Excellent location.
Positive: 1) all the main attractions are nearby. 2) the metro is 8-10 minutes on foot. 3) the view of the city during breakfast and the breakfast itself, you can eat so that you will be full before dinner. 4) there is a kettle in the room. 5) air conditioning 6) friendly staff will help you with everything, they speak Russian, English, Azerbaijani. 7) there is Wi-Fi.
Minuses: 1) the socket (there was one and then it almost hung out of the wall, I had to hold it when you take off and put on the charger and the cord from the kettle)
2) mini fridge for an additional fee.
3) a dirty bathtub, after the shower there was a puddle on the floor.
4) who registers in the booking, be careful, there is one address at 72, and in fact at 55. Because of this, we couldn't find a hotel for a long time.
It is mainly suitable for those who come to the hotel to spend the night, have breakfast and go explore the city)
Enough for 2-4 days.
No one enters the room during your stay, only upon your request for cleaning or changing towels.
The very center of the ancient city of Icheri-Sheher! The hotel is inside the city walls, among many narrow streets that do not look like one another, everything is very clean, all buildings are finished with sandstone. The hotel itself is consistent with the price and quality, the staff speaks Russian, they will always help, breakfast is served in the restaurant on the top floor, which offers panoramic views of the city and the sea. The breakfasts are the same, they consist of a set of cups with cheeses, jams, sauces, a kettle and bread, everything is delicious and did not bother, I do not want to eat until the evening. The room stock is different , there is a choice , towels are changed on request. The weak point of plumbing, first of all, check the operability of the shower cabins , if anything, require repairs or a change of room . Otherwise, everything is fine
We liked everything! Great location - the very center of the Old Town. Delicious breakfasts. Very loyal attitude- they responded to all requests, helped in everything. Well, a very affordable price, excellent match.
This is the worst hotel we've ever visited! It's hard to call this place a hotel!
To begin with, this hotel simply does not exist, and Sofia, as the administrator convinced us, is just the name of the building, it is not clear which hotel.
Checks and payment receipts are not issued upon check-in, there are no hotel letterheads, and the change for check-in was given to us for more than three days.
The hotel has a disgusting smell of rot and mold, it is terribly dirty, the carpet is stained, dirty old wallpaper and mold stains under them, the whole bathtub is mildewed, it feels like it has never been washed, the bed linen is not white, but gray with dirt, everything is torn, mattresses, blankets, pillows are all stained with dirtthere are bedbugs in the beds, the doors to the room are locked with a key, and the lock was broken more than once, the entrance door itself with glass inserts. The hotel has no heating, there is an air conditioner, but it has never been serviced or cleaned, like everything in this hotel-the smell of dust also comes from it.There are no curtains on half of the windows, and on those that are, the curtains have also never been washed.
After the previous guests, the liquid is simply added to the tubes from the "shampoos" and put in your room.
The room has not been cleaned once in a week! They didn't even take out the trash.
The declared buffet is not possible to eat-rotten eggs, dry bread, rotten cucumbers and sausage with mold.
The owners and staff are real scammers-not a single room matches the photos on the booking sites.
It is better to live on the street than in this "hotel".
Oh booooooeeee!!!! How long have I been waiting to write everything I think about this place!!!! This is the BOTTOM!!!!Not a hotel! She's been murdered! There is nothing whole. The rooms are cleaned very badly, moreover, judging by the amount of hair left by a person with alopecia. The linen and towels are gray from how they are washed, there is a terrible smell of sewage in the bathroom all the time, and it doesn't matter which room you are in, we looked at three to at least choose something cleaner. Immediately ask for another blanket, they are not double beds, but a bunk bed for a double bed. By the way, the photo of the restaurant is completely staged. Dirty, dirty, dirty and dirty again everywhere!!!! Complete ruin!!! I don't recommend it to anyone. Oh, and don't forget that by the time you get to her in the old town, you'll curse everything!!! Because cars don't drive up there.... The staff are "verbal" people who hardly understand what you need, and when they understand, they will not bring anything. Go yourself, citizens, on the principle of not being sent, and be happy about it!!!and for this horror, they will also take money, allegedly due to tax and exchange rate differences, if you decide to pay in currency on the spot.
The advantage of the hotel is that it is in the old town. Not an expensive price. If you have come specifically for a tour of old Baku, it is a convenient option. I don't know about the other rooms, but mine had carpet on the floor, worn with stains. As they say, the room is "very tired" and requires cosmetic repairs. The bathroom with a shower is normal. There was another disadvantage for me, it was difficult to find a hotel in the labyrinths of the old streets. Moreover, in the evening in the dark especially, the mobile Internet from Yandex maps was good. But it will go to spend the night.
If you want adventures that you will never forget, then welcome – this hotel is for you. By the way, it is better to go to this hotel immediately with an infectious diseases doctor, an experienced nurse who knows how to put ivs, and two strong men. Remember, all the photos you've seen on the site are well–seasoned lies. This is, to put it mildly, a grotesque exaggeration of the merits. This place has no advantages. And if you thought they were there, you imagined it. Let's start in order:
1. Service. Forget it. The change will be carried to you for two days, but they will ask for payment very intrusively and stand at the door while you wash in the shower for 30 minutes.
