There aren't many people, and the food isn't what everyone is used to, but if your goal is to fly specifically for the atmosphere, the ocean, and a small number of tourists, then you're definitely here. Our goal was to rest, not to overeat on the shevedsky table. The only thing missing were some snacks, like nuts and crackers. By the way, you could have made the crackers yourself, because the rolls and bread are delicious and I don't think they were eaten, some of them remained, well, dry them and give them to the people behind the bar, for example, I hear a lot from people that they would never fly to Cuba again and they didn't like it, but we are thrilled and I would have flown, even taking into account this infinitely long flight! I'm writing now and my heart aches, I want to go back. As much as they can provide a service, they do. The territory is clean, they are being cleaned, and you can also buy coconuts from the gardeners for 1 piece-1 $, but be careful, tell them in Spanish that you need fresh, and not the one that has been in the container all day or lifted from the ground. If you compare with other hotels, for example, located around the villa Dupont, then there are simply the best beaches!!! We noticed and tested them at the end of 2022, and repeated them in November 2023.
The food is normal (dade is very good for Cuba, it must be understood, this is not Turkey)! But the ocean itself is beautiful and the magnificent beaches are at your feet!!! The staff is fastidious and kind!

July 2024. I had a 100% rest! The hotel justifies its four stars. After paying $50 extra, I checked into a room with an ocean view. The plumbing is in good working order, the supply of hot and cold water is uninterrupted; detergents- soap, shampoo, shower gel - are always available. Room cleaning and towel change daily; excellent sleeping place. I received a beach towel without any problems, immediately on the day of arrival.
The staff is friendly, helpful, ready to provide service and assistance. (For example, my topic was blown away by the wind on the roof of the third floor, I asked for help at the reception, and this problem was promptly solved). As a token of gratitude, she presented a chocolate

No complaints about nutrition. Everything is fresh. The assortment is very diverse. Rich breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Fresh juices for breakfast of at least three types, lots of fruits - papaya, guava, pineapples, mango, watermelon, mini bananas; unlimited water, delicious coffee, delicious (always fresh) bread, delicious cheeses. At lunch and dinner, there is always freshly cooked meat: either pork or beef; very tasty stewed chicken cooked with spices. Seafood is served daily in different versions. Drinks are served for lunch and dinner: sangria, dry white, red, rose wines, beer is very good.
Rum "flows like a river" around the clock. There are no problems with the dishes, the waiters are efficient, they try to serve quickly. There is no fuss.
Before dinner, there is always a musical "minute" in the conference room: instrumental music (saxophone, piano) or vocal jazz is played.
Every day at 21:30 there is entertainment animation in the amphitheater, mainly a colorful Latin dance show.

And finally, what conquers the hearts of vacationers and why they fly to Cuba is the charming Atlantic Ocean with its gentle, warm, emerald, clear as a tear, water!!! He has no equal! (Turkey and other Asian countries where I visited were left far behind).....

Sirenis Tropical Varadero. September 2023. A hotel in Cuba is always a lottery. Maybe you'll be lucky and everything will be fine, or maybe not. I was lucky. A room with an ocean view (for an additional fee of 50 bucks), but it was worth it! The condition of the room turned out to be quite decent, the furniture is in good condition. The girls at the reception are friendly, polite and tried to quickly resolve any issues that arose. The cheerful bartending girls at the Cohiba bar and the beach bar are always positive and did not spare rum in cocktails and thermo mugs. The territory is well maintained, and a gardener can "dissect" a coconut for a dollar and the delicious coconut juice can be drunk directly from a natural container. They advised the travel agency to bring them their unnecessary things. We brought things in good condition, even with some tags. They left it instead of a tip. She was satisfied, as we understood, dressed her family)
3. Nutrition. I will not call myself fastidious about food. But I didn't like the food at all. I understand that this is Cuba. But in my opinion, it's completely tasteless, they don't know how to cook. Rice and pasta are very overcooked. The choice is small. There is a queue for fish and meat. You will have to fight for mango😃 They bring a small plate every 30 minutes and immediately a couple of people sweep it to zero. Other fruits include guava, papaya, bananas, watermelon. Sometimes fruits with a pronounced fermented taste, they are all warm, they are not stored in the refrigerator.

