The temple has survived to this day in a surprisingly good condition. Perhaps this is a consequence of the repair of the middle of the XIX century. and another repair of the Soviet era. The 1993 war bypassed it, and since this area is inhabited by Abkhazians, the post-war looters did not appear here either. The cathedral is not located in the village itself, but on its eastern outskirts, across the Mokva River. The cathedral is enclosed by a wall with a gate and directly borders the Mokva glade, so you can see this glade along with the cathedral
The place is very interesting, everything breathes history here. After the New Athos Monastery, I would put this church in second place in terms of beauty. The interior is stunning, there is an opportunity to go up to the second floor. Well, it's very beautiful there.

A beautiful peaceful place. Very beautiful. The people in it are nice
The place is very old and beautiful, against the background of mountains and nature, the cathedral of the tenth century is simply magnificent. If you're lucky, you might get into the service, it's just as beautiful... inside, you can walk around and take pictures, go up to the second floor. Get a positive charge and wonderful photos. The road is average, but it is possible to drive
1. A very hospitable Father.
2. A young man tells the origin of this old temple.
3. A cute girl sells handmade bracelets. Made of stones..
4. They also bought honey from beekeepers there - it was good.
5. We always take bottles with us to collect the purest water from the well.
An ancient temple in Eastern Abkhazia. Beautiful, majestic, colorful, it fits perfectly into the surrounding landscape. The cathedral has excellent acoustics, its decorations are ancient frescoes and icons. In one of the side chapels there is a tomb of members of the princely family.
A visit to this cathedral is included in the program called "To the holy places of Eastern Abkhazia". If you are in Apsny, set aside one day for this wonderful trip.
One of the few temples where it was easy for me to pray. The presence of God is so clearly felt here. Unfortunately, church services are rarely held. But from time to time, the priests come and serve prayers. The caretaker of the temple lives nearby. When visiting this place in small groups or individual travelers, you should contact him.
The cathedral was built in 960 by the Abkhazian king Leon the third, but the building is very well preserved and still admires. It's a pity the frescoes and murals inside were all destroyed during the Soviet era.
An amazing place! We have never felt such peace anywhere, but we have already visited many temples in Abkhazia. The effect may have been felt due to the complete absence of people, including tourists. There was only my mother in the temple, who was happy to talk to us and told us about the place. There was also a local man and a dog wandering around the territory, who met us on arrival).
The temple impresses with its architecture, it may not be very expressive from the outside, but it is very interesting inside. I recommend definitely visiting. We traveled by car, the road to Mokva is generally very decent, paved, except for the direct entrance to the temple grounds.

An interesting place for lovers of ancient temples. But to get inside, you have to be lucky.
A very beautiful and impressive temple. A place with a special atmosphere. There is only 1 person who serves in the temple, who also watches over him. On the territory itself, you need to look at your feet, cows are grazing here, so you can step in ...
I recommend that you definitely visit. You need to not only visit here, but also listen to his story, then you will understand why he is in such a state from the inside.
The architecture is curious for an Orthodox church, the remains of frescoes. Services are not held, but there is a local caretaker. The remains of the last princes of Abkhazia are resting
