This is the second version of the monument. The first one was installed in 2017, but caused outrage among many citizens, including Chokmorov's relatives. The customer, represented by the Suimonkul Chokmorov Public Foundation, recognized the monument as a "creative experiment", and it was decided to replace it. Suimonkul Chokmorov has played more than 20 film roles and painted almost 500 paintings. He died in 1992 at the age of 53 after a long illness — the artist suffered from polycystic kidney disease.