I will not write about the flight, although everything went according to schedule. Nord Dvin there 13.5 and back 12.5 hours. In Sheremetyevo, almost everyone was forced to put their hand luggage in a frame, but in Cuba they don't care how many kg you have in your hand luggage! We arrived at 18:50, arrived at the hotel at 21:00. Check-in took 3 hours, i.e. we got to the room at 23:00! I'll tell you right away, check in only on the upper floors with an additional payment of $ 50! We met the guys who moved into the first floor without extra charges.... Ants, cockroaches, mosquitoes, a terrible smell of mold, humidity! Nothing dries in the room! Our room on the fifth floor was 5312... the room was a tubby one.... The smell of mold was also present... but then you get used to it, and you smell it already!!! There were no cockroaches, ants, and mosquitoes. We brought a fumigator and sprays with us! There are garbage cans on the beaches, there is a minimum of garbage. As far as we understood from the reviews from various hotels and the reviews of people with whom we talked on the plane on the way back - Sirenis has the largest beach line. There are two beaches. One is at the bar in the "forest", which looks like a bungalow. The second one is at the end of the snack bar. We went to the far beach almost every day because it seemed more picturesque and lively to us. Someone will find it too noisy, there are dances and water aerobics every day. By the way, I recommend to visit aquaerobics, a very fun event)) especially if there are a lot of people.
Of the advantages, it is also worth noting the cool evening shows. The staff is trying very hard, the guys are giving their best! Dancing is in the blood of Cubans! If you are going for a relaxing holiday, you will have enough entertainment programs. By the way, there were almost no children in the hotel (perhaps it was in September). It was a plus for us.

Of course, there were attempts to try other masterpieces of the cuisine of our hotel, but dishes such as fried coconut, fried cucumbers and bananas did not come in. Beef was also grilled, but they fry it to the state of the sole and it is impossible to eat it. Of the fruits there were decent pineapples, the rest of the fruits are sour. Once they took peaches in syrup, and they were already fermenting in a glass, they were bubbling so much. Delicious ice cream, we added ice cream to desserts and it was the only joy! But our disappointment in the morning turned out to be that now the view from the room opened onto the dining room, from which there was a very delicious smell of fish, and the balcony itself was, as it were, deepened, a shabby wall with mold could be seen on the left. Below - right under the balcony there was a roof, on which our neighbors threw garbage from above - habariki, cigarette packs, etc. You're standing like this on the balcony, getting high- and suddenly a bull flies to you from the sky. In this wonderful room, we consistently had problems with the lock twice a day: the door does not close, but it does not open. The cards were flashed constantly. Once we came across the fact that the room could not be closed. You go to the reception, then you expect a mechanic. Half an hour, an hour.. you go to the reception again to remind yourself. And here he is - the long-awaited mechanic! He solved our problem with the lock very simply! Says "it will continue", just hang on the door handle and it will close. It's very funny, of course, waiting for an hour for a specialist who will tell you to hang on the door handle. Cuban pros)) In the new room we liked the bathroom, the plumbing was noticeably newer, the water was hot and it went away normally. The only complaint is the bucket in the toilet. Apparently, as it was put there, it was never washed, because the smell from it left much to be desired. On the last day of our departure, the air conditioner broke down and only the ventilation worked. The mechanic walked for a long time, but still came and said that everything should work within an hour. Fortunately, it was)

Then a porter came running after us and began to threaten us through an interpreter, when asked to take a picture of his translator, he attacked my friend and tried to break his phone, when we started shooting him, he ran away, we came to the reception and called security, and in the presence of security, this man hit my friend again, then they fought but they began to demand beach towels, which we handed over and had already received a receipt that they were not with us, but they did not care. And then I saw the director of the hotel, I went up to him and told him everything, he shouted something and everything ran like cockroaches through the cracks, and the security said that there were no complaints against us. And we have complaints! To the Pegas company! Which we wrote every day, and they apologized and did nothing, to their agent at the hotel, to whom we wrote complaints and she sent us with a smile on her face and offered us to go on an excursion! We rested in March 2024, The hotel, like everything in Cuba, requires renovation, But This Ocean for which you are going there will block everything. We stayed at this hotel (sirenis tropical varadero) twice, February 2023 and January 2024, just returned. I decided to write to dispel your doubts.
I think the hotel is good, but in 2023 I liked it more.
Now for more details.
Positive:
1. Good location (if you look at the "spit" or the route of the 2-storey bus, it is about in the middle, you can walk to Plaza America, to the dolphinarium, and bargain with the taxi driver to get to Varadero in 10 minutes (usually they ask for 15)
2. Friendly and helpful staff. None of my requests, including *without tips*, were ignored. Employees always greet and smile.
3. They are well fed. Yes, cleanliness is largely lacking, for example, in 2023 there was no problem of poorly washed forks and plates. Everyone has their own taste in food, for example, I never eat salads without knowing what is mixed in them. I also don't like pasta. But for breakfast I always had cappuccino, eggs, cheese, rolls, vegetables, fruits. For lunch, rice, chicken, sometimes fish, vegetables, fruits, ice cream. For dinner, about the same, but instead of chicken, fish. Plus, I ate pumpkin, sweet potatoes, mussels a little at a time. Cakes. Unlimited water, with ice, without ice, cola, juice is not always (different, guava, papaya, mango was once), tea. Wine, beer for dinner, lunch. There is always coffee in the bar, if it is only for breakfast in the dining room. Vegetables (cucumbers, cabbage, tomatoes, greens) are different from ours. In Cuba, the soil is not very suitable for cucumbers, and tomatoes are imported, we were told so. But in general, it's all quite edible. Fruits, I love guava, papaya, they've always been there. Also pineapples, bananas, but I don't like them. Carambola (sour for me).
4. Very nice beach. There are always enough sun beds, there is no garbage. About beach towels: this year there is clearly a shortage, and not only in this hotel, we got them on the second try, sometimes people waited for 3-4 days.
5. Beautiful and large territory.
6. About room cleaning. Yes, they're getting out of the way. But sometimes they clean very well (I think it depends on the maid). I always leave little things as gifts, chocolates, nail polishes, some pesos. I'm not sorry, but people are pleased. And I'm not doing this to get my room cleaned better, but just. P.S. But you know, the people there are poor, with extremely low salaries, if you leave the maid $ 1 a day, you will spend $ 14 in 2 weeks. I think you won't go broke at all.
Water is put on every day, 4 small bottles of 0.5, or a half cup. We had enough.
We checked in in the evening (late arrival), the room had a short sheet on the mattress (did not cover the mattress), there were only 2 towels (large) in the bathroom. In the morning, I wrote (in Spanish with the help of an interpreter) a note for the maid asking her to replace the short sheet and add towels. All this appeared on the same day. Also, after 3 days, another foot towel appeared. In general, there are stains from the category of non-washable on the linen. What is, is. I do not understand what the problem is to buy more linen in China for a change, or good powders. Maybe it's the sanctions, I don't know. But it didn't stop us from resting.
7. Not a fan of bars, animations. But they are there. The guys try hard, arrange performances sometimes breaking into lunch or dinner)) We liked it. There is live music in the dining room every day, it is beautiful.
Minuses:
1. I have already outlined them above, there is a lack of cleanliness in the dining room, stains on the linen, sometimes there are not enough towels.
2. Specifically, the water in our room was not hot, but rather slightly warm. I found out that someone has a normal hot one, someone like me. I left a request at the reception, came to do something, went hotter. Then again. In general, I found a way out, washed (including my head) in the daytime from 16 to 17, then it was more or less hot. The one that was walking closer to night, it was cool for me to wash, my husband was normal.
3. Sometimes it is a problem to find an empty table at dinner if you do not come immediately to the opening. But the staff are trying to clean up and bring them like bees. P. S. this year, the manager in the dining room and the cook personally helped to collect dirty dishes from the tables. I still didn't understand if the hotel was too full, or if there were more staff working that year.
I just don't see the disadvantages of the hotel anymore.
Now about what overshadowed our vacation this year.

