I recently returned from an unforgettable tour to Azerbaijan, and I want to express my sincere gratitude to Said for organizing this magnificent trip. From the very beginning of our trip, Said proved himself to be a true professional.

A trip to the south of the country in Lenkoran. Thank you Smile Tour for organizing an excursion to the land of tea and citrus fruits. In a full sense, an educational trip with a pleasant aftertaste.
The tour is relatively long, with a one-way distance of more than 250 km. Fully commit to 12 hours. A comfortable minibus, an interesting tour along the road from the Turkan guide. During the journey, we visited three climatic zones: the dry coastal subtropics of Baku, the steppe climate of the foothills and, of course, the humid subtropics of the southern valleys. The road runs along modern expressways, without traffic jams. For fans of industrial tourism, there are majestic offshore oil production platforms-floating cities. For lovers of history and poetry, drive over the bridge over the Kura River surrounded by fields and white cotton snow.
Lankaran is a warm and hospitable land. The slopes of the Talysh Mountains are a unique natural relic. We drove through a forest overgrown with chestnut-leaved oak, common only in this area. A great place in any weather is a mountain lake for photo shoots: the Khanbulanachai reservoir.

Lunch was near a mountain lake, delicious, the views are beautiful. In Sheki, the Shah's palace and the Caravanserai are beautiful. They also bought Sheken baklava there. We were on an individual family tour to Gobustan, the minivan drove up to the hotel on time, the Khazar guide is a professional in his field, told us about the country and its history, enjoyed the tour, except for one minus. Russian Russian is not available in the restaurant where tourists are brought for lunch, no one speaks Russian, it was difficult to choose dishes, I had to translate for a year. It was beautiful on the booklets and in the mouth of the promoters... We bought two tours at once (Guba-Khizi-Khinalyg and Shamakhi-Gabala). Today we went to the first one (we are glad that we returned alive and unharmed) and we will definitely not go to the second one.
It started with the fact that when leaving the Old Town, a "professional" driver (as we were told) rubbed himself against someone else's car. They caught up with us on the way, clarified the relationship and agreed (apparently) to sort it out later. Then this driver (his name seems to be Aslan) tried to kill us many times (driving on the oncoming lane, head-on to a truck, running red at 90 when the turning car barely dodged, sticking on the phone all the way, strange accelerations and inadequate decelerations and much more ...). He generally drove all the way to the Colored Mountains he yawned and tried to cover his eyes, periodically "catching the road." While walking through the mountains, he took a nap for half an hour, curled up on the seat, and then did not sleep anymore, but just freaked out on the road... But since I am writing, it means that we survived, although the whole Mercedes Sprinter prayed about it and not only prayed, but also persuaded Tabriz's "guide" to somehow save us.
Why is it a "guide" and not a guide? During the 11 hours of the trip, there were 15-20 minutes of text while we were leaving the morning traffic jam in Baku. Everything else came down to the fact that they announced to us that we had arrived "at the next stop" (without a name), we had so many minutes, and then he counted us: bir-iki-yuch, etc., and to the next stop. Of the declared objects, we visited the colored mountains, the "forest road" (where we were given to take pictures of the garbage lying everywhere for as much as 10 minutes (there is nothing more to photograph there, actually), the lake (entrance to the territory of 1 manat, at the same time.. a toilet and mountains of garbage around), a concrete bridge over an unnamed (again) river and a "restaurant" with crazy prices, with very tasteless food and with "Turkish" coffee, which turned out to be a drink "Nesquik" (that would surprise the Turks))), to which we drove for some reason an hour and a half. We did not see the declared unique mountain village of Khinalyg "with the most beautiful views for photos", as well as the arched bridge. Not a word was said about any of the objects, we did not even hear the name, as well as about the settlements being passed. By the way, all this splendor (11 hours of useless travel) costs 79 manats per person (approximately $50).
At the end of the road, already in the dark, when the driver on the highway for the 31st time began to write something to someone on the phone on the move, a tourist from Latvia sitting next to him asked him to hold the steering wheel, not the phone, to which he burst into some long tirade in his native language.
Nevertheless, we arrived (Allah Shukur, as they say).
We went to the office of the company (fortunately, he hogs the naive until 21.00) to cancel tomorrow's trip and, if possible, refund the money. They told the female manager (or someone else, it's unclear) about their enchanting trip. She thanked us for the information, went somewhere with our receipt and, returning about five minutes later, pleased us with a refund of 50% of the cost of tomorrow's tour "as a sign of goodwill" (because "actually, we are not obliged to return anything, because you should have warned us about the refusal 24 hours in advance, and for five good reviews, there is always one bad one"). Well, I'm sorry, it's good that we actually returned alive from the wonderful trip you sold! In general, they returned our money, however, a little less than 50%, got another minus in karma, but now you can feed more hungry cats in Baku, save a whole day of your life for something really useful (and maybe save a whole life). Perhaps Shamakhi and Gabala would have been much more successful, but now we won't know about it. Take care of yourself, your time, health and nerves. And money can be spent much more usefully than in this greedy and unprofessional travel agency with the motto "the fool himself". Sorry it's so long. Fresh emotions overwhelm ...
P.S. I really hope that the money appropriated by this hop-stop office will go to something useful.

We went with this company on excursions Gobustan + sightseeing Absheron (Sabukhi guide) and Gabala tour (Inara guide). Plus a bonus gift tour of Baku at night (Inara guide). The excursions are informative, both mentioned guides work professionally, the excursions were organized by Russian-speaking tourists and English-speaking (Chinese, Indians). The transition from Russian to English has never bothered. The guides told a lot of interesting facts about the history and reality of the visited places. I took two excursions to Smile: Sheki and a sightseeing tour of Absheron. Firstly, it is a very convenient payment for Russian tourists. also on both excursions we were lucky to have a guide, Adele, a clever, erudite, with a good sense of humor. There were minor delays with departure, both excursions started at the wrong time, but as a rule, it was the fault of late tourists. Apparently, it is not customary in Azerbaijan to punish unpunctual tourists. It's a long trip to Sheki, more than 300 km in one direction, we returned late, but I liked the tour, especially the palace in Sheki and the sweets we bought. There were enough stops to eat and stretch. Lunch on the shore of a beautiful lake. The tour of Absheron is less tedious, but interesting. The groups are usually mixed, so the tour was conducted in Russian and English. This is not my first experience of bilingual excursions in the CIS countries, so it did not bother me. Buses are comfortable Mercedes with air conditioning. In general, the guys are doing well, there is still something to improve, but they themselves say that mass tourism in Azerbaijan is still young.

Thank you for organizing the excursions! I want to write some suggestions to the management, because I travel a lot, there is something to compare it with. On the bus, the guide needs a microphone, because with the windows open, you can't hear anything that is being told. Closing the windows is not an option, there is no air conditioning in the bus, this is also a huge minus. It would be nice to buy water for tourists on the bus, centrally, in packages, it does not come out so expensive. During walking tours, it would be good to equip tourists with individual headphones so that they can walk away to inspect objects and at the same time hear the guide. There are no questions for the guides themselves, everything is fine, they know their job, they try.

We went to Gabala today with the guide Zaur, everything went great: clear answers to all questions, everything is strictly on schedule, with humor. Even, one can say, an individual approach - throughout the tour, Zaur was interested in whether everything was OK, how to help, what questions there were. The nature along the way is gorgeous, the views are amazing, the food is delicious. I recommend this company!
