It is mandatory to visit. If you were in Siena and did not enter the cathedral, then you were not in Siena. The floor in the cathedral is a work of art and a feat of architects.

A very beautiful and majestic cathedral! We were with my son in April 2019 in Siena. On that trip, we visited 9 cities in Italy. The most impressive and memorable city for both of us was Siena. Namely, its terribly narrow streets, which are sometimes up to 60 cm(!) they reach, descents-ascents along them, sometimes they even went into dark tunnels). And so, in the end, you go out into the square to this magnificent, amazing cathedral! My soul freezes.
