You need to visit 1 time, but only by car, on foot, it seems to me, it will be difficult. It's beautiful, the whole of Sukhum is in the palm of your hand. Only at the very top the view is worse than on the restored beautiful observation deck somewhere in the middle. Trees and bushes block the view from above.

There is not much interesting on the hill, the view of the city and the sea is almost everywhere blocked by leaves. The best pictures can be taken from the stairs to the fountain. An example is a photo with the lights of evening Sukhum and the sea.
The fountains are quite atmospheric.
Cows can be found at the top of the hill near the fountain ...
Judging by the appearance, there has been no repair of structures for quite a long time.

You really can't see anything from the top of the mountain. Everything was overgrown with trees. But before reaching the top, you can still see the city and the port.
It is clear that they are trying to improve the territory at the top, even they have made a fountain. But this is a drop in the bucket. The Soviet lost beauty is still very far away.

We took a taxi to this observation deck, looked at the city and went upstairs for an even better view. But he's not here. Everything is overgrown with trees. But it's very clean to take a walk - for fans of terrenkurs)) But we went back along the non-tourist streets - and just loved the beauty of the houses and everything around. And we also had lunch at the Ashkhardats cafe - this is a separate story and love from the first khinkalka))

Sukhumi Mountain, or, as it is still called by locals, Funicular. A very picturesque place. Lianas, palm trees, figs, bamboo. If you love the nature of Abkhazia, you are here! Several locations on the mountain are being restored, including an observation deck with a colonnade. The mountain offers a magnificent view of the whole city. I recommend taking a taxi to the TV tower (200 rubles), and walking down. In addition to the views from the mountain and the riot of nature, a great bonus will be a walk along the old Papaskir Street (formerly Papaskiri).

There is a dump at the top and a privacy area in every convenient place, apparently the locals use the mountain to hide from the eyes and evening entertainment.

A good place, although it was a species for a very long time, apparently then there was really a good view of the city from the rotunda, now it is overgrown with trees, the rotunda itself is living out its life, it does not have long left. The stairs themselves are still in pretty good condition. On the opposite side, lower, there is a memorial to those who died in the 1993 war. Nearby is a city TV tower, a tall building. You can get almost to the end by car, but it's better to walk. There are few people in the season, it is hot, although if you go from the center, there are several interesting old buildings and remnants of the former luxury of the USSR. From the other side of the mountain you can go down to the outskirts of the city, in one place there is a good view of the valley and the mountains. In order not to repeat myself, I went up from there, and went down to the central part of the city. I took away the fifth star for the rotunda's mess and garbage. Garbage is generally a scourge of these places in Abkhazia. And it's not about tourists, but about their attitude to their own history and infrastructure.

I appreciate nature and the park and architectural heritage, regardless of its current state. Yes, it's ruined. Especially the rotunda. But the stairs beckon you to walk along them. The eye catches the most beautiful, magnificent nature everywhere - in combination with the conceived architectural ensemble. All over the planet, many of these legacies suffer from a lack of proper care. I wish this place and its like to find a second life ❤

A sad sight for past beauties. Everything is in an abandoned state, although we found the beginning of restoration work at the very bottom. There's not much to see at the top. The fauna has grown and blocks the view from the mountain.
You shouldn't come here on purpose, but if you have nothing to do, you can kill time and train your legs.

Sukhumi mountain at an altitude of 201m above sea level. At the beginning of the way there are old buildings around. You can take beautiful photos there and enjoy a view of the evening Sukhum. It takes about 20 minutes to walk up, there are benches where you can relax. At the top there are stone stairs in different directions, as well as an abandoned fountain. The territory is not particularly cared for. An abandoned Rotunda (the former Amzu restaurant) will open for you at the top The feeling of an abandoned city. Of course, we expected more, but it's worth a visit.
