotel. Don't expect any luxury, the design approach is also preserved, there are interesting solutions, but here the concept is a little different. The territory of the hotel is not very large, but well maintained and convenient in logistics. Compared to other hotels nearby, Sunrise Peal has as many as 5 pools, which is very cool, because there is no feeling of a bazaar station, there is a separate pool for children. But there is also something to work on here – some stairs of the pools are wobbling, it would be good to refresh the sun beds and tables with them, sand is not always removed from decorative pools. A cool system that allows you to order drinks or food directly to the sunbed through a QR code.
A bonus visit to the spa is provided for guests - be sure to use it, it's worth it!
A very strong aspect of the hotel is the staff. All are trained, many of them have a direct feeling of love for business and hospitality. I would especially like to mention Vera, a Russian-speaking accommodation specialist, who was constantly in touch, helped solve all issues, in general, the rest was a great success thanks in many ways to her, thank you very much! Waiters and porters also work very well, almost all employees greet and are interested in how things are, it's nice =) the only thing is that the waiters have a very warm uniform for +35, it's clear that 5*, but guests will not mind short-sleeved shirts))
We took the garden deck suite room, a lot of it is made of high–quality materials, all consumables are replenished on request) However, there are small nuances - the sink is made inconveniently, the handle of the door to the garden can give you a wound if used incorrectly. There is also an outdated charging unit, there is no type-c connector. The mini-garden near the room is a personal palm tree and everything in general, however, the disadvantage is that there is noise from working ventilation, but you do not need it in general, because it is much more pleasant in a room with a balcony. Cleaning was done every day, generally well, sometimes they forgot that 3 people live, not 2, but not critically. In the evening, they were treated to sweets, which would be good to diversify (the same every day).
Food – breakfast is good, but monotonous. It does not change from the word in any way. It is clear that there is a lot to choose from, but every day it is the same at 5* -…
A buffet dinner is already more interesting, there is something new every day, the desserts are divine, but be prepared to pay for drinks every time, even for water. In my opinion, this is complete nonsense, because at least they could give everyone water, and already alcohol would be for an additional fee, but this is not only here…
If you are tired of the buffet, you can sign up for dinner in the hotel restaurants in a day (5-6 of them in total), I recommend Brazilian, the format is cool) Italian is for an amateur, the fish rest is also good, it is right by the sea) Some musician is playing during dinner, but don't expect the level of Matsuev and Spivakov here, it will go purely for the atmosphere)
There is not much entertainment here. There are some ala show programs in the neighboring hotel every evening, I've been there a couple of times, but to be honest, the level is not right. It is strange that there is nothing authentic – Cypriot or Greek music/dance. In the evening, I recommend going to the fountain show (10 minutes from the hotel), have fun! There is also a small amusement park, you can also go there once. A popular local attraction is the church of the Prophet Elijah, but it is better to go there during the day, because in the evening the view is not the same. A decent McDonalds, compared to our import substitution, is top!
In terms of excursions and leisure, I can advise Attica Holidays (the hotel is familiar with them, they can bring them together), Russian-speaking guides conduct excursions at reasonable prices, there are still different options for sea trips.
It is clear that there are still many points of growth for the hotel, but having a lot of experience visiting different hotels, this one is definitely recommended for visiting!
Perhaps the best hotel with a sandy beach in Cyprus. The staff is wonderful, but you can find a few comments:
- there is no toilet next to the main restaurant. With children, you have to take the elevator down to the 1st floor, or go up to the room.
- paid coffee (cappuccino or latte) even at breakfast.
- limited number of meals and drinks when ordering in the room.
- the minibar is filled only at the entrance (as a gift), then it is supplemented only with water.
Perfect price/quality ratio. Excellent food. You need to work with the service a little bit, but it's not critical. Well-organized territory. I hope the pandemic won't affect this hotel.
The staff responsible for the beach places treats vacationers inattentively with arrogance. Often not in place .the staff working at the pool restaurant is very attentive, especially the administrator. The food is very tasty and healthy. For every taste!!!
Probably the best hotel in Protaras! Service and food rating 5 out of 5. I was pleased with the variety for breakfast and dinner. The beach is one of the best on the coast! The purest sea!
Nice 5* hotel in Protaras by the sea. Many of the hotel staff speak Russian. In the very center of Protaras, between the main street and the beach. Large well-maintained territory.
We were in it in the year of opening, about 7 years ago, my wife still can't forget delicious breakfasts and coffee in the morning, requires a repeat of the banquet))
