Riga. We visited in early 2020. A month before the pandemic. In times of active tourism. The city, especially the center, is beautiful with its antiquity and narrow streets. To be honest, that's what we came for. A certain mixture of European styles, as an echo of the reign of different European countries in this part. The Baltic states gained independence only under the USSR, and before that it was under someone, hence the beautiful "venegret" of styles. The weather is quite tolerable for January. We didn't experience any crazy emotions. The old part of the city is not big. You can get around it in a day and... that's it. The second day was spent on repeated rounds, choosing restaurants for gastronourism and going to the central market for herring.
I love this place! No crowds, no queues. The view of the city is beautiful at any time of the year. Whenever I come to Riga, I always go up and admire the views. The toilet is free
