We have been vacationing in Abkhazia for many, many years! We stayed at this hotel! The combination of the proximity of the best beach and the sea! The proximity of the Temple to the services! Cathedral with organ music (unfortunately, there is an organ, not God, but God "huddles next to in a tent, as always with people, He is in the "first place"! )
There are wonderful canteens, cafes and restaurants around! Minibuses and tourist trips throughout Abkhazia!
The hotel is a perfect combination of price and quality!
An attentive hostess! A cozy courtyard! Kitchen with all possible utensils...
own tables for meals and gatherings with friends. Free parking! About air conditioners with cold / heat, shower and towels, ... , I'll mention just in case - everything is available!
This is my first negative review. It was also the first time we left the booked hotel. I really love holidays in Abkhazia. A beautiful country, wonderful nature.
I booked 2 rooms and made an advance payment in the amount of 6 tons. The cost in mid-September for a day is 3 t.p. - room. In the photo we see a well-groomed green courtyard, average but well-maintained rooms. In fact, everything is much worse. The yard is very small, not well maintained. The rooms are in poor condition (by the way, they were not ready at the time of check-in). The beds are partly very old. In san.the node has an old worn tile. The kitchen under the awning is battered and dirty. In general, we did not stay. There was no question of spending at least a day there. Right up to turning around and going home. I will say this in Abkhazia they also lived in the private sector with amenities on the street, but when it is a well-groomed large courtyard, a clean equipped kitchen and rooms, albeit with simple furniture, but not a prefabricated hodgepodge of beds from the 80s and 2000s and you pay for this room 1000 - 1200 and not 3 tons, then this is a completely different matter. They didn't return our 6 tons or even half of them.
I always thought that bad reviews were written by evil people who have nothing to do. But this review is written for those who want to have a good rest and if this review helps someone make the right choice, then I will be glad.
By the way, my children and I found an excellent hotel for the same 3 tons and had a great rest in our favorite Pitsunda.
We went on vacation in June 2018 with my husband and 2 children, 9 and 6 years old. We booked by phone: we answered all questions and offered a triple room + a euro cot (the cot was broken). Upon arrival, we were promised a glass of wine for each adult, but we were not offered for the whole vacation. We arrived early in the morning in Gagra and the owner sent a car for us (the car cost 500 rubles to Pitsunda). We reached Pitsunda in 20 minutes, but since we arrived early, the owner was still asleep and could not meet us, we had to wait. Our room had a split system, however, after a couple of days, it broke down and water started dripping from it. There was no siphon under the sink in the bathroom, so the smell in the room was even worse. The handle to the bathroom broke already on day 1, as it initially hung on my word of honor. Hanging clothes to dry was a big problem, as there was always not enough space and it was very tight with clothespins. The mattress on the double bed was just awful, it felt like they were sleeping on rocks. There was a stove for cooking on the 1st floor, but we ate at the mirage cafe next to the sea. Laundry costs 150 rubles. I washed a couple of times and for 2 times they didn't even give me change from 200 rubles (the owner said he would change it and give it back, but apparently "forgot"). in general, they have a tight exchange there, even with 1000 rubles they do not always give change, so if you go there only with small money, there is nothing to do with 5000. We found only 2 ATMs in the city. the sea is warm, clean, calm. There were few people on the beach, but it was June. so on the whole we are satisfied.
