We stayed at the hotel for 3 years in a row, in November 2016, 2017, 2019. Polite staff, daily room cleaning, clean area. The hotel has a great location between two unique beaches, Karon and Kata. The beaches are within walking distance. There are a lot of shops, bars and cafes along the street.
Very convenient location between 2 beaches (Kata and Karon), many cafes and shops nearby. The 2 buildings of the hotel are located on a fairly steep hill, these buildings themselves have no elevator, they have 4 floors - if you have heart problems, you should ask in advance to the lower buildings. The rooms are clean. they are bright, and the view from the balconies of the upper floors is pleasant. There is always water in the bathroom. The TV shows a lot of programs, only the first channel is in Russian. The breakfasts are monotonous (scrambled eggs, sausage, salad, tea, bread). Wi-Fi is only available at the reception and in the dining room. In general, I liked the hotel, if possible, I will choose it again :)
It was our first time in Thailand and we know for sure that we will return to Phuket) I really liked it!
By the beaches: the hotel is located between two cool beaches - Kata and Karon. We went to Karon - the water is cleaner, the entrance to the sea is convenient, the sand is crisp. There is a stinky river next to the Rink, we only went there to look (the view is of course cool - on an island surrounded by the sea). Karon is literally 7 minutes away from the hotel, and Kata is 15 minutes away.
The hotel: The rooms are large, there is a refrigerator, air conditioning, glasses, a kettle (you need to ask at the reception), some people took a hairdryer and scales at the reception (to weigh suitcases before departure). We had a great view from the balcony - the sea and the Big Buddha) - building D. There are a lot of cupboards in the room. Towels and linen are changed 1 time in 4 days, toilet paper is also brought every 4 days. There are no beach towels. We put 2 small pieces of soap in the beginning, there was no shampoo, but we knew and took everything with us. The breakfasts are the same - fried or boiled eggs with sausages, tomatoes, cucumbers, noodles or rice, 2 toasts per person, coffee or tea, watermelon (4 pieces per person). It is quite possible to eat enough. Cafes in the area, and shops open from 10 o'clock, so it's convenient when breakfast is included. There is a photo of breakfast. Wi-Fi is available at the reception and in the cafe (where breakfast is served, above the reception). The person is responsive - they will give you scissors and thread with a needle! There is no animation for children and adults in the hotel, so those who are used to being entertained at every turn, the hotel is not for you. And those who are used to entertaining themselves and children, and are not looking for disadvantages in everything - the hotel will suit you. And remember, this is not Turkey, where everything is included! But there is something to see, the sea is warmer than in Turkey and there are super beaches nearby!!!
Shops: there is 7eleven not far from the hotel, family mart is further away - prices are lower than in the rest, on the way to the sea. There is a large store about 20 minutes away - Makro food Service - resembles our Auchan - the price tag is lower, some products are only in bundles, packages. There are even fruits, longan and pitaya bat are 30 cheaper than in the markets, they took it, the taste is exactly the same.
Fruits were more often taken in a tent at the hotel - the prices for them are about the same everywhere.
Cafe: we often had dinner at the Kwong Shop Seafood Restaurant, located 10 minutes from the hotel, friendly staff, delicious food (the serving is always very spectacular), fruits and salad are always a compliment to all visitors, the portions are large. They brought beer with them, they never said a word. You can find quite European dishes - meat, chicken, shrimp, fish, Thai local cuisine (their local dishes are 70-90 baht). For two, dinner was 400-500 baht (meat and fish were taken). Thai dishes will be twice as cheap.
We went to Chekhov - Tom Yam there, of course, it's super!!! There is much more seafood than in the Kwong Shop Seafood Restaurant, but the price tag is 150 baht for the soup (it is certainly worth it). There are 239 set lunches and 289 baht dinners (salad to choose from, hot or soup, dessert and fruit). There is enough soup for two people.
Yes, friends, the hotel is not five stars. But the beaches of Karon and Kato are nearby, there are many cafes and a market within walking distance. After all, we came to rest. My relatives and I have been on the beach since 7 a.m. Lunch at a cafe and back to the beach or shopping. They came around 8 p.m. tired, but happy. In the evening, we took local rum (we called it San Sanych, I don't drink strong drinks myself, but this one is really delicious) and local delicacies, sat down by the pool and pumped up. Not really, this hotel is purely for Russians. No, of course it's unpleasant that the towels are leaky, but the room is always clean, bed linen is changed every three days, the air conditioner is a beast. The main one behind the hotel is Balobek, a good guy helped with everything, especially with the choice of excursions. I especially liked the excursion to the Similan Islands, under the guidance of the guide Ruslan. This guy is generally handsome, literate, well-read, I think he knows everything about Thailand and its history. If you are in Phuket, take an excursion to the Similan Islands and it is under the guidance of the guide Ruslan, "Handsome" do not get old. It was my first time abroad and I can say that Phuket is the island of my dreams, I fell in love with it. Thanks to all the employees of the Anex tour agency, real professionals work there
We had a rest from January 4 to January 13, 2020. This is not the first time in Phuket. Everything that is written about the hotel is mostly true. Breakfasts are monotonous, not for everyone! The bed linen, especially the towels (torn!) are very old. Balabek hotel guide. Everything that is written bad about him is not true! A wonderful guide! We all liked him very much. He talks about everything in great detail, helped everyone with all the questions that arose. And a lot of people came, there were a lot of questions about check-in, accommodation, meals, excursions. And he managed to help everyone. From morning to late evening I ran around three hotels. Balabek is a wonderful guide and person! We lived in building C on the ground floor. Plus, this building has very large rooms, there were no animals in the room. The construction site nearby and the slotting can be heard well, sometimes they hammered on the foundation of the building - everything was shaking! But it didn't bother us much to relax. They didn't even pay attention. A hotel between two beaches. We went to Karon, it is closer and we liked it more. It takes 5-7 minutes to walk. There are many shops. There is a night market nearby. We went on an excursion to the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. We really liked it there. Before that, we used to be in Cambodia, we watched the Ankor Wat temple complex - it's super!!! I think the foundation work will end soon and it will be even more comfortable to rest.
