Everything is almost perfect for the lunch menu. The service and prices are top class. It's cozy, the interior is interesting.
What I would like to add:
There are not enough old things in the interior, or at least their models.
I would like to scold the artist who painted the "white sun of the desert" hall, take off his cap and send him to the courses. Everything is shallow and featureless.
The obvious disadvantage: poor ventilation. The clothes for lunch smelled of food(.

The service (Maxim worked with us) is very polite, responds to requests quickly and clearly, gave his recommendations understanding (the menu is extensive). While I was sitting, it was cozy all the time, the atmosphere was gorgeous, just like the whole theme of this institution. Live music after 21.00 on Saturday and Friday. There are several halls with slightly different furnishings. I really liked it. Respect to Maxim, a gorgeous waiter.

The dishes are not so straightforward. They were also well-cooked, and we were served perfectly safe. There were also questions about serving, but, as they say, every restaurateur and chef sees in his own way.

We took the Sakhalin soup and borscht - just great! The menu is quite diverse, the prices are slightly above average. I didn't like the slight pathos among the staff, while the overall impression was not spoiled by the delicious cuisine. We were at lunchtime, but judging by the popularity of the place in the evening, it's worth booking a table in advance. I definitely recommend you to visit!

Recommended to everyone who came to Gomel.
But I felt that the service and dishes were gradually deteriorating.
And what I saw now.
The time is still 30 minutes before closing, and the staff cheerfully goes home, shouting "goodbye" to their colleagues throughout the hall.
There are no waiters.
The service is disgusting.
I ran out of beer, and I couldn't get through to anyone.
The dish has noticeably deteriorated in terms of ingredients. Sausages have disappeared from the Bruleisky pancakes, they have changed for something.
And for the place of sausages, another dranik was added (it is also cheaper than sausages). In place of sausages, the dish contains either chicken offal, or finely chopped other sausages, I did not even understand.
The musical background of modern youthful performers (very certainly fits into the interior).
At the entrance, the "fifth point" is met by a gardener washing the floor with her hands in front of the girdirope. He'll probably give me the jacket later with unwashed hands.
HORROR!!!
The administrator apparently does not care deeply that there are visitors in the hall.
She and the bartender are on the phones.

It's a wonderful place that we came to by chance on May 1st. It was very symbolic to plunge into the atmosphere of the Soviet years on such a day. Everything was delicious: the food and the tinctures. One serving of "Fisherman's Fish soup" is worth it: with a firebrand in a cast-iron skillet. When we are in Gomel, we will definitely look at the light again. And we recommend it to everyone!

In fact, draniki are distributed along the walls of the pot, which stick together and when you want to take them, some of the draniki remains on the walls of the pot. And on top of the pancakes is mutton in sauce))) And it all turns into porridge😅 The draniki, which were on top and without sauce, are delicious

A magnificent restaurant in the style of the USSR. The prices are reasonable, and the menu is excellent, there is even Sorrel (soup). Everything is very tasty, the quality of cooking is excellent, there are often no empty seats - it is better to book in advance.
The only negative is the strange receptionist, who did not want to put us in jail under the pretext of lack of seats (the waiters immediately found and told us not to listen to this woman).
Apparently, there are not enough waiters. Guys, pay them more - there will be no problems with personnel.

We came, sat down, just started to get acquainted with the menu, he comes and asks if you are ready to order, we said a couple more minutes. He comes back a minute later and does it twice. Honestly, I just wanted to get it done as soon as possible so that it wouldn't come near us anymore. Then we left the table, passing by the office, we heard him (Maxim) discussing us with someone, it became very unpleasant, the mood was spoiled. We liked the dishes, although the potatoes with chanterelles were barely warm when they arrived. I liked it, but I didn't like it at all, thank you!

A very atmospheric place in the city center. I highly recommend it for the entourage of the Soviet era. The kitchen is great too. You can safely take foreigners there to try Belarusian cuisine. The establishment is large, there are many halls and orders. Therefore, there is a feeling that the waiters could not cope. Choose a place where you will be noticed and not lost for 20 minutes.
The serving of dishes is very interesting, original recipes. I recommend the dranburger. Delicious meat snacks. Tinctures?! It seems that restaurants in Gomel are lame in this regard. The place has a great Cranberry. And a great mega Bucket in general. But....We need to work on the rest. More taste means less alcohol. The horseradish did not work out, it was very bitter and there was little taste. The berry ones didn't work out either. With nuts, it is not at all clear. Fix it and I will definitely come...Just make it cool for people to thank you. The kitchen is super. The entourage too. The waiters are normal. The prices are average and adequate. I recommend that you definitely come in. Oh, yes....excellent unfiltered wheat beer :)

I've been visiting this place occasionally (for 10 years now). I like that you always know what to expect and nothing changes (in a good way). Very tasty and well-decorated dishes. One serving is 100% full. If there are cranberries in the dish, then it really is cranberries, not tasteless red balls. If it's mors, then it's made from berries and has a good sourness. The restaurant itself has four well-decorated themed halls. There is a wardrobe. I recommend you to visit.

We visited this institution on January 2, 2025. I can say that it's the worst place I've ever seen. To be more precise, the kitchens. The cafe is certainly interesting for its interior, but the cuisine is so-so (grungy), especially the hodgepodge, which everyone praises so much. And as they assure that 450ml is there, then this is a hoax. A big plate that blurred everything. It feels like someone has already eaten it before you (they also ate it in Gomel before, it was 10 times better, but be led by the reviews). A family of 5 people received 102BY (in Russian rubles 3.253), this included a 16.5 (511₽) solyanka, a liter of mors and 3 branded breads. It's interesting to go in and see and leave, of course, but I don't recommend ordering anything from this place.

We visited the business lunch on time, I made an order from the lunch menu (salad + hot), friends from the main one). Friends "couldn't cope", the main menu can be ordered one serving for two. A note on lemonade, I was expecting some kind of branded lemonade, as it should be with "gaziki", in the end they just poured syrup and water, and most of the syrup turned out to be at the bottom of the glass, apparently they did not stir it.
I recommend you to visit, do not take lemonade.

To all those who were born in the USSR and grew up watching films of golden classics, then you are definitely here, in this atmospheric and cozy cafe "Old Time".
Lunch was organized in this cafe for our tour group, by the appointed hour the tables were served and since we were limited in time, the waiter girls served us very quickly. The portions were large, the dishes themselves were simple and without frills, but tasty and satisfying.
For those who will be in Gomel as a guest, I definitely recommend to visit 👍