2. Cleaning. Forget that word too. We stayed for 4 days. We have never had the garbage taken out.
3. Toilet paper. One roll is enough for you. So keep in mind that this is the first and last roll you will see. Moreover, it is not a fact that it will be intact and unopened.
4. Cleanliness in the room. If you're lucky, you won't live on the ground floor with burnt carpets and torn wallpaper. But wait, the rooms on each of the four floors are like this. Just different degrees of murder. The first one still stinks of smoke and is noisy. We were put up the first night in just such a room. We perfectly heard the conversations from the reception and got the effect of full immersion. On the second day, we were very reluctantly overpowered to the 4th floor. The room was (thank God) without carpets, but that didn't make it much better. The floor was lined with different pieces of laminate. Perhaps we did not understand this design decision. The wallpaper is torn, the bed linen is also with holes. One pillow smelled like a cat. The toilet had a very interesting "swing" property and wobbled at any movement. In this case, we were very surprised that he still held on and did not let the water in. The shower is rusty, the bathroom tiles are broken. Towels in the amount of two pieces (and accordingly have never been changed).
5. The beautiful view that is listed on the website. Most likely you will not see it, because from the window (boarded up) you will see a piece of the roof and a piece of the wall.
6. A nice bonus. Why did we mention an infectious disease doctor at the beginning of the review? It's simple! You can easily get poisoned by tap water, even if you take the necessary protective measures. I went through this wonderful experience and I can say that I lost several kilograms in Baku, although I did not achieve this. I spent two days in bed and was ready to write my will. In general, I do not recommend doing anything with tap water. Just watch it flow. By the way, the day before my poisoning, we heard a woman throwing up in the next room. Then I wondered what had happened to her. Exactly the next day, I understood everything perfectly.
7. Audibility. The walls in the rooms are made of either drywall or plywood. You will perfectly hear someone coughing, snoring, and even breathing in the next room. In the morning we often heard a foreigner singing. He sang enthusiastically, but falsely, so a minus point.
8. On the last day we saw a cockroach, which is not surprising with such cleaning
How much it costs is what you can count on. 20€ or 36 manats per night is cheap for such an arrangement, but you have to sacrifice something.
The room is in poor condition - stripped wallpaper, dirty carpet, broken window handle. The hotel itself is very noisy, without earplugs I would not have fallen asleep at all.
It's OK to just sleep, but if you're coming for a few days, I don't recommend it.
It was very difficult to catch an employee at the reception, she was evicted by simply leaving the key on the table, but the guy himself was very polite and friendly. He speaks English and it's good.
In short, a cheap and angry option for those who need to roll the dice somewhere in the center for a few hours
It is not suitable for living, it was disgusting to stay even for one night, on the carpet all the stains that once appeared there, apparently it was decided to leave as a souvenir. It was very dirty, there was mold in the shower, we washed in slippers, the bed was in pellets, everything was old and very noisy. One of the worst places to ever stay
I have never seen a worse hotel and services in my life . First of all , they could not find a reservation , somehow they moved into the room at the reception .The Internet was missing for 1.5 days , then appeared for half a day, and then disappeared again! In which there is water running on the shower floor after the shower . And the most important feature of the room is ventilation with cold air next to the shower, it is not possible to wash, it is cold. I had to put a blanket and a jacket on the bucket in this way to somehow plug the hole . Then they moved , they chose where to go themselves , in one the shower just doesn 't really work , the plumbing itself is ancient . The floors are carpeted , they are not vacuumed , the shower doors are not washed . Cheap short sheets that turn out to be in the middle in the morning , hangers are missing in the cupboards, glasses have not been washed, forgotten. One day we came to the room and almost suffocated from the smell of sewage , we had to open the window in March ! There was almost a smell for a day . I have never seen such an outrage anywhere . The guys from the reception and others who are always rubbing there late at night and at night can calmly talk loudly, as well as the settled customers are not asked to silently go up to their room. The staircase is circular, everything can be heard like in a well, it's noisy. I haven 't slept a single normal night ..
Breakfast is only hearty and edible, the butter is "not creamy", it is impossible to eat, they could have changed the supply, you can only get sick from the taste. They don't serve national lavash, it's very bad.. It is no match for our Armenian compositions , where everything is forced to be scrubbed , where everything is new and shiny .
The only advantage is the location. We visited in March, there are practically no visitors. There is a problem with the language of communication, that is, Russian. The room was killed, on the 3rd floor, there was zero cleaning, they didn't even come in for a week. There is no view from the window, a small overview of the roof of the house. There was breakfast.
I really liked the hotel. The room was triple, clean. The receptionist is friendly. There is Wi-Fi. Russian channels are playing on TV. Breakfast was included. There was also a kettle in the room. And the view from the dining room window is simply gorgeous. In short, cool.
Friendly staff, good breakfast, beautiful view from the window, clean bed linen. Not very new renovation, plumbing problems, not all rooms are successful.
