Just 10 minutes by vaporetto from San Marco Square and you are on another island of the Venetian lagoon - San Giorgio with the cathedral of the same name (since 1566). The island is small, the cathedral is beautiful - all white inside and outside. The island has been known since the time of the Roman Empire, then there was a Benedictine monastery here - which was closed by Napoleon. Now everything belongs to the Diocese of Venice. The view from the bell tower (there is an elevator) is breathtaking. I recommend it!

For 5 euros, climb the bell tower of this church. From there, you can look at the queue of those who want to climb the Campanile in St. Mark's Square.
