1) The location is simply gorgeous, the beach is 2 minutes at the bar for 130lir fresh and your sunbed and the sea is clean, it takes 20 minutes to walk to the center on foot slowly
2) The rooms are normal for 3*, there was not enough high chair or bedside table for things, the air conditioner worked strangely, but not critically, pillows, mattresses are comfortable
3) The food for 9 days is normal, the vegetables were always fresh, you can choose delicious desserts, the meat is too small, but I don't eat much, I was normal)
4) excursions to historical Pamukale Hierapolis, etc. it is probably better to take a hotel guide so that the guide is definitely Russian, from the locals across the street if only excursions like the Aegean Islands, rafting can be taken
We rested at the Sonnen Hotel in the second half of September 2024
Advantages and nuances of the hotel:
1. the hotel is clean, the floors are washed with a huge koercher machine, the room was also cleaned perfectly, any cups and dishes on site are promptly cleaned
2. The rooms are not huge, but quite comfortable. Those that go out into the courtyard are quieter, they almost do not hear the rather loud embankment. Special thanks for the bathroom - the shower room is spacious and very clean. There are a couple of chairs on the balcony for drying clothes
3. restaurant and bar - here you will not see dozens of types of side dishes, salads, desserts or hot dishes, which many fives are famous for, do not forget that this is a three;) But it is important to note that despite the small selection, almost everything is delicious at home
I will list what I especially remember:
breakfast is a delicious omelette, which is prepared in front of you with tomatoes, peppers and cheese and for which there are queues, otherwise, as usual, cheeses, sliced, yoghurts, greens, oranges
for lunch and dinner:
- side dishes (rice, noodle rice - a very tasty kind of rice, rustic potatoes, French fries, stewed vegetables)
- hot (chicken, kebabs, very tasty and tender turkey, white fish used to be), - the freshest pide with cheese (similar to khachapuri), minced meat, herbs, pizza is very even Nothing
- there are very few fruits, but every lunch and dinner we ate the most delicious watermelons and melons, we still need to look for such
- there are also quite a few desserts, but among them it is worth highlighting brownies, which are just perfect, chocolate dough with a delicate chocolate impregnation, not sickly sweet, namely chocolate, there were also cakes with a delicate dough at the bottom, and a chocolate jelly-like cap on top, in addition, in foil trays similar to chocolate cheese carat jelly. I emphasize that it is not wildly sweet, but it is the chocolate taste, we tried the rest of the cakes and did not really like them. It was also so delicious that they used to go for more, but there were almost always completely empty plates
The service in the restaurant should be noted separately - the waiters promptly take away empty plates, prepare tables so that everyone can start eating as soon as possible, they are very polite and always say thank you in Turkish, English and Russian.
The bar is excellent, strong alcohol was not drunk, beer, as in almost all of Turkey, is almost non-alcoholic, but it is pleasantly refreshing, cola and sprite from the vending machine in the bar taste better than our branded glass. Russian Russian is a very responsive and prompt bartender, he diligently studies the Russian language and sometimes it seems that he is not particularly Turkish, but rather even Russian, judging by the phrases and wishes of "bon appetit";)
4. Beach and sea - walk to the sea less than 200 meters from the room door to the entrance to the sea, there are small pebbles along with sand on the shore, then after sunset mostly sand, stones are rarely found. Of the superpluses, the sea is calm in the morning (flat as a pond), and in the evening small waves and then not always. We swam on this trip more than ever, the sea is one of the best in Turkey, and we have already visited many cities. The water at the entrance is refreshing, but then you don't want to get out at all, sometimes fish surround you when entering the sea, but unlike Oludeniz or Side, where it was also very pleasant, none of us were bitten here
5. the embankment is long and very beautiful, there are many nice cafes, tourists and locals walk in the evening, various shows are arranged in restaurants, live music is playing
Disadvantages of the hotel and the beach:
1. Internet as luck would have it - in some rooms it catches even from the bed, and in others it catches very poorly even on the balcony. If you really need it, then it catches perfectly in the lobby or near the pool
2. audibility in the room is generally quite calm, but if loud neighbors start up or two cleaners decide to chat in the hallway after lunch, then you will find out about it
3. a place to enter the sea - after going to the embankment, you come across a huge number of cafes that stand solidly, flowing from one to another, the territory on the shore is also completely occupied by them, up to the water itself there are sun beds. "Kind" touts offer free sun beds, but with a small condition - everyone should take a drink, which is on average about 400 lira, for four it turns out 1600 lira or almost 5 thousand rubles for a visit to the sea. We ourselves like to swim up to an hour and a half per call, but not to lie down and sunbathe, so we do not see any point in overpaying for such tempting offers. As a result, we went to a neutral territory, where we left our slippers and clothes, after which we immediately went swimming
4. The environment. Quite a lot of foreigners (mostly British, also Poles, local Turks) are still a plus, as they behave quite quietly and calmly. But in places there are compatriots who like to turn on Anna Asti, who is all around the pool, who is all over the bars or Raspberry Lada, who rushes beyond the MKAD (I have nothing against performers and songs, but when it screams to the fullest and does not specify whether the whole hotel wants to listen to it, then somehow it does not become comme il faut). I also felt Spanish shame when a compatriot, who was quite tipsy from morning until night, persistently urged the bartender to learn Russian, since he works here. But there were only a couple of similar cases during the entire trip, so they did not overshadow the impressions of the rest
To summarize:
1. The sea is one of the best in Turkey
2. The food is tastier than in many of the five that you have previously visited
3. The location of the hotel is super-convenient
4. I consider the disadvantages against the background of all the advantages insignificant and highly recommend both the Sonnen Hotel and Marmaris in general to everyone
A good budget hotel. The location is good, everything is nearby. Entertainment, bars, restaurants. Shops, market. A square with singing fountains. The main attraction of the city is the Old Fortress of Marmaris. A port with various yachts. Tour desks. The food is normal, for four-. The sea is nearby. Sun beds for an additional fee.the fee.