I didn't like minor flaws that can be fixed without major investments. For example, torn and stained curtains, an old not very successful shower watering can (pours anywhere but on you), it's hard to turn on the air conditioner (or replace the batteries in the remote control, or clean the buttons), a short curtain in the shower (hang a longer curtain, or at least put it in a water trough, etc.K. while you're washing, the whole room is in water). It is also stated that there is a kettle in the room. In fact, it does not exist.
Another small disadvantage is the noise from the construction site nearby. Only during the day. He didn't bother me personally.
And so in general, in order to take a shower after the sea and spend the night is quite normal. There is a shower, toilet, two large mirrors, wardrobe, safe, air conditioning, fan, very comfortable bed, balcony with dryer.... The hotel is located near a very good Karon beach (maybe 7-8 minutes on foot). Fruits are sold near the hotel at a market price.
Also on the way to the beach there is a cafe where you can have an inexpensive breakfast (20 Baht from 7.00 to 9.00, 40 Baht from 9.00 to 11.00). The night market is within walking distance.
Declared 3*, maybe so, but.... It is clear that there are three stars, but microwaves are usually put in the rooms and water. There is a construction site next to the pool (8-10 meters). The excavator hammers the rock from 10:00 to 17:00, there is a lunch break. At the end of January 2020, there were no Russian-speaking employees, although the guests spoke only Russian at the hotel. There are no breakfasts. There is no Wi-Fi in the rooms. But all the disadvantages are covered by one big PLUS: Karon beach is 10 minutes on foot, Kata is 15 minutes away. So if you can forget about the living conditions, you can go.
An ordinary hotel for an overnight stay, to wash up and no more. The room was in building a. The room has an old TV, refrigerator, safe, air conditioning, ceiling fan. Everything worked. More or less. Cleaning every day, linen is changed after 3 days. Breakfasts in the "Indian" style. The variety is only in the side dish. Day rice, day noodles. The pool is clean. An ordinary normal hotel. For those who don't show off. The location is 5+!
We stayed at this hotel several times because of the excellent location, there is no need to climb up the hill, this is important for us, In November 2019 we were unpleasantly disappointed with the changes, namely, construction began and the hotel management changed. It used to be better. In building E (new), kettles and cups have disappeared, they do not give water, the linen is torn. Terrible towels, I had to buy them in Saven. We will not go to this hotel anymore.
Convenient location. The hotel for level 2* is quite acceptable, we lived in building C, room 403. One of the big disadvantages is a terrible mattress, you need to get exhausted during the day in order to manage to fall asleep on it, you are guaranteed to wake up in the morning with a seal from the spring.
I liked only the beach and the sea, i.e. the location . And as for the beach, it is not well maintained, there are no changing rooms and toilets. As for the hotel, it's the most terrible place I've ever met. The staff did everything possible to make the situation worse: they speak only their native language, you won't get help from them, and cleanliness is not their strong suit.
On the day of arrival and on the day of departure, they are deprived of breakfast. They don't give you lunch boxes. It's the same if you go on an early excursion. Of the fruits, only watermelon and that is one per person. The rooms are shabby, but in principle it will do to spend the night, because we do not come to sit in the rooms.
Otherwise, everything is normal.
Very good location!
Convenient location, early check-in, spacious rooms without insects. Among the disadvantages are the old stock of bed linen and towels, a 1p change of linen in 4 days, monotonous meager breakfasts
The room does not correspond to reality, according to the photos provided, it is necessary to equip the rooms with a hairdryer, a kettle, dishes in the form of glasses, plates and forks. It is necessary to repair the broken interior items in the room. To diversify the breakfasts.
Old rusty noisy split systems, torn towels, the breakfasts are the same for all 10 days, the lamp did not light up well and there are no electric heaters and hair dryers in the rooms
Everything is nothing but the attitude of the staff, it is in the dining room (if you can even call it that) The dining room is a quiet horror and the staff serving there. Everything else is tolerable. The location relative to the sea is gorgeous!
The guide is great there, the hotel is not very good, the staff is disgusting, the breakfasts are terrible (every day scrambled eggs, 2 sausages and fermented ketchup)
Dirty, equal towels, copied from other hotels. The sheets are torn. There was no kettle in the room. There are 2 tea sets for one in the room. The staff is not responding to anything. 1 plus the location.
There is no WiFi in the rooms, bed linen is changed every 3 days, soap, shampoo, toothbrush are missing, the food is so-so, but overall not a bad hotel.