Two examples.
a 2-storey bus, at some stop a hop company of ours gets on. They are traveling on the 2nd floor. Suddenly they realize that they have to get out somewhere here. The guy jumps up and yells at the top stop, stop (seriously? Should they hear you down there?), yells further, adds the English words I say stop, stop. Do you think that's what they heard? The bus is coming. The man starts jumping on the floor and stomping his feet loudly, and continuing to yell. Facepalm. Thank God you came out, I was ashamed of you. You can see a diagram with stops, or you can just take a wheelbarrow and yell stop at least at every corner.
The second example is the dining room, breakfast.
Fried eggs, scrambled eggs are fried in front of you. There are 2 signs, in 6 languages it says omelet and scrambled eggs.
3 of our men are standing with a plate and one of them pointed at the eggs, and the display of 3 pieces. The woman began to break eggs into a cup (I note that if you do not immediately mark the scrambled eggs, they begin to stir the omelet), the man rolled his eyes, then poked his finger into the eggs and into the pan. Hello, is there no language? Or should I poke the sign weakly with my finger? How to rewind the mat so you are very good. The woman realized that she needed scrambled eggs, then poured the egg into the trash, broke a new one into the pan, but out of panic she forgot to pour the oil, eventually scraped everything off, did it again. For example, here is an episode of the good treatment of vacationers with the staff, to say hello, say an omelet or poke your finger at the inscription scrambled eggs and show the number of eggs on your fingers. Russian Russian is not required to know anyone here, unfortunately, the staff saw only assaults and aggressive bellowing from the majority of Russians.

It was our first trip to Cuba! It took us a very long time to choose a hotel, because in Varadero they are all very old, there are very few reviews and they are ambiguous. We chose this wonderful hotel at the last moment! We have never regretted it! It was unforgettable! Although the hotel has not been renovated for a long time, but the Cubans are so good, they try so hard! The food is delicious: lots of fruits, seafood, meat, cheeses, sausages, sweets. There was even a separate island with Italian pasta. Cute swans and wonderful little notes were waiting for us in the room every day after cleaning. The room was booked with a view of the garden, but since Varadero is a kind of spit, the ocean was also visible! The territory is very well maintained, a lot of greenery, birds! Every morning, dawn was greeted on the balcony. Gardeners will always pick fresh coconuts for you! Not a single negative moment! A snack bar is open around the clock, where you can have a snack with burgers or sandwiches. And in the evening, sit comfortably in the bar on the ground floor with a cup of coffee. The beach is clean, without algae, there is even a free rental of catamarans, small sailboats and canoes. To anyone looking for a hotel, I can safely recommend this one! You will never regret it!
